The Twilight Sun Also Rises [Open] Empty The Twilight Sun Also Rises [Open]

Post by Lucio Sun Sep 04, 2016 6:55 am

[OOC: This post takes place before the recent raids]

Wind. Rushing through him, flowing over and around his body. Each strand of hair raised up in desperation, reaching towards a freedom they could never have. His clothes pulled back, yearning to be released from their constraints, only to be yanked back in disappointment. The boy himself felt weightless, burdenless, as if nothing could hold him down. Indeed, even as he sped through the air it was as if the very force of gravity could scarcely touch him. He was flying. A feat he would normally question, perhaps even panic at, and yet he only felt… calm? Peace wasn’t a feeling he typically was content with, but here, in this world, it felt right.

All around him, light encompassed the area with a much brighter glow than one would find in Twilight Town. Whereas that world’s sun offered a warmth akin to familial comfort, this world’s sun shone with such exuberance one could feel the light energize their soul. The young man relished in an excitement he had never previously experienced. He laughed, swooping lower to take a better look at his wonderful surroundings. Below him, a beach, whose grains of sand jumped up and attempted to keep up with the soaring stranger. To his right, the ocean, who seemed particularly uninterested save for the occasional venture onto land. To his left, a forest, dense and crowded with various shades of green. Its trees huddled closely together, guarding some unspoken treasure within their congregation. And above, a twin-peaked mountain watched over the island’s inhabitants silently.

Intrigued at what may lie within the heart of this place, the boy leaned left to investigate. He rose slightly, cautious of any obstacles that may collide with him. As he came to the woods, his feet brushed over the tops of the trees and the environment immediately darkened. It seemed the mountain guardian was hesitant to let anything intrude the forest, even sunlight. The boy dipped down, perhaps in rebellion of the perfection of this world, only to be bombarded with a grievous noise. An alarm, a warning of some sorts. No: words. He struggled to make out the meaning--

“Eeexit: light! Eeenter: ni-ght! Taaake my hand! We’re off to never ne--”

Groaning, Lucio rolled over and picked up his phone from his night stand. The screen flashed the time, 09:00, incessantly as the song blared on. He swiped the screen to silence the alarm, then fell back into bed. He’d forgotten to cancel it the night before, too exhausted to remember otherwise. The twenty-year old gave a good, long yawn, which ended in a sigh. He decided that he may as well get up now. No point in wasting away the weekend.

He pulled his comforter off of himself, swinging his legs over the side of the bed and onto the floor below. The woodwork creaked slightly as he stood up, the cool material sending shivers up his legs. He stretched, raising his arms up and bending backwards slightly. A satisfying crack rewarded the boy. Fixing the blanket, he then made his way across the room towards his closet. He slid the door open, drawing a few random articles from their respective stacks, then began to change. It didn’t take long for him to put on his outfit: a dark red tee, slim blue jeans, and a black jacket. On his left wrist he wore blue watch with a brown leather strap, and his right front pocket bulged in the shape of a wallet.

The youngster wrinkled his nose as he glanced at the body mirror, unsatisfied with his appearance but doubtful that he ever would be. Shrugging, he took a few steps out of his room only to pause shortly; he seemed to be contemplating something, and it was only seconds before he turned back to grab a few more items. First, a grey strap that went around his right shoulder and the left side of his waist, stabilized by two more straps perpendicular to the first. Second, his swords <Divine> and <Eclipse>. He snapped both on his back aligned with the first strap, Divine’s handle on the bottom left and Eclipse’s on the upper right. While Twilight Town was generally a safe place, Lucio liked to keep his blades on hand. Initially, hunting Heartless was a task he’d partake in for social acceptance, although it has since evolved into a hobby that was much more gratifying personally.

After traversing down the stairs that led from the end of the hallway, Lucio knelt down to pull on his shoes. They were his favorite pair out of the two he owned: navy blue high-tops with a white outline. He tied his laces and grabbed his house keys, making sure to lock the door as he made his way out. He was too lazy to make himself breakfast, so he thought he’d stop by a café instead. The ones in Sunset Terrace were a bit rubbish, despite having a great view, so he’d have to go downtown if he wanted a good meal. The easiest way there, of course, was by tram. Fortunately, there was a stop just down the block from his place, so it didn’t take long for him to board the monorail.

