Scare the night away (Closed)

Minfilia had arrived in a small alleyway while the dim light of a few lamp post illuminating her way, before she had continued on however she noticed the clothes she we're wearing had changed entirely. Minfilia now wore a dress similar to hers excpect it was completely black with white spiders now decorating it, her hair has also changed becoming almost white as snow, and finally she also wears a spider necklace, with the spider being a pitch black color.

Minfilia made her way out of the alleyway wondering who could live in this kind of town, perhaps it was empty? Minfilia kept pondering it while making her way towards a fountain in the center of town, as she sat down three small figures scurried into a small break in the wall, which seems to have lead to... a graveyard. Great Minfilia thought. Minfilia followed the figures into the graveyard however, they seem to have disappeared resulting Minfilia to be at a loss yet again.

Minfilia was about to head back towards the center of town when a crash was heard behind her. She turned around and saw the three figures behind a tilted over tombstone, it appeared to be two boys, a slim boy wearing a devil costume, a more plump boy wearing a skeleton costume, and a girl wearing a witch outfit.

"Nice move idiot, now she found us!" The girl said while hitting the skeleton boy over the head

"Owwww... it wasn't MY fault it fell over!" The skeleton boy said rubbing the back of his head.

"Knock it off! Lets get out of here!" The devil child said. All three nodded in agreement and ran off pushing Minfilia down while running into a heavily forested area out of sight while giggling like madmen.

"Hey! Get back here and apologize!" Minfilia said running into the forest, which now she realizes was definitely a mistake. Minfilia soon became lost with only the light of the moon shining down on her. "This is just perfect... Minfilia said while continuing through the dense forest.

The little angel girl's attire had only turned a few shades darker, but otherwise remained the same, which included her wings and halo. She only got there by accident, truth be told, and wasn't really sure how she happened upon that place, but she didn't feel all that safe, and because of that, she avoided the scary-looking denizens of the world.

Except when she overheard a bit of a commotion in the graveyard. She went to investigate, keeping herself hidden for the time being. She got there just in time to see a girl getting knocked down by three other kids who ran away. The girl called out to them and gave chase, and Chandra followed close by out of curiosity. After a while, it was apparent that the girl was lost, and by extension, so was she. There was no other choice but to shadow the girl she followed on the way into the forest.

For a while, she was as quiet as a mouse, using her flight abilities to keep herself from making any noise, but as she went deeper, flying became a bit more difficult, so she had to land. Unfortunately, she landed on a twig which snapped loudly in comparison to the silence of the forest. Startling herself, she ducked behind the trunk of a large tree and hoped that whoever she was following wasn't hostile to her.

While Minfilia made her way through the forest she heard the snapping of a branch behind her, she turned around as fast as she could analyzing her surroundings for any signs of life. "H-Hello?" Minfilia shakily said to who or what, ever was following her. Minfilia was about to check out what was behind the tree until she heard more rustling from around her, and at that moment a heartless mimicking the appearance of a mummy with long slender arms and legs appeared out of the darkness rushing towards her.

Minfilia leaped out of the heartless's way and noticed the three children again running off into the distance giggling as usual. She would deal with them later, now was the time to take care of the heartless. It came charging at Minfilia again slashing with its claws like knives, before it could make contact though Minfilia leaped into the air above it and formed a ball of light into her hands, then shooting it directly at the heartless. It made contact and caused the heartless to disappear into the nothing.

Minfilia was back on her way to find the children walking towards the direction she saw them giggling in.

Chandra's heartbeat rose when the girl she was following slowly walked up to her hiding spot. She had no means to defend herself and all she could do at that moment was pray the girl was a friend. Her eyes shot up and her heart skipped a beat when something rustled in the bushes and jumped on the girl. Chandra peaked out just in time to see the monster be destroyed by a ball of light.

Light powers... she could be a friend after all! That display of holy magic was enough for the young angel to be a bit less shy, having witnessed something familiar to her. Although she was still a little bit timid. The mage girl continued deeper into the forest, following the three children from before. Wanting some form of protection and a new friend, Chandra continued to follow her, floating only slightly above the ground.

