Kotaro Kuya

Post by Kotaro Kuya on Wed Aug 12, 2015 5:55 pm

Character Name: Kotaro Kuya
Age: 32
Appearance:
Appearance:
Kotaro is a very large man, standing a full height of 6’7” and broader than most men could claim to be. While being 32 years of age his physical appearance remains that of a young man just entering his twenties, a side-effect of the years of experimentation he had undergone as well as his healing factor’s influence. His body’s musculature is also quite toned and fit, similar to that of a professional soccer player’s in build.

Kotaro’s right eye is red while the left is a light grey, a scar running down vertically from above his left eye to just above his upper lip. His hair is long and descends down just below his neck, reaching his shoulders with his right side usually covered. His hair is also dual colored, appearing as black normally but turning into a platinum white whenever he uses his magic, another side effect of the technological blockages placed upon his magical talent.

Kotaro has appeared in a series of outfits, the most recent one being a form of suit, not unsimilar to those seen worn by mafia hitmen. However, the outfit was custom designed and created by Kotaro himself. It comprises of black business pants held up by a black belt with a cross buckle, a white collared dress shirt underneath a black suit jacket with red detailings and designs. On the back of the jacket is the symbol of the Syndicate’s original emblem, a large embossed cross. After Kotaro eliminated the Syndicate’s major forces in the superpowers of Haven, the symbol was adopted by True Grave instead in order to be a sign of freedom and hope. He also wears a pair of black shoes, the bottoms the same shade of red as his jacket’s detailing.

Race: Human (Somebody)
Heart Element: Light

Statistic Questions
This short questionnaire exists to help our approvalists check against our existing statistics and see where you fall, thus allowing us to start your character off at the point most representative of their current power. Answer honestly and truthfully.

Haven Statistics for reference
Strength: Maximum
Speed: Excellent
Stamina: Superhuman
Energy Source: Excellent
Magical Prowess: Excellent

  1. What is the maximum, without magic, your character has ever lifted above their head in terms of weight? Pounds are preferable, but the metric system is accepted.- As of Haven’s statistics system, Kotaro is capable of lifting 3 tons overhead. This isn’t stated as if it is with or without effort. To give an example of something heavy Kotaro has lifted above his head, he was capable of lifting a tank similar to that of an Abrams Tank over his head. IRL, an Abrams Tank weighs 63 short tons, nearly 62 metric tons, which is odd considering the site’s stat system but was never argued against. I will leave determination up to you, but Kotaro’s stat for strength in Haven was Maxed out.
  2. In terms of physical damage, without protection, what is the most powerful blow your character has been able to endure? Were they rendered unconscious as a result of this?- The most damaging blow Kotaro has received while in existence on the site was being crushed by a massive worm comprised of flesh and souls. The Stamina system in Haven is a bit hard to judge, so I will give multiple damage types at the max that he has received. In blunt damage and force, the massive worm comprised of souls and flesh crushed him against the floor. The worm, known as Idaina, has a minimum length of 30 meters and maximum of 40 meters. It was much larger than Kotaro, who already was pretty tall, and crushed him in order to defeat him inside the first Shiki tournament. Kotaro remained conscious through the attack but his body had been strained to the peak and he was in enough pain where a single movement caused him to groan in protest and where he had seceded in the tournament. This was before his Stamina was upgraded however. As for slicing or ballistic attacks, Kotaro’s most harmful blow was from Vergil, who used his blade to cut Kotaro deeply and up to twelve times in the blink of an eye. Kotaro, while bloodied and wounded, managed to stay conscious and fight back. However, this thread was never finished. As for magical damage, Kotaro was capable of taking a powerful blow of pure raw magic energy that would normally annihilate anything that it made contact with with heavy damage. Kotaro managed to stay conscious and and continue fighting back while heavily damaged, eventually overcoming the enemy. He also managed to take heavy electrical shocks and bear it, surviving severe burns as well. I will note that Kotaro had a healing factor in this site. However, the healing factor never numbed the pain and wouldn’t heal him unless he was outside combat.
  3. What is the fastest your character can run without any additional help?-According to Haven’s stat system, Kotaro was capable of running at 130 kph, though was never labeled if this was max speed or his natural run.
  4. How quickly does your character react to attacks that they can sense or see?- Kotaro’s situational awareness is the product of grand experimentation and years of being on the battlefield in danger. He is capable of reading bullet trajectories before they are fired from a gun and reading someone’s body movement to decipher what they will do next. However, despite being able to read actions, his body needs to be able to keep up with his mind, which isn’t always the case as people faster than him can attack despite his ability.
  5. How fast does your character accelerate?- Kotaro is capable of reaching his maximum speed in 3 seconds, or one post if you prefer.
  6. What is the most impressive feat of accuracy your character has ever demonstrated being able to accomplish?- Kotaro’s accuracy is exemplary, especially considering his main weapons were a pair of large dual pistols. His greatest act of accuracy though needs to be gauged through his aim with both gun and without. With a gun, Kotaro was capable of trailing a bullet through 4 people that surrounded him by ricocheting it off of objects around him and using an estimate in reactions to hit them all in the head. He also managed to hit an enemy in the head who surpassed the max distance of his round by using a height advantage in order to keep the speed up and allow the bullet to traverse farther, maximum 82 meters. Take away the guns and Kotaro’s accuracy can be gauged only through a few ways. In hand to hand combat he was capable of making sure none of his strikes were lethal, pinpointing spots to make his opponents unconscious instead. He also could throw objects, take a pole for example, a great distance and land the target, though it would be about 1 foot away if he missed.
  7. What is the most powerful spell your character knows? How complicated is it?- Although Kotaro at first had no access to magic due to technological restraints, he had awakened his bloodline’s ability to tap into it after learning of his past. Since then, Kotaro’s most powerful spell he has learned was the Zero ability. Zero is used by the nanites that course through Kotaro’s body, in which they harness his magical attributes in order to make an imprint on an ability used against him. Once an ability is used on Kotaro, as long as it can be called a form of magic, the nano-machines begin to break down the ability as it was recorded, finding out its use and effect. Once deciphered, the machines ‘copy’ the ability. What is used isn’t the exact ability Kotaro had witnessed, but his nano-machines and magic working together in order to produce a product similar to what the spell was capable of. In order to "Learn" a skill, the skill must be used in a way that can specifically affect Kotaro. Attacks must be directed at him or be close enough to cause splash damage (Includes blocking), Defense techniques must have been used against Kotaro, having to have struck the technique or witnessed it actually used against him. The only powers Kotaro cannot learn are summoning , regeneration, or transformations (Complete physical or metaphysical changes to the body that change stats.).