As he rode the vehicle, Lucio couldn’t help but lean out the window and observe the landscape. There was a kind of timelessness to the town, even with all of its recent technological advancements--a fact his parents would constantly remind him of, as the boy himself was too young to remember what the world was like before the introduction of the Ellis Spark. Still, the twenty-year old imagined that it couldn’t have been too different from how it was now. The same red-orange sky, mirrored by the same rustic brickwork laid on every inch of the ground and nearly every building upon it. The same noisy people, hurrying their way to work, to school, chatting with friends, playing in the streets… It was home. And yet, it wasn’t quite enough.

Here’s the thing about Lucio: try as he might, he could never really feel bad about anything. Sorrow, anger, fear, jealousy… any emotion that one might perceive as negative, Lucio has never felt it. It was as if his heart was wholly incapable of such feelings. While the general public might view this trait as desirable, the young man had quite a different opinion on the matter. It wasn’t that he was discontent; he loved and appreciated his life very much. It was his mind, not his heart, that struggled with the idea of his positivity. Perhaps it was from all the books he’s read, but a life without rough patches hardly seemed like a life at all. It was for this reason Lucio sought skirmishes with Shadows and the like: adrenaline was the closest the boy could get to chaos.

But even that solution was beginning to wear off, much like a drug that has been taken too many times in too short a period. The Heartless were becoming routine, a normal part in the young man’s life. He’d need to find a new fix, and soon. He wondered if he could find one in Twilight Town, or if it was the tranquil nature of the town that was the cause for his condition. Shrugging, Lucio decided to think more on it after he had filled his stomach. He stepped off of the tram, having reached his stop, then merged with the crowd as he looked for the nearest café.

The Twilight Sun Also Rises [Open] Empty Re: The Twilight Sun Also Rises [Open]

Post by Helena Mon Sep 05, 2016 9:35 am

It was another morning and Helena found herself waking up in yet another new town. Having fell asleep on the train on the way there, she'd only notice the complete change of surrounding as she woke up. Glares from strangers pierced her as she'd move from the laying position across the several seats she was in, which she'd return with a grin and a few blinks. Rubbing her tired eyes she'd stand up and exit the train onto the platform. The girl walked outside, the setting was certainly different to the last place she was in. A golden tint covered every part that the sun's light touch. Helena gazed at the clock tower towering high, her eyes would squint from the sunlight as she tried to figure out the time. It was about quarter past nine. It seemed as though her stomach rumbled only after the realization that it was morning.

So she'd walk down the hill, she wasn't sure where she was going but the foot traffic suggested this was the way to the central part of town. It was a little strange how complacent Helena was with being in a new world, perhaps it was the fact she had just woken up but normally she'd be ecstatic and ready to discover. However, all that was on her mind at present was food. There was also something about this town that seemed strangely familiar - similar to the town she was in just before coming here. The people were dressed somewhat the same and looked rather normal. The buildings were similar apart from colour but that could have just been the golden sun this place was blessed with. Daybreak Town did seem a bit darker than this place was all Helena could think at this moment.

Finally, a cafe caught the champion's attention. Among the crowd she'd push through to get to it, a bagel and cup of coffee had her name on it. Sheer determination for these foods and the rumbling in her stomach would blind her enough to cause her to clash with someone who seemed to be heading in the same direction. "Hey! Watch where you're goi-", her grumpy morning mood would get the best of her before looking at the man before her, the swords on his back more so. "Nice swords." She'd smile. She couldn't see all of their details due to them being sheathed but just a view of the handles was enough of a view. The girl was a sucker for the fighter-types after all. Her stomach would growl loudly, reminding her instantly of the bagel she sought after.