She was still a little anxious, so she didn't dare make herself known, but simply hoped the girl turned around to see her.

Minfilia continued to tread through the dark forest searching for those brats, could they possibly summon heartless? Questions for later Minfilia thought as she turned around to notice what appeared to be a girl or... angel? Following her, Minfilia scremed in surpise and jumped back preparing to destroy it. However, Minfilia noticed no heartless symbol on the girl and relaxed a little but not putting her weapon down.

"Hello... may I help y-" Was all Minfilia could say before a swarm of heartless appeared around the group, all appearing to be the strange mummy like heartless. Minfilia grabbed the angel girl and began to run towards a small opening in their numbers, "Introductions later!" Minfilia leapt through the opening while expelling the light from within herself causing the heartless to be knocked to the ground, just enough time for them to escape.

Minfilia and the girl luckily made it back to Halloween Town and we're currently back at the gate to lead into town. "My name is Minfilia, a pleasure to meet you." Minfilia made a small curtsy and looked back towards the angel girl.

At first, Chandra was relieved that the girl finally turned around, but when she screamed, the angel quickly covered her face behind her hands, the robe's long sleeves doing a good job in covering her features as she prepared to be hurt. But no pain came to her. She slowly lowered her arms and saw that the girl was a little bit more relaxed, but the staff was still wielded. Chandra took a few steps back so she could run if she needed to.

The spoke, or at least tried to, when a group of monsters jumped on them, one of which almost caught the young girl. A choked gasp escaped her when she felt her arm being pulled roughly, and thought that one of the heartless had gotten her. But to her relief, it was just the mage girl, leading her out of the forest and away of those monstrous creatures of darkness. By the time they reached the gates, Chandra was short of breath. She was never fond of running, but the low-hanging branches made it so that she couldn't just float or fly out.

The girl spoke and said her name was Minfilia, which was a nice name, she thought. As a form of a acknowledgement and a sign of thanks, Chandra smiled at her sweetly, however, she didn't speak when it was presumably her turn for an introduction. Instead, she removed her hair clip and showed Minfilia the underside where her name was engraved into it. It was small, but a close enough look would make make the name obvious. On the right arm of the clip was the word, "Chandra", among six other names, but this was the name she pointed too.

"Hm.... so Chandra is your name? That's a nice name." Minfilia made the assumption that Chandra could not speak, it would hopefully not cause any trouble later down the road, Minfilia thought. Minfilia tried to think of any questions to ask Chandra but currently could not come up with anything. She then thought of a plan of action to find those kids and get a few question out of them... "Well with introductions out of the way, I must be on my way with some... unfinished business, if you want to tag along I wont complain but we may fight more heartless along the way."

With that said Minfilia walked back into town towards a strange outstretched spiral hill leading towards where those children were hopefully hiding. Minfilia had hoped Chandra would follow along, she could use the help and wouldn't mind the company in this creepy place.

The angel girl nodded her head to confirm that that was indeed her name and put her clip back on her hair, smiling gratefully for having made a new friend. With what she just experienced in her short time in the world, she definitely needed someone to fight the monsters back as she wasn't equipped nor trained to do so herself. She was more of a healer type than an offensive battler really.

Her lifestyle in a peaceful home world made it like that. But, considering the dangers, it might be a good idea to learn how to protect herself. Though, she'd rather avoid fighting if she could help it. Minfilia turned away, saying that she had unfinished business to take care of, but wouldn't mind a little company. Chandra followed her. It was a dangerous place with all the monsters lurking around, and although she herself couldn't do anything to keep them at bay, she could at least provide some form of support for the mage and mend her wounds should she be hurt.

Minfilia was pleased to hear that she would be getting some company on her mission, they set off across the strange hill deeper into another graveyard, great... Minfilia and her partner crossed a small bridge in search of those dreadfull children, what would she do when she found them? Force an apology out of them? Fight them? Minfilia didn't have the heart to do anything like that to them, but they can control heartless (or so it seems) so they needed to be stopped but how... As Minfilia pondered her thoughts she noticed three small figures scurrying deeper into the graveyard, were they just messing with Minfilia? What were their motives for all of this? Minfilia pondered the thought for only a second as they made chase to them once again.

