The Koiking Festival: Gill-gamesh (Open) Empty The Koiking Festival: Gill-gamesh (Open)

Author's Note: This topic takes place a week after the events of Realtor Meeting.

Landing in the midst of the ocean, a lesser man would have face planted on the not too distant shore. Opening his eyes, the water was clearer than what he had grown accustomed to. Before rising to the surface, he scanned the ocean in search of a particular reef. The reef in question held clues to an important device, specifically designed to bring peace amongst colliding worlds. Land and sea were once in constant war, it was fitting the item responsible for their treaty would be located on neutral ground.

After taking note of the reef's coordinates, he called upon Origami, Minor. As it appeared in the shape of a sea turtle, he instructed it gather details about the reef. Due to the approximated time of Mimi's return, Ricky swam to shore. As he stepped onto the wet sand, the Sun beaming, unimpeded by clouds above, he did not go so far out the waves did not periodically wash over his sandals, and stuck his umbrella with a notable, green parrot head, into the ground.

Should he catch the attention of any onlookers, they'd see a young man, drying out a short sleeved, unbuttoned button up. It had two blocks of color, yellow on top and blue on the bottom, but on the back there was an orange half circle on the top yellow, seemingly cut off by the bottom blue. Afterwards, he'd empty the sand from the pockets of his maroon swim trunks, while carefully avoiding his Star Shard, not wishing to reveal it. Finally, he checked his left ring finger to make sure he had not lost the appropriate jewelry.

After situating himself, he would direct himself to the crowd of people on the beach. It seemed they had gathered in celebration of The Koiking. Judging by the damage of nearby buildings off the beach, there had been a natural disaster, and, in an attempt to rebuild the island, this festival was being held. Ricky concluded from its aesthetic design, the people of the island were celebrating the annual passing of a giant, red scaled...fish. Many children still played in the ocean despite this, alluding to the passive nature of the creature.

Ricky settled on spending his time at the festival, while he awaited Mimi's return.

The Koiking Festival: Gill-gamesh (Open) Empty Re: The Koiking Festival: Gill-gamesh (Open)

Post by Salem Fri Sep 23, 2016 4:05 pm

A creaking break of metal and wood resounded somewhere in the town of destiny as a young child barely past the horrors of puberty slipped out from the building at a dashing speed and concerning pace. He popped off the streets hopping on the roads to put his dark blue and red shorts shorts properly with his bare top of flesh, likely flashing a few cars and bystanders while he rushed on by. He didn't too much as the rush of a time limited was hot at his heel though he may remember this when things settled more. His speed lead him through the out part of the town before reaching the huge beautiful beach where the people were starting to gathering and claim a spot on the beach for their families and friends.

“Ah sweet it looks like it hasn't started yet!”

Salem's blue eyes lite up with sheer excitement at the matching clear colour of the sparkling pristine beach came into view, it was a sheer sight to behold, such a vast natural clean pool of water. His bright angelic face lit up brighter and brighter while he drew close. Enough for him to lose his consideration bone and crushed a few sand castles underneath his black sandals. Some of the toddlers were making with their parents, prompting some pretty vocal responses while he adjusted himself.

The adults snares didn't call his attention but rather the chain of tears and screeching did as they started from behind in almost a chained harmony, ruining their innocent demeanour was much more effective attention grabber then a under breath lecture to him from the adults. The kids they could actually change their ways.

Stopping in his tracks with a slightly worried expression Salem twisted around and passed the old folk trying to catch him. He himself in a closest area nearest the kid,s younger then even himself, placing silly smile and google eyes on himself, dancing a little from toe to toe as he pulled his moderately long hetrochromia hair, pulling at the blue and red ends as he tried to tame down their sorrows.

It felt like it was working from their silence though confusion took its place as they looked onto the makeshift clown in frowning curiosity.

Thinking fast while establishing himself back to his normal persona Salem's eyes sparked with an idea. He enchanted the sand around him to obey his commands forming a huge statue of himself just behind in front of the adults while making larger and larger constructions around the kids. Walls of sand and towers leading to about an average adult's height surrounding them as the beating sun below shinned on.

Their own personal castle to play and make as they wanted, allowing Salem to play with them for a bit while the people were still gathering down for the main events and likely in wonder at this now movable sand play pen. The kids paused before trying to interact with the scary new landscape, finding then they could control, lowering the quality of the structure but fun interactive place for them.