The Twilight Sun Also Rises [Open] Empty Re: The Twilight Sun Also Rises [Open]

Post by Lucio Wed Sep 07, 2016 4:04 am

“Oh, ga-- Sorry! Sorry,” Lucio apologized upon colliding with the stranger, turning his shoulder slightly away. He must have been too lost in thought to have noticed her, in which case her anger was understandable. It wasn’t as if this was the first time he had mistakenly bumped into someone due to his negligence. Still, it was surprising to see her annoyance with him dissipate almost immediately, cutting off mid-sentence as she admired his dual blades. She must be a weapons enthusiast, he thought, or a warrior who wielded such tools herself.

He gathered it was the latter. A quick glance at her body would be enough to reveal to anyone that the girl was quite athletic. She was well built, though not excessively show, as her figure still retained its feminine curves. She looked to be about the same age as the Twilight Town native, perhaps even younger, but he guessed that she must work out more frequently than he did. It wasn’t just in her body--he could see it in the way she held herself. There was a strength in her posture, a confidence that he didn’t have himself. Truth be told, his own posture was pretty terrible; he slouched most of the time, only straightening his back when catching himself. Divine and Eclipse helped somewhat, acting as a sort of back brace.

He opened his mouth to thank the girl for the compliment, only for his words to be masked by the sound of a growling stomach. Her stomach. Unable to stop himself, he grinned widely. He hoped not to be mistaken; he wasn’t laughing at her, but smiled with the sincerity of one who had been in a similar position in the past. “There’s a café just over there, if you’re hungry,” Lucio suggested, motioning with his head, “I was actually just heading there myself if you want to come with.” It would be nice to have company for a change. Solidarity grew dull too quickly, and he might be able to apologize to the stranger properly.

The stranger… Come to think of it, he hadn’t yet introduced himself. “Um, I’m Lucio, by the way,” he added, scrunching his eyebrows in apology. He offered his right hand in greeting, continuing, “It’s nice to meet you.”

The Twilight Sun Also Rises [Open] Empty Re: The Twilight Sun Also Rises [Open]

Post by Helena Wed Sep 07, 2016 9:31 am

The girl gripped her stomach just before it would finally stop growling. Her eyes met with Lucio's grinning face, in response she pursed her lips while giving a smile. She was slightly embarrassed but such a feeling didn't last long with Helena. She looked over at the cafe then back to Lucio, her lips returning to a normal smile before she'd speak. "Sounds good to me." She paused, taking Lucio's hand and giving it a small yet firm shake. "Nice to meet you too Lucio, I'm Helena." Letting go of his hand the champion would walk towards the cafe with him.

It wasn't odd for Helena to make new friends with strangers and this was no exception. Lucio seemed like a warrior and just after seeing him, it was as though he stood out from the crowd among this town's people. Helena found herself looking quite similar to the people around her, her outfit didn't scream 'Olympic Coliseum' today. The loose, red sweater she wore had the sleeves rolled up to her just below her elbows, showing off the matching golden cuffs that clung to Helena's wrists, her high-waisted denim shorts weren't too small but still left her legs out for show, a pair of black crew socks would cover her legs from the mid-calf down to be put into a pair of teal sneakers which had white trimming and laces. Looking around, the only thing that could seperate her from the people of this world was the golden cuffs and matching necklace that came with it, the small pendant it held was a circle, with the head and helmet of an Olympian soldier on it.

"So, is this one of the better places to eat here?" Helena asked, not that it really mattered to her. It was truly the first place she had found. As the two walked in, she instantly started eyeing up the food cabinet, much to her delight they had a nice selection of bagels and toppings to go with them. It didn't take long for her to decide on a bagel with cream cheese and jelly, the beverage she'd get was always going to be a cappuccino. She turned to Lucio before she'd make her order, making the casual conversation of "do you know what you'll get?" After he'd respond she'd make her order and pay for it, the server kindly handing her a number and voicing "we'll bring it out to you when it's ready." The girl nodded, taking the number and turning around to look for somewhere to seat while Lucio would get what it was he was getting.