They stopped at what appeared to be a large castle like structure, presumably this is where they have gone to. "Seems like this is where they went, I feel like we might run into some trouble up ahead you still up for this? I doubt we will be able to turn back after this."

Chandra continued to follow the girl, flying just a foot above the ground so she could at least keep up with her. They went through a graveyard, a place where Chandra didn't really feel safe at all, but at the same time, felt something tugging at her heart, making her a little sympathetic to whoever was buried there. They'd be in a better place though, right? She'd have to give a silent prayer if she finds her way back there. But for now, she followed Minfilia through the spooky place.

They stopped in front of a castle of sorts, and Chandra landed for a moment to take the sight in. Would they be going in here? She passed a questioning look to Minfilia, who confirmed it. She didn't want any trouble, but at the same time, she didn't want to let a friend go alone. They might get hurt, or worse. Chandra nodded to her, and placed a hand on her chest as she closed her eyes. A light glow emanated from the angel, and that glow would soon appear around the mage before fading.

Chandra smiled. Minfilia would have felt a soft, protective warmth embracing her. The angel might not know much about combat, but she could at least make sure Minfilia was protected from harm.

Minfilia was happy to see she was going to come along, this might not be so bad then she though. Minfilia then felt a strange warmth envelope her, Chandra must have cast some type of supportive spell on her that would come in handy later. Minfilia and Chandra walked towards the the strange castles gates and pushed them open revealing heartless symbols painting the walls, it was also a long narrow hallway leading to another door. They slowly made their way to the other side of the room opening the door with an eerie creak. The other side of the room revealed two large black dice and green dice, where the single dot should have been was replaced by a heartless symbol, MInfilia noticed the symbol and was about to exit the room but the doors slammed shut and the two dice grew demonic yellow eyes and began rolling towards the small group.

Minfilia grabbed Chandra and pulled her to the side up a conventionally placed set of stairs trying to escape the heartless. The room above was equally less pleasant as the three children resided in it, the children looked at Minfilia and Chandra then began giggling once again, at that moment that damn dice heartless appeared again, it seemed there was no way out of this one... "Stay back Chandra..." Minfilia pulled out her staff and focused her magical power into it causing it to glow brightly and then shine a field around the group causing the heartless to flinch in pain.

Chandra examined the interior with a fresh sense of curiosity. Despite the spooky appearance which sent chills through her body with decors striking a bit of fear and uncertainty in her heart, she found it really interesting how everything was set up. It helped to balance out her nervous energy with something distracting. She kept close to the mage in case she had to find a source of reassurance, but so far, nothing was too scary for her to warrant clinging on to the mage's leg.

She almost did just that when the doors slammed behind her, causing her wings to stiffen out of fear, rendering her flightless. She turned around to look at the doors and slowly took a few steps back, oblivious of the danger she was backing into. She would have been seriously hurt had Minfilia not taken her hand and brought her to safety. Or so she thought. Right as they got to the top, the three children the mage was after was right there waiting for them. Shortly after, some dice-like creatures followed them up the stairs. Scared, the angel held on to the mage's sleeve tightly with a whimper.

Being told to step back, she reluctantly let go so the mage could do what she had to. The monsters suddenly flinched with pained expressions as a light spread out from the staff. Out of nowhere, more of the little heartless appeared, some popping out from above. Seeing this, Chandra quickly grabbed Minfilia and fled into one of the side rooms, shutting the door behind them. Though, that wouldn't have done much she felt. She carefully stepped back from the door as she could hear the scratching from the other side.

Before Minfilia could react again she noticed more and more heartless appearing in the room, she began to panic before Chandra pulled her into another room and closed the door on the heartless, Minfila could hear the pounding and slashing at the door. Minfila and Chandra backed up from the door waiting for them to break in. Minfila thought of one last stand in an attempt to stop the heartless.