The Koiking Festival: Gill-gamesh (Open) Empty Re: The Koiking Festival: Gill-gamesh (Open)

I'm probably not going to survive this one.

Isla's travel had been chaotic. He suspected the curse had, once again, foiled his intentions. But that was then, and this is now.

He was falling from a huge distance, straight into the ocean. All the while, he was arguing the physics of it in his head. Can you fall into water from any distance?

He remembered some arbitrary fact that falling into water from a high enough distance was like hitting cement.

Oh. I'm really going to die. For what?

A flash of inspiration like an angel's feather falling. He remembered seeing such a creature fall from the heavens, and a last-ditch effort was forged in Isla's mind.

The only things he had fallen with was his notebook and the broken blade - the rest got lost in the chaotic transit.

Opening the book, Isla panicked as pages were ripped out by the turbulence. Poems, stories, and drawings would look like a plucked dove's remnants as they flew to the corners of the world, where the winds stopped to rest.

Isla grabbed a hold of one page, though, and discarded the rest. He didn't worry about the blade - if the past was anything to base the future off of, it would return to him if lost, eventually. For now, he concentrated on the paper. If he could turn words into reality, and words were lost to him now, then...

A sharp pain infiltrated Isla's entire being, like his blood was hardening and developing thorns. His entire body ached as he was anchored to a strange blue light, phantasmal gears and levers that had no purpose beginning to materialize around him. To an onlooker, their eyes would be met with an ethereal contraption that flickered and fell faster with each passing second. When Isla hit the water, a thirty-foot-tall spray of water launched directly upwards and outwards as the waves lost their natural meter.

The shade had faded, and only the sickly body remained, floating on its back. Isla was unconscious, but the waves would eventually carry him to shore, if nothing unnatural occurred.

Then, he would be on the shore, his pale skin cooking in the direct sunlight.

Marching forward, he became easily invested in the celebration. You could always peek Ricky's interest by providing a variety of snacks to munch on. And while he wasn't particularly wealthy, it seemed his currency transferred with no complications. Feasting on diverse cuisine, such as shrimp kebabs or oyster baskets, he noticed an interactive sandbox. Had he not been preoccupied eating, he might have been inclined to inspect the phenomena.

In passing, he had come to the conclusion it was the workings of the very obvious foreigner, who seemed the most naturally inclined in its manipulation. However, that might be attributed to his peers being inexperienced children, yet the rest of the presented evidence still favored his initial presumption. Before he was able to engage further, a swift shadow sped across the ground. Immediately turning to the ocean, he caught glimpse of the impact. While some had noticed the shooting star, everyone was surprised at the crash landing; this was clearly unexpected.

Immediately, the volunteer lifeguards cleared the waters of civilians and began to swim towards the landing site; they needed to see if the fallen had survived. Pulling out a sole, unconscious individual, the landing site was otherwise empty. Whether or not there were any items of value that may have been dropped by the injured, rescue was their objective. If uninterrupted, they would immediately bring him to shore and apply all medical knowledge based on the symptoms presented.

Meanwhile, people gathered to spectate, a common response to this situation. While Ricky was interested, he could not meaningfully participate -- becoming absorbed by the audience was dreadfully uninteresting. He could collect the important information once the individual regained consciousness. And as the children left the sandbox to join their parents, Ricky decided this would be the ideal time to use his investigative eye. He planted his umbrella in the ground before squatting and mildly testing the playpen's sensitivity to his movements.

Salem and the children laughed loudly as they played without restrain to their antics, a few little flicks of sand were being thrown around like a food fight among the slightly older ones. Ensuring no harm to their tiny little eyes the boy ensured the enchanted sand to simple fall before reaching a target anything above neck line. It was then when the growl of his stomach cried out in sound drawing his attention and sense towards the sweet sweet open pen of earthly delights. The kids should be fine right? Parents and all that around.

The boy would make his way towards the same food source while rubbing his abs in wonder to the idea of it being fully nourished. However a different event would unfold first as a shooting star, a strange causality of space debris burning in a world's atmosphere was crashing down near the beach, maybe a meteor or something? No the air smelled of magics was coming from the hurling object.

Salem fell into the coward that gathered around the subject as the life guards cried out their orders, it was quite a rush of bodies pushing past him to try and get a better look, enough to pretty much block out the sun light with their heights towering over the small child enchanter.