The Twilight Sun Also Rises [Open] Empty Re: The Twilight Sun Also Rises [Open]

After releasing the girl’s hand, Lucio turned away and began walking towards his original destination. He moved at a leisurely pace, glancing at Helena every few seconds to make sure she was still with him. As the café was nearby, it only took a minute or two for the pair to find themselves there. Before they entered, however, his new acquaintance asked if the establishment was one of the better eateries in town. The twenty-year old paused as he grabbed the door’s handle, the cool metal sending an icy sensation across his hand. He didn’t want to underwhelm the girl’s experience, but at the same time didn’t want implicate that he was taking her to eat low quality food.

“It’s…good for its prices,” he cautiously explained, swinging the door open and allowing her to step in first, “I can’t really afford to eat at the higher-end places, but… I like the food here. I come here once or twice a week when I have the time. The ones closer to my house aren’t really worth it, even though they have a nicer view.” On the other hand, he did like being able to watch people pass by the shop outside--not that he was going to tell her that. He didn’t want to unnecessarily alarm her. Not many people took time to talk to him, so he wasn’t about to squander this opportunity.

Following the girl inside, Lucio let out a small breath of relief as soon as he was able to look around. There was a small crowd already enjoying their breakfasts; families, friends, and lovers alike, some chatting cheerfully, some drowsily waiting for their order, and others eagerly stuffing their faces. Luckily, there were still plenty of tables open for Helena and himself to be seated at. He was suddenly glad that he had woken up as early as he did and had arrived so soon after the café’s opening; the lines usually got a bit rough later in the day.

The two entered the queue and began scanning the selection they had. “I think I’ll get his my usual,” he answered the Olympian’s query, uninterested in any of the other items currently available. “A cup of English Breakfast tea and a croissant breakfast sandwich.” After she ordered, Lucio quickly stepped forward and relayed to the cashier what he had just told Helena. He handed over his money as he did so, having already expected the price. The server rang it up and exchanged the cash for a number, which the young man would grab before walking back over to Helena. Once they found a seat, he’d put the number on the edge of the table and ask if the girl if she was from out of town, referring to her early question of whether the cafe was one of the better places to eat “here”. Come to think of it, her accessories--the golden cuffs and matching necklace--looked a little out of place, but he had initially assumed that they were just her personal style.

The Twilight Sun Also Rises [Open] Empty Re: The Twilight Sun Also Rises [Open]

Post by Toma Fri Sep 09, 2016 2:06 am

Its been one day since Cale came over to this world, and already he was forced to work off a small debt he accumulated. How was I supposed to know the tables could break after a hearty slam with my fist. Well might just have to do the most of the final day of my shift. I think I might be getting overtime for now. Cale thinks as he waits for the latest orders to be ready, taking a long sip of his water. Within a few minutes he saw familiar and new faces come in and out of the shop. Then one of the few "Regulars" as the manager called it, showed up with a newcomer. "Welcome." Cale says half heartedly as they entered. By the time the two ordered Cale was told he could change out of the uniform, he was done for the day and that he finally payed off the debt. "Oh thank Ares, I was going insane here, No offense."Cale says as he gives a sheepish smile. "I'll just take the last orders to there tables. Wont be to hard." As Cale says this he is already carrying the Orders to the table. When he finally found the numbers he sighed slightly, seeing who it was. "Hello sir, Here are your meals, as well as mind if I join you two here? Just got off my shift, and you two seem like nice people." Cale says placing the plates in front of them, while pulling a nearby chair to sit with them. After taking a sip of his water, looks at both of them, and then quickly catches on to a mistake he made. "Oh sorry, I did not mean to be rude. My name is Cale Toma, traveler of lands, and apparently now a local friend to Cafe's" He says with a smile, shifting his hair out of his face.

The Twilight Sun Also Rises [Open] Empty Re: The Twilight Sun Also Rises [Open]

Post by Helena Sun Sep 18, 2016 1:50 am

Helena took a seat at the table, fiddling a little with the napkin there before putting it down to talk to Lucio. "Yeah, I'm from somewhere far away I guess.. I'm not sure what the name of this town even is!" Helena laughed, for someone who was lost she was awfully relaxed. "It doesn't seem very dangerous though so that's nice. How about you? You seem like one of the locals but I may be wrong." The girl sipped at her water awaiting a reply from Lucio. It wouldn't be too far into their conversation when their food would arrive, along with another person to sit with.