As the doors burst open, Minfilia summoned forth thorn vines to cover the door destroying some heartless and preventing more from entering for now... Minfilia grabbed Chandra roughly and pulled her into a nearby hallway leading deeper into the castle.

After appearing to be safe she stopped to take a breath, "Chandra... I'm sorry for dragging you into this... I feel awful and we might not even make it out of here." Minfilia said praying nothing happens to her.

A bead of sweat rolled down her cheek as she assessed the situation in her mind. What had they gotten themselves into? A heap of trouble, that's what. But there was still a good chance of survival. Her heart sank when the doors gave way to the heartless, and she honestly thought that was it, but, ahh, the mage had one more trick up her sleeve, summoning thorns to bar the way. Once again, Chandra was lead to another area, which unfortunately was deeper into the castle.

When they finally stopped, Minfilia was panting for breath. Chandra wasn't since she let her wings do most of the traveling for her. Looking back behind them, she watched for anything chasing them still. There wasn't a soul in sight. For the time being. Hearing her name, she turned back to the mage, who apologized for dragging her into the situation. Chandra landed for a moment and gave her a warm and reassuring smile, as if to say that it was alright. It was, after all, the angel's own choice to follow her. And seeing what they were up against, she knew it would have been a lot more dangerous if the mage went alone.

"..." She looked around, wary of any possible spots that their enemies might come out of. But after witnessing the little ones appearing out of thin air, every spot was dangerous. That was realized when a dozen of them appeared, surrounding them.

"Hey, where are you going?" Nero said, catching his companion separating from the main group. As if it was hard to notice him.

"..." Wolfram only turned his head slightly back to the raven familiar.

"Following those kids, huh? Well alright. Isis and I will make sure Zienna's distracted."

With a nod, the hulking behemoth continued off towards the castle, following the two girls at a distance. He wasn't particularly interested in the mage, but the angel following her. How did she end up here, he wondered, and was she from the same world as he was? Judging by the way things worked, he had his doubts, which sparked some kind of fire in his soul, his purpose reignited.

He had kept his distance and watched things unfold, but when he saw them being surrounded a second time, he felt he needed to intervene. They were horribly outnumbered, and it seemed only one of the girls had the capacity to protect themselves. Well, why not give them a hand?

Wolfram was at the side of the castle, following the angel's light, or more accurately, the energy of her halo. That was one thing he was created to sense. Finding a soft spot on the walls, he crouched and fed some of his powers into the ground, causing a pillar to suddenly boost him up at an angle. His bulky, 12-foot mass effortlessly crashed through the wall and coincidentally, crushed half of the heartless. He eyed the angel and her friend before turning to the rest on the opposite side of the room. He slammed his ax on the ground and a zigzagging, glowing red crack traveled under the two girls' feet, heading strait for the heartless. When the crack reached them, the ground erupted in flames, decimating them. His gaze returned to the two girls, but didn't utter a single word.

Minfilia felt panic welling up inside her, this was it... We we're done for Minfilia was completely out of energy from using so much magic and heartless were closing in fast. As Minfilia was about to push Chandra out of the way and try to protect her friend a huge crash was heard and a hulk of a man came in, smashing through the giant wave of heartless.

Minfilia was relieved but back to a panic as he began to stare right at the girls, "Stay back Chandra... Get back you, ugh..." Minfilia fell to the ground exhausted on the brink of falling unconscious she spoke one more time "Run... Chandra..." then darkness and Minfilia was out.

Chandra jumped when the wall behind her suddenly exploded, a large body having plowed through it. What was happening? Was it another one of Minfilia's spells? She gave the girl an inquisitive look, but her expression to the scary giant certainly didn't mean it was hers. Was it an enemy? It couldn't be, right? It looked to be helping them. He destroyed the heartless without hesitation, or much effort. But then, it looked right at them, which sent fear into to the girl's heart. If he could dispatch that many enemies in a few strikes, it was hard to imagine what he could do to them.

Minfilia must have felt the same as she quickly ordered it to stay back, but she suddenly fell. Before she went unconscious, she told Chandra to run. But she couldn't. Not when she had been protecting her all this time. Chandra chose to stay and stood over the girl's unconscious form with her arms stretched to the side. She tried to put on a tough face, but her nervousness showed through. It would be hopeless. She could try to pick the girl up and run, but she really didn't have anywhere to run to.