Annoyed at the lack of consideration the boy would wonder off a little further closer to the water, embedding it with his magics similar to the sand castle Salem took heed of the area. Holding on eye closed while another appeared just at the edge of the water closest to the fallen victim for him to inspect the current situation from afar, hopefully from curious or perceptive eyes.

Even as his heartbeat slowed, powerful blows would reignite the engine within. Water geysered from his mouth as Isla's consciousness reasserted itself, like a hat that was blown away by the wind that his mind just caught up to after a long run. His vision blurred as he returned to the waking realm, his first sensation being the realization of having sand in some very uncomfortable places.

Oh, yeah. I was crashing.

Between coughs, Isla managed to ask the small crowd of his destination.

"I-Is this Radiant Garden?" Even though this place looked nothing like home, he held onto hope. He hadn't been on every corner of the world. This could be on the other side of the world.

His head felt like it was full of those super-bouncy balls and every cough rattled them around furiously. Pushing himself to a sitting position, he took note of the broken blade laying beside him. His mind was addled. Isla took some deep breaths, and tried to understand his situation.

One of the lifeguards confirmed Isla's fears, saying that he was in the middle of a festival in Destiny Islands.

Great. By the looks and sounds of these people, they lack the refinement that could lead me to Radiant Garden. At least I have my sh-

He realized the ship had flown into the ocean, carried off by different currents and a different fate than his own.

Isla sighed. He stood in the thinning crowd (after he 'pulled through', the public was less interested in him and left) and felt his clothes. Soaked. A shock of panic raced through his body as his bony hands rummaged his coat, peace only found when the rustic garnets were located safely in his pocket. The favors of Sezrix.

One of the lifeguards tossed him so dry clothes and a mesh bag. The clothes seemed to be the same as the lenders, like a uniform or something. Forgetting about modesty (not that Isla ever really had any, no use for the commodity as a vagrant), he stripped and replaced his clothes with dry ones, putting the sopping clothes in the drawstring mesh bag and closing it tightly.

Time to start again..

Isla began walking along the coastline, trying to find an unmanned boat that he could 'borrow' and use to find his ship. If it still worked.. if he could figure out how to work the boat he found.. IF there was a boat..

Isla shook his head. No time to worry about ifs. At the very least, he could always come back to town.

The sandbox was surprisingly responsive, Ricky was able to create simple pulley systems despite the sand's natural limitations. This magic was complex and he assumed an ulterior motive, yet didn't find himself too threatened by the foreigner -- he was careless. And while a powerful, loose canon would seem to pose a more immediate problem, Ricky was all too assured in his ability to outthink the man should it come to blows.

As the crowd thinned, he left the play pen, mice sized pulley systems in place. If the children didn't destroy it when they returned, it might serve as an easter egg and provoke the caster to approach. If the enchanter was busy elsewhere, Ricky would find a way to butt in. And he would have done so immediately, should he had not spotted the survivor wandering about in new garbs.

Taking equal strides beside him, twirling about Parrot Head, the sleuth began, "I'm Enrique Rodriguez," keeping the inflection of his name honest to its Spanish roots, he spoke his name as if he should have been immediately recognized. "But, you? I like you. You can call me Ricky."

"So, tell me, Icarus, why so fond of the Sun?"

Interrupted almost immediately. However, Isla appreciated the reference to literature, and Ricky had a certain charm about him. "It's the Light that guides me to new life." He said matter-of-factly. His eyes moved to the horizon, longingly, as if his stare could act as a beacon, nay, a portal to the far-off stars.

"I am Isla Meerie. It's a pleasure to meet you, Ricky, but I must go find my ship. I need to get home." His tone wasn't rushed, but it was full of sadness. The longer he traveled, the more he loved the places he came across. Isla wanted to know every nook and cranny, every divine text, every flavor of the world he was on. He felt a similar pull of exploration at the Crystal Castle, but he snuffed the curious flame and pressed on. The fire was getting bigger, though, and Isla was so frail he was afraid it might envelope him.

I just fell thousands of feet above an alien world and lived. Giddiness accompanied the thought, and he couldn't fight back a smile. What was wrong with him? His introvert tendencies defied the feelings of joy he had. To appease his inner flame, Isla delayed with a question.

"But first, what is this celebration?" Isla motioned toward the festivities.

