Faerie of the Woodlands || Pooka
<Faerie of the Woodlands>
As an ancient Faerie, the Pooka is under the divine protection of the Moon and Nature. Both grant their assistance whenever the user requires it. In consequence, plant- and moon-based abilities, skills, and spells are both slightly more effective.
Tier One
<cynhaliaeth>
Requires soil to be nearby. When the user is hungry, food matter will spontaneously grow at his location. This includes fruit, vegetables, and the like, as well as vegetation that store things such as water, nectar, or sap.
<llwybr>
When moving through areas of thick or dense foliage, plants will move or lean out of the user’s way. Once the Pooka has traveled past them, they will recede back into their natural position.
<synhwyro>
The user can innately sense the position of any plant life within several miles. However, he cannot identify what kind of plant it is without seeing it.
<newid>
Grants the ability to shapeshift into any animal he has previously touched, although non-magical/fantastic creatures are typically easier and require less energy. (It should be noted that transforming into such magical creatures does not enable the user access to their magical abilities, only biological/physical ones.) He may also change his size, or make his features more anthropomorphic. In any form he takes, the Pooka retains his black hide/fur and his golden eyes. This transformation will usually take a few seconds to complete; it is not instantaneous. Interruption during the transformation will result in a failure, and the user maintains his previous form.
<swyn cwsg>
When sleeping, the user is rendered unnoticeable by non-Faeries. This is done by tricking a passerby into thinking that the Pooka is insignificant; those affected sense him, but his presence doesn’t register in their minds. Those with an affinity for the Moon are also unaffected by this ability.
<gwella>
All of the user’s stats are moderately increased when directly under moonlight or surrounded by a vast amount of plant life (e.g. a forest, a garden, or a field). If within both, this effect is doubled.
Tier Two
<trywydd>
Requires soil. If the user is being chased, this skill can be used to leave a trail of thorns, roots, etc. that follow his footsteps. This is intended to trip, hinder, and harm his pursuer. Some of the plant growth may also be poisonous and induce rashes or inflammation.
<rhwystr>
Requires the user to be on or near soil. When in danger, thick, thorny vines will spontaneously grow and weave a barrier between the Pooka and the attack. In addition, the barrier will be imbued with the power of the Moon. The strength of this skill is represented by the combination of the user’s MAG and SYN stats.
<arfwisg>
Requires the user to be near soil. The Pooka can grow himself clothing or armor, woven from vines and other plant life. In addition, the armor will be strengthened by the power of the Moon. The strength of this skill is represented by the combination of the user’s MAG and SYN stats.
<iachâd>
The Pooka may heal his wounds by draining the life force from plant matter. Bigger or more numerous plants are necessary for greater wounds, but this skill does grow stronger with the user’s Character Tier.
<glanhau lleuad>
The user can “bathe” in Moonlight to cure himself of any status effects and fatigue. While this process does take several minutes to complete fully, a higher Character Tier will slightly quicken it.
Tier Three
<rhwystr cromen>
An evolution of <rhwystr>. Requires the user to be on or near soil. When in danger, thick, thorny vines will spontaneously grow and weave a dome around the Pooka and any allies. In addition, the barrier will be imbued with the power of the Moon. The strength of this skill is represented by the combination of the user’s MAG and SYN stats.
<fyddin cysgod>
Requires soil. Seven copies of the user are grown from plant life. Moonlight wraps around each one, giving each the appearance of the Pooka; this illusion is nulled when under actual moonlight but will return once out of it. Each doppelganger imitates every action of the original in real time, and has the same stats as him.
<coeden fawr>
Requires a large expanse of soil. An enormous tree is grown from underneath the user, reaching a height of about three stories.
<rhodder hadau>
For any spell, skill, or ability that requires soil to activate, a single seed may be used as a substitute (in the case of abilities where more than one item is created, multiple seeds are necessary). However, the material of anything grown will be reflective of the seed utilized; a sunflower seed will grow sunflowers, an oak tree will grow an oak, etc.