The giant approached, leaving his ax stuck to the floor. This was it. Chandra closed her eyes and whimpered, but stood as strong as she could manage. But, to her surprise, she heard him getting on one knee, lowering himself to be seen easier. "..."

Chandra opened her eyes slowly to see the giant still looking down on her despite lowering himself. His head was completely encased in his helmet, but as she looked at him where his eyes would be, she felt something gentle staring back. He offered a hand to the girl, and she just stared at it. He only had four fingers, albeit large ones. His skin was dark and rough and had a number of scars. She took notice of his armor; how large it was and how his it seemed to glow at the stomach area. The next thing she noticed was the tail. She never seen anything like him before.

"Don't worry. I'm not your enemy... Chandra, was it?" He had a big voice that... was surprisingly soft at the same time. She nodded her head and looked at his offered hand. Haltingly, she placed her hand on his palm, then looked back at him.

"... ?"

"I am guardian... trying to fulfill my purpose."

"..."

"Yes, that's a real tail."

Chandra was a bit surprised when he answered, but she smiled happily at him. When she remembered her friend, she quickly went over to her and checked to see if she was alright. She sat down by her head and cleared away the hair that had fallen over her face.

"She is just exhausted. Is she a friend of yours?"

The young angel looked up and nodded with a happy smile on her face.

"I see."

Chandra closed her eyes for a moment and focused her energy into her palms, which then brightly glowed. She held them over Minfilia's chest and hoped it would be enough to get her back on her feet. The young mage would feel a calming power and a gentle warmth flow through her body as Chandra used her holy energies to rejuvenate her. Although this was normally used for healing wounds, it worked just as well in re-energizing an individual. She just hoped it was enough.

Wolfram was simply watching, feeling a little nostalgic at the scene playing out before him.

Minfilia awoke with a gasping breath and a cough, she slowly stood up looking at Chandra and nodding to her with a small smile. She then noticed the man who destroyed the heartless and backed away with Chandra again. However she showed no fear towards him so perhaps he was a friend of hers? Minfilia slowly walked towards the man holding out her "Hello there... I am Minfilia" she said with a shaky voice preparing for any sign of hostility towards her or Chandra.

She smiled back in relief. Whew, she was alright, and that made the angel happy. She was then confused for a moment when Minfilia backed away. Did another monster appear? She leaned to the side to see past Wolfram, which was not an easy thing to do. She had to quickly walk a few steps to the side so she could see the opposite end of the room. Nothing. Well, she was sure if anything popped up, Minfilia and the giant would take care of it.

Wolfram squinted a little when the mage backed away, taking it as an attempt to take the angel, but it turned out to be caution. He looked at the offered hand for a moment before clasping his around her's which basically looked like a rock being swallowed up by paper. He of course minded his strength, not wanting to accidentally crush her hand. "Pleasure to meet you. I'm Wolfram." His reply was just short, not being the type to talk much to anyone who wasn't a long-time friend, or an angel. Being made to protect the holy beings, it was only natural that he'd be feeling loose around them.

Minfilia was still on edge about meeting this man, he seemed nice but it's possible he is hiding any true intentions perhaps he could be working WITH the heartless for all she knew. However, he seemed to have enough power to take them both down even at full strength so why not just finish us right there? Minfilia started re-assuring herself and decided it would be in her best interest to make friends with this man rather than anger him. "Ok then, Wolfram, i'm not sure how you got here but rather you're here to harm or help us I still have a mission to complete. If you would like to accompany Chandra and I that would be excellent but if not then thank you very much for the help and farewell."

Minfilia was about to continue on with Chandra when a strange giggle was heard again echoing through the halls.

Prepare to face the might of... LOCK!

SHOCK!

AND BARREL!