"I don't mind if you sit with us." Helena smiled as the newcomer placed the food and coffee before the pair. "Nice to meet you Cale, I'm Helena... I guess I can call myself a traveler now." Her tone was friendly and warm. Something about having food in front of her just made her that much more delightful to be around. In saying that the champion was definitely more of an extroverted person. Helena brought her attention back to Lucio before tending to her food.

Her bagel was toasted and split in half as expected, butter, cream cheese and jelly came in their own little bowls for the girl to spread herself. Eagerly the champion took to this, taking her knife and spreading a thin layer of butter over piece of the bagel, on one side she spread the cream cheese followed by the jelly before she'd put the two pieces of the bagel together and bite into it. It had been quite awhile since she had eaten. The taste sensation of savoury and sweet mixed together in her mouth, a smile on her face as she chewed simply showed how glad she was to have some food.

The Twilight Sun Also Rises [Open] Empty Re: The Twilight Sun Also Rises [Open]

Post by Lucio Sun Sep 18, 2016 4:52 am

“Twilight Town,” Lucio told the girl, in response to her comment. He thought it strange for her to end up in a place she didn’t even know the name of, but decided not to probe further. “And you’re right. I’m a Twilight Town native, born and raised. It’s very peaceful here…we do get a few Heartless attacks every now and then, but nothing too terrible.” He smiled at her, but the expression seemed to hide a hollowness--as if he were dissatisfied with his world’s peace. But that would be ridiculous, wouldn’t it? Before he could speak further on the matter, their orders arrived, along with an extremely friendly waiter asked to sit down with them.

“Yeah, no problem,” he replied in unison with Helena. He didn’t mind the company, and wasn’t bothered by the waiter’s sudden entrance. In fact, one would be hard pressed to find something that actually bothered the young man. He was glad, however, that Cale seemed to be within their age group; Lucio might have been a bit more awkward had he been older. It was easier for him to deal with those younger in age, BUT THAT DID NOT MEAN HE WAS A PEDOPHILE OR ANYTHING OF THE SORT OKAY. He also took notice of the other man’s golden-orange eyes; having odd silver irises himself, he found it rather comforting to be near one of similar strangeness. “Lucio. It’s nice to meet you too.”

He took a second to bring his cup of tea to his lips, testing its temperature with a quick intake of breath. It seemed a bit too hot to drink at the moment, so he set it down for now. The mug slightly clinked as it the wooden table, but Lucio had been gentle enough where it wouldn’t break. He then picked up the croissant--which had been wrapped in brown paper--and began to speak to the others before taking a bite. “Ha, just my luck…I run into two travelers in one day. I’ve always wanted to travel beyond town, but...well, I guess I’ve been so preoccupied with life, you know? I mean… I’ve heard of Gummi
Ships, but I’ve never really looked into obtaining one. I guess you’d need money for that? Anyways, how did…how did you two travel here?”

While he waited for a response from either one of them, Lucio took a bite out of his food. He exhaled as he the warm food entered his mouth--while his hunger certainly played a factor in his satisfaction, the dish itself was just so damn good. The soft, fluffiness of the croissant...the crisp crunch of the bacon juxtaposed against the smoothness of the omelette...the juiciness of the sliced tomatoes...and the flavors! The savoriness of the meat and egg paired with the ever-so-slightly sweet tomato and mayo...It just made the dish. He chewed slowly, savoring every bite and making sure not to put it to waste. Yeah, today was a good day so far.

As Cale rested from the shift he partook in as he listened to these two strangers. When he heard that the girl, Helena, was also a traveler. Then there was Lucio, who apparently wanted to leave this place. "So Helena, if you don't mind me asking, but what world are you from? I personally came from Olympus." Cale notes as he takes another sip of water. "Yeah, traveling is fun, untill you find something you cant win against. Also.....When it comes to gummie ships I have a larger one than most people have.....Was supplied by my wife. " Cale says as he shudders slightly, imagining in his mind the image of that day. Quickly Cale got over it, and looked at the two in front of him, enjoying there perplexed and satisfied looks as they ate, while taking a sip of his water.

