Kouketsu's Skill Tree: Timeline

Base Ability: Kouketsu summons an alternate timeline, it doesn't need any notification of being activated but it can be seen when activated. The timeline makes things appear like they're being warped and distorted. This timeline is 10 meters in diameter around Kouketsu, increases by 10 meters per tier, and follows him where he goes as he is the source of it's creation and it must stay with its source. While in this alternate timeline, Kouketsu can alter his and other inorganic objects' position within it, allowing him to essentially shift the positions of himself and or other objects.  The timeline lasts for five posts until it disappears.

Base Ability Cool Down: Timeline: 5 Posts. Timeline Shifts: If used more than once in a single post, each subsequent use creates a cooldown of two posts that disables the shifting ability. The shifts are all supposed to be done in a single post and then cooldowns will occur.


Tier One
1st Skill: Paradox: Kouketsu alters his timeline and summons himself from another timeline, this self-image is an exact copy of Kouketsu only from a different dimesnion. Once the paradox is killed, the paradox will no longer be allowed to exist in the alternate timeline until 2 posts later.

2nd Skill: Rewind: Kouketsu can make time go back a full post, making any actions done in a post start all over again without anyone knowing but Kouketsu. Essentially he makes everything in a single post rewind within 30 feet of himself. 10 post cooldown.

3rd Skill: Pause: Kouketsu stops the timeline, making everything within it stop as well, besides him and his paradox, for one post per tier. 10 post cooldown.

4th Skill: Alien Timeline: The timeline searches to find foreigners from other timelines that aren't supposed to be in the timeline or do not have permission to be inside the timeline. The timeline damages this foreign enemy for moderate damage as a punishment for remaining inside the timeline.

5th Skill: Past Errors: All cooldowns are reduced by 1 post per tier. Passive.

Given the nature of Revert as written, I would treat it like other, similar abilities and replace it. If you wish to maintain it at this tier it would read as follows:

"All cooldowns will decay at a rate of 2 every other post instead of 1. Passive."

For Pause, please make it one post per tier instead of two.

Edited. Changed name of Rewind and put it onto new skill. Seemed to fit a lot more.

Because of the nature of rewind, I feel that it would also need to be a much higher tier if I even could be convinced to allow it as is. You aren't just rewinding time in a specific area- you're essentially within the scope of this ability, by yourself, rewinding time for the entire universe. Even if just by a mere six seconds, that's a huge amount of time to just set back all of existence and reality by.

That said, we did have an ability on site that allowed rewinding. It was much more contained. If you make this an area of effect ability with a smaller range and a higher cool down it could work. I'd favor something in the neighborhood of twenty-thirty feet and ten posts for a cool down.

Now, I'd like to focus on the base ability more in-depth. So, please bear with me. I will say a lot of things for the sake of clarity in order to better assist those observing the approval who would wish to undertake a similar concept.

The wording of the Base Ability essentially means that this is not an Aura Effect. An Aura Effect is viewed primarily as a passive ability that influences a range with its primary effect. Auras may have abilities that can be triggered or toggled that are tied to it, but an Aura itself can not be toggled. If you were in fact attempting an aura effect, then please let me know and we'll attempt to pursue one. Otherwise, the approval will continue below.

First: Are these actual alternative timelines that you are accessing, or are these psuedo-alternative timelines that you yourself are creating for your personal use? Depending on which, there may be actual consequence to overuse of the ability.

Second: The Timelines will need a Duration, and based on this Duration will likely receive a new Cool Down.

Third: We're going to need to limit Timeline Shift's Esuna Effect. If you can shift once per post and remove EVERYTHING on you, it is basically an immunity to most all applied effects. Either Timeline Shift has to be limited in such a manner that it occurs less frequently, or you'll need to separate the Esuna Effect out of it as a different skill with a separate cool down. However, I will note that multiple uses per post are still fine.

Because of the nature of the base ability and the intent that accompanies it, you may increase the duration to five posts if you wish. While normally Time would have a longer cool down, making it too long for this particular ability would ruin its potential viability. As such, the cool down may remain at five. If you wish for the Timeline to have a longer duration, then please be sure that the cool down period matches the ability's duration.