If Kotaro learns a technique, it will be at his own power level. (If he learns a technique that is being used with a max skill, he can't use it to the same degree.) This counts for every ability he learns, depending on their wielders stat choice of power. In the end, the power of the skill he learned is based upon the stat his enemy assigned it too. This can make it difficult for Kotaro to use the technique's he learns effectively. The techniques are also not thread-transferable, meaning he can only uses what he learned, in the thread he learned it in. He can also learn a max of two techniques, having to swap one technique out for another if he wishes to learn it.

(Ok this is for the people who say that their ability can't be copied because it's unique to them.)

Also, copying an ability does not mean its an exact ability. (Say the ability was due to the character's bloodline *Cough*cliche*Cough*. Kotaro's copy mechanic wouldn't make it so his blood was now of that line. Instead, it would simulate the ability in a new sense. Think a recreation of the power but not the exact power, however it still goes by the copied abilities rules and strengths and weaknesses. Like the ability to breathe fire cause your a dragon would not mean Kotaro grew new organs to house the ability. Because the ability would be like casting a stream of fire through hands via magic, Kotaro would spew fire using the magic in his blood in a 'recreation' of breathing fire from the dragon, holding the same strengths and weaknesses as the ability.)

  8. What is the most impressive item your character has ever made? What were its special attributes?- Kotaro’s most incredible invention would be the Angel Arm Revolver. It is a special revolver that he designed to be able to utilize his nano-machines and magical output into a massive beam like attack through his arm with the revolver acting as the conduit and catalyst. While it could function as a normal revolver, with the simple press of a button Kotaro activates the catalyst hidden in the top of the revolver, causing his nano-bots and magic to extend his arm’s physical structure over the gun and create a cannon type weapon capable of firing his maximum power output. Although it appears in a beam, once it hits its target, it expands into a massive wave of energy that can cover up to 20 meters.

