An Announcement From Katsurou

First of all, I would like to say that I am downgrading from a "low activity" state to an "inactivity" state. I will still post in topics that I am apart of, but I may be very slow to do so. This will last until August 7, 2015.

Now, if this were about my inactivity, I'd have just placed this in the Land of Departure. No, there's a reason for the inactivity. And that reason... Is that I am taking part in the 2015 Indie Game Making Contest.

I intend to make a huge splash in the indie game dev scene with this competition, and I need all of the help I can get. I currently have amassed a team of 3, and more is certainly appreciated. If you have any abilities that might help in the indie game development scene, then you are welcome to join the team, whether that's being able to draw well, being able to think up good ideas, or just being able to play the hell out of an in-development game. If you can help, I will welcome your help.

You can contact me on Skype or via PM if you want to help. But, you must be asking, what will you get for helping?

Well, I guarantee you absolutely nothing. But, if the game manages to win one of the many monetary prizes that can be seen on the website, then I will give a cut (depending on how and how much each person has contributed) to each person helping.

That's about it, actually. Nothing's set in stone at the moment. This was literally something that my mother persuaded me to do on a whim, and so I'm doing it. And I'm damn serious about doing it.

Sweet! I'll be rooting for you!

I'm not one for drawing, but I can pitch a few ideas in here and there, as well as play-testing your game, but that might be a little troublesome if it can't play on a netbook. My time on the PC is limited and rare, but I can steal a few hours per week. Not really that helpful, but I won't pass up a chance of doing some alpha tests ^^

I suggest using Unity. It has a learning curve but you can do a lot with it. There are few tutorials online. I can give you some links or tips if you want. In either case, best of luck with your endeavors. Game design was never really for me, but it's a really cool thing to do.

I actually plan to use either App Game Kit 2 or RPG Maker VX Ace. I have commercial licenses for both of those programs, which helps immensely.

Other than that, I might use Stencyl. I'm reluctant to use the older RPG Makers (2000, 2003, XP) since they are kinda "outdated." I also have something called GameGuru, which I disqualified for the sole reason that its loading times and lag were horribad. Another, called Axis Game Factory, I disqualified because it wasn't versatile enough. And then, PlayCanvas, which I may or may not use, depending on if I can get a good enough 3D modeler for the type of game I am making.

Oh, right. For anyone who wants to help in anyway, add me on Skype, at endoftheworld44. I'll throw you into a Skype chat that will help with bouncing ideas and workflow.

It's been over 24 hours, and we still need help.

Specifically, we need concept and level artists, as well as (maybe) pixel artists. If you can do all of these, that would be best. Our artist can't do concept and level art, but she can do pixel art. Anyways, anyone willing and able to do this, please, throw a PM my way or add me on Skype. It would certainly help a lot.

As for an update: The game will be a dark-themed 2D puzzle-platformer made in Stencyl. That's about all I can reveal to the public.