Post by Helena Thu Sep 22, 2016 11:13 am

Helena managed to get through at least half of her bagel before it would come her time to take part in the conversation again. Lucio was a local as she assumed and strangely enough Cale was from the exact same place she was, it was odd she hadn't seen him before or vice versa. In fact, it was enough to put a confused expression on her face as she placed down her bagel. "Actually, I'm from Olympus too. I spend a lot of time in the arena so you may have seen me before but it's funny to meet someone from home all the way out here." Helena's expression returned to a relaxed state, her tone with it.

She flashed a grin at Lucio. "There's other ways. I made it here from Daybreak Town by train, rumored to be magic so perhaps you could catch it from here one day too?" She paused, looking up and holding her chin in thought. "Before that however, I was knocked out in the arena then woke up in a new world. It's rather concerning but I've always been interested in travel so I suppose it was lucky." The girl spoke casually, telling the two strangers about her travels so far and her odd means of getting places.

Picking up her bagel Helena used her other hand to take her coffee and sip at it before biting into her food again. She was interested in their response to her openness on her experiences. Her gaze moved to Cale for a moment, trying to remember whether she had seen him before or not but she came to the conclusion she had not. It seemed he must have been traveling awhile now, she didn't notice anything resembling their home like the accessories she wore herself. Maybe it was a good idea to not let on to everyone in a new place that you're outsider? No one had pointed her out so far so it all seemed fine for now.

Post by Lucio Fri Sep 23, 2016 1:33 am

Lucio swallowed his food in surprise, covering his mouth as he spoke. “Oh, no kidding? Both of you are from the same place?” Today was surely a day of chances. Perhaps, it would even serve up a chance for him to finally break free of his own sedentary lifestyle...The young man stopped himself from speaking further, as the other two others continued on. While keeping his sandwich in one hand, he used his free one to pick up his mug of tea. Enough time should have passed for the drink to have cooled down, prompting him to take a test sip, followed by a much larger gulp. To the Twilight Towner’s satisfaction, he could feel the heat travel down his chest. However, he didn’t let the enjoyment of his meal to divert his attention from the current conversation.

It turned out that Cale had a gummi ship--Lucio almost interrupted to ask if he could hitch a ride with the other man, when Helena offered an alternative. “I almost feel stupid, he scoffed at himself, scratching his eyebrow out of embarrassment, “Hearing about the trains...I feel like I should have known. I never thought to check them out, y’know; I had always assumed that some sort of...spaceship was needed. I mean, I guess it’s good thing. I don’t like having to rely on others... Biting into his sandwich again, the boy chewed in silence for several seconds. Despite looking straight ahead, his eyes seemed to wander to some unseen landscape.

“Hey,” he suddenly started, his eyes blinking back to full awareness. He swallowed the rest of his food--which he probably should have done already, but his body had been moving automatically as it usually did when he was deep in thought--and looked at the two Olympians. “What are the other worlds like?”

Cale was a bit surprised to find that Helena was from the same world as him, He never saw girls in the military, and he didn't visit places other than his home and occasionally the temples. "Yeah, I don't meet many people on my travels that are from the same place as my self." He says as he smiles towards her. When she mentioned a train Cale shrugs. He heard of rumors about a ghost train here but he never went to investigate. "Well if anyone wants to come with me on my ships, I have plenty of space." Cale mentions as he turns his attention to Lucio, he asked about the other worlds. Thinking about it a bit, he never really liked traveling the diffrent worlds as a "Special Force." Sighing Cale looks up at the sky. "The other worlds vary to be honest, I remember going from world to world fighting. Some worlds are nice and peaceful like this one, then theres worlds that are free and fresh, like Neverland and the Pride lands. Other than that I don't know what else to say other than traveling has only caused me pain and suffering." Cale says looking back towards the two of them. His eyes showed his emotions even when his face betrayed it, as his eyes where full of sadness.