The three children appeared once again, and along with that strange dice heartless as before however it seemed to have a new trick up its sleeve as it began rolling itself and landing on the two heartless symbols, 3 of the mummy heartless spawned from the shadows and the dice heartless began to prepare for an attack as the dice heartless threw itself up into in the preparing to smash the party and the mummy heartless charged with claws waving in the air.

Chandra jumped at the giggling and gave the three kids a glare. Wolfram turned around and effortlessly picked up his weapon. He stood in front of the two girls, the abdominal part of his armor glowing. The blade of his ax glowed brightly as it was coated in molten metal. He stomped on the ground and caused spikes of metal and glass shooting up from the ground to the ceiling in the area in front of him, aiming to impale the heartless and three annoyances. The dice heartless, as it came down, was being greeted with the searing blade as Wolfram slashed at the dice once.

He wasn't sure if he needed them alive or not, but he did know that no harm must come to the two girls behind him.

Minfilia watched the extreme power Wolfram held in amazement dealing an extreme amount of damage to heartless in a matter of a seconds. He managed to destroy two of the mummy-like heartless but the third one seemed to have gone somewhere else but where... At that moment Minfilia felt sharp claws digging into her as the heartless wrapped itself around Minfilia digging its claws into her. Minfilia screamed in pain as it tore through her cloth and into her skin, Minfilia was able to grab a hold of one its claws and ripped it from herself, she then grew vines from the ground below her and caused them to wrap around the heartless causing it to crumble to the ground and then disappear into nothing.

Minfilia then noticed that strange dice heartless took some extreme damage from Wolfram but was still fighting, it had rolled itself again landing on the heartless symbol once more, she expected more heartless to appear instead nothing appeared Instead however, a large cage emitting a strange dark aura fell on top of Chandra and Wolfram, if they we're to not dodge the falling cages then Minfilia would be left alone to fight the heartless.

Chadra remained at the back and watched things unfold. Wolfram had removed most of the threat, but one still managed to phase through and harm the mage. When things were relatively calmer, she approached the mage to mend her wounds, however, a large cage suddenly fell on her. Wolfram had kept himself from being entrapped by hopping to the side, after which he stomped on the ground, causing a pillar of earth to shoot out of the ground under the dice heartless to crush it between the pillar and the ceiling.

His ax at the ready, he growled, searching for the three trouble makers. Minfilia's wounds would start healing just for being close to the angel, her aura working its magic.

Minfilia was thankful Wolfran was able to end the situation quickly and easily for the group. As the heartless had vanished Chandra's cage had disappeared however, Minfilia's wounds began to heal supposedly from being around Chandra. Minfilia noticed Wolfrun searching for the 3 children however they seemed to have gotten away yet again... slippery little things.

"Perhaps it would be in our best interest to leave now, we don't want to be caught on the end of another heartless attack." Minfilia said as the castle began shaking violently and the walls seemed to be crumbling at the seams. Minfilia noticed the hole Wolfram made from earlier and jumped towards the outside world towards freedom. Hopefully, Chandra and Wolfram would follow suit.

Wolfram nodded with a grunt, picking Chandra up and following the mage through the hole he made, jumping onto the slanted pillar he used to launch himself towards the building in the first place and slid down. Chandra giggled and seemed to enjoy the ride, her face bright with a smile. Wolfram slung his ax on his shoulder and turned to look at the crumbling structure before them. They were pretty much clear of any debris, but he kept a firm grip on his weapon just in case. The young angel was resting on the giant's arm, her arms sprawled in front and idly flicking her long sleeves playfully.

Minfilia looked around to see if Chandra and Wolfram had safely evacuated the crumbling castle, luckily they had safely made it out. Minfilia searched for any remaining signs of heartless or those 3 children. Nothing... Minfilia wasn't quite sure what to do next, with the castle gone and no sign of those kids anymore, along with Chandra having a protector now there wasn't much of a reason for her to stay around on this world anymore. Perhaps it was time to say goodbye and continue her adventures somewhere else.

Minfilia walked up to the giggling Chandra and Wolfram, "Thank you for all your help, both of you. it has been wonderful meeting you but I believe this ends my adventure here. I wish you the best of luck and farewell. She waved and walked off towards town, where she had first arrived.
