Party Member Slots Empty Party Member Slots

Post by Revas Fri Aug 07, 2015 11:07 am

I was thinking that, while all skills and abilities are still confined within PM skill trees, we could give them synthesis slots. It wouldn't be anywhere near as much as the main character, but it's not like PM's fight bare-handed. I'd say a fair number would be 3-5 per tier. This also empowers characters relying on the synthesis stat for utility purposes. Party Members can use synthesis without taking slots from the main character, allowing them some more personal traits instead of relying on the main character.

So all in all,

-Give Party Members synthesis slots
-Slots can be anywhere from 3 to 5 per tier, or whatever number staff feels is necessary

Well I for one am up for it. Even if they can't be as powerful as a main character's, it would at least give them something personalized. Though, there's the issue of furthering the imbalance between people with PMs and those without.

THe issue of imbalance is that one has party members and one does not. There will always be that divide. If we try to "balance" that then that'd just make party members less useful if you're supposed to be able to stand on equal grounds in a 1v1 given you and the other main have similar stats. No, it depends on a number of things and requires strategy. 3 v 1 or 4 v 1 almost always be unfair, but that's just how it is. You can't expect to not be at a huge disadvantage if you are alone and there is a seeker with a guardian and two lesser guardians fighting you.

Would be nice if they could carry some of your stuff for you lol. That would probably be taking advantage of the slot system if that was allowed though. Aw. Anyway, letting them have a few slots for their personal use, I could see that as being useful.

They shouldn't just have synth slots, but general slots. Let people choose what they want to invest in. Right now, investing in Magic and Synth as a partner character is useless, considering you have to sacrifice your skill tree, which is typically used for synergy.

They'd still be accessories to the main characters, just a bit more useful without being batteries to the main character's play style.