History: Kotaro was taken as a child the age of 4 into a criminal syndicate's project to create the ultimate unit of guards and soldiers. His memories were erased as well as his will to think for himself replaced with a chip implanted in his brain that would give commands from the criminal syndicate. The commands would determine the actions he takes to accomplish the goal they gave him, shocking him when he failed to meet their expectations. They also implanted a Guardian Program that would give him an undying need to protect those programmed into the chip, along with a smaller chip that heightened his senses that would allow him to fire his weapons in a 360 degree angle without turning to look around.

After years of the experimentation, one experiment went rogue after a failure in his system and released the experiments as well as disabling the link to their command chip, allowing them to obtain free will as the chips malfunctioned. The malfunction erased the individuals Kotaro had been programmed to protect but left the Guardian Program open, keeping his need to protect those close to him strong. Lead by the rogue to escape, Kotaro managed to take his gear and weapons before running and hiding in a semi truck that had dropped off supplies for the lab. As the semi-truck drove away the chip malfunctioned again, wiping the memories of the lab and the experiments before causing him to blackout.

Kotaro awoke in the same traveling semi-truck on a free-way. He had no idea where he was or how he got to that place OR who he was. After looking at the hat he had on his head he found the name Kotaro Kuya and the number fifteen beside it. Deciding to call himself Kotaro Kuya, Kotaro stood up as the semi was moving again. Upon opening the doors he fell out of the semi and landed on the freeway, hitting an oncoming car and getting knocked off the freeway. He awoke a day later in the hospital.

After escaping the hospital with the help of a cybernetic soldier named Ghost, Kotaro traveled the land, searching for his lost identity and combating the Syndicate, which longed to reclaim their lost property. Along the way, he met Noose, his half sister, who shared the same biological mother. Although not aware of it at the time, Kotaro held magical blood inside him, giving him access to lesser spells due to the cybernetic enhancements in his body disrupting the magical balance inside him. He participated in many events around the land, including the tournaments to become the Shiki and Masato, though failing in both attempts.

Kotaro joined the Shinrei military, becoming its Excidio quickly. Soon afterwards, Shinrei fell into war against the nation of Kyre, whose leader determined that Shinrei’s new leader was unfit for the position. Kotaro fought lightly in the war, using his abilities mostly to escort civilians and noncombatants out to safety. After the war, Kotaro stepped down from Excidio into the rank of Polaris, using the time to get to know himself after finally eliminating the forces of the Syndicate in the main Superpowers of Haven and reclaiming his memories. During this time he aided in his newly found cousin’s, Rei Diamante, search and inspection into family. He had even taken a few people under his tutelage, training them when he found the time.

However, Kotaro had started to come into belief of his elemental powers, though weak as they were. In order to find out about the abilities he possessed, he left Shinrei and went on a pursuit of knowledge. He was soon taken as Excidio in Kyre under its leader, Carrie, whom he held a brief romance with that quickly ended, leading him to once more abandon his position.

Once again on his own, Kotaro left to be in solitude in order to think over how his life had turned over. Deciding he wanted to start anew, Kotaro decided to change his appearance, discarding the garb he had used that the Syndicate had developed for him and creating his own, while leaving some remnants of the previous clothing.

After the discovery that the Syndicate hadn’t fallen and still existed as a large force in the lesser countries of Haven, Kotaro made it his goal to find and exterminate those that had destroyed and mutilated so many innocent lives and turned many lands into a hellish society of slaves under their control.

Leaving Kyre, this time for good, Kotaro set out on his journey. Along the way Kotaro met two more individuals similar to him in having been experimental weapons. Hasaeo Kujo, an ex-Syndicate assassin, and Zeal Alsanai, a long time rebel that had turned against the Syndicate when they burned down an entire city’s population simply as a sign of power and fear.

Kotaro formed along with these two the task force which would come to be called True Grave. Utilizing their resources and many abilities, Kotaro and True Grave managed to overcome the Syndicate, though in the process many lives were lost.

While in the nation of Elosina, Kotaro encountered a Syndicate cell that had been researching the science and properties of Hearts. Finding a machine which notes claimed would lead them to the answer, Kotaro planned to send it to True Grave for study. Instead, the machine activated, creating a vortex which sucked Kotaro inside. The vortex then dumped him onto a rooftop in Twilight Town. Without any idea of where he had ended up or how to return home, Kotaro has begun searching for a pathway to bring him back.