As the stranger started to wake up Salem tried to get a little closer with his extend magic eye drifting just a hair in as the wave moved up the shore. However too focused a small hermit crab ran into the magical focus, sending the sensory information directly to the boy's real eye. He stumbled back with a little shirk of pain as the sea creature poked him quite firmly in the eye and dispelling his concentration.

It took a little while of consent blinking and ducking some sea water into his eye to make it feel a little bitter then normal again from the sudden surprised. Looking over the rest of the crowd after a little recover the blue hair child walked a little back to his sand kingdom, shrugging at the excitement that quickly dispersed and the person whom he saw hurt gone.

The sun was nice still beating down like a kind warm mother along his hair and face, so good to feel the warmth underneath his skin while stretching out arm to arm over his shoulders. Salem would then see the kids in joy with his magical creations playing with their own finding then a much more complex interactive tool crafted in his sand. Crossing systems that played in different orders of activation yet functioned enough to not cross or break. The idea of physics or motion crafted out not from his magic but another's person insight.

“Oh! Sand tell me whom crafted this?”

The sand still beating with magical life draw a directly line in itself, like a stick marking its path which Salem followed leaving the kids to ruining the complexity again. He looked down following the parting line path, ignoring adults cursing at him to watch it or the feeling of flesh being stepped on as he walked on a few backs literally.

The Enchanter in his haste would greet Ricky's form much sooner then expected almost likely to head bump a little into the other boy depending on his reactions speeds.

Stopping in his tracks best he could Salem looked up for the moment before honestly offering his surface thoughts at an abrasive speed.

“Oh hey! Mister your the one that crafted the rope pulley thingy into the sand castle back there?”

Turning to see another shadow Salem curiously peeked over to see the other fellow. This time with a wider expression of concern, recalling this male as the one that had washed up shore though wearing something much different then last time he saw Isla.

“You washed up shore! You fell from the skies and stuff right? What were you doing? Are you ok?”

People were usually unprepared for his metaphors, so he was astonished when Isla, as he regarded himself, responded in kind. Unfortunately, this led to his bait failing -- Ricky really wanted to show off. But one did not become the universe's greatest detective with intelligence alone, but perseverance.

"And that's why you're searching for a boat." He reaffirmed, the implication unfortunately obvious. "I'm merely 10 minutes your senior, but as far as I can tell: This is the Koiking Festival. The island celebrates the passing of a massive, red fish on his most notable stop across universe. He jumps across the sky right before sunset, his arrival preceded by a geyser know as Destiny's Aperture."

"Based on the destruction of the skyline across the beach, this is an effort to restore the island from its most recent natural disaster."
He concluded, having taken note of the type of damage afflicted. A hurricane had come through, the shore retreating and the wind tearing down the weakened structures.

The enchanter arrived, accusing him of the pulley system he had left. Hook, line, and sinker, at least one of his lines caught. "Yes, that was me, Enchanter. Might I say, I'm rather impressed with your magical finesse. I'm Ricky, may I ask your name?" He inquired.

Anyone with wandering eyes would notice a peculiar, turtle shaped sea creature making its way towards the group.

Though his excitement grew when the details of the festival, his feelings were snuffed. The crowding made Isla uncomfortable. While excited to make new friends and discover new things, the man's weariness was a noxious odor that wafted into his excitement and tainted it. A convenient gathering of strangers who didn't seem to be strangers; 'Enchanter' was a name of at least some familiarity. Though, based on the questioning from the sorcerer, it was a one-sided understanding. Looking at Ricky, Isla realized that this must be some sort of conscription. Enrique had brought the attention of the arcane spinster to himself, but for what purpose?

Isla concluded that he was probably just a bystander to this act, but the questions riddled him. Then, the spotlight was swiveled by the careless shoulder of insight.

"I was crashing. And, well, I'm as fine as someone is after such."

The strangeness of the event was familiar. It reminded Isla of the cons he saw run on the streets, where coincidence was a tool used against the gullible. He kept his expression and hopes guarded.

Ahh so this was the fellow that made that system, it was like its own kinda magic but emulated nothing of the sort from what Salem could figure out. It was like how does a towel soak up water or how you can see faded translucent image in a piece of glass not directly in front of you like a ghost. The world was such a big place with all these wonderfully magics and unexplained running about.

“Ohh neat! So how does their magic work? Like pulling on a rope normally takes a lot more effort but just adding wheels to the thing made the work a lot easier I found when playing with it. And thank you! I'm Salem from the world like two stars away from here I don't know its official name but that one.”

While explaining he bounced around a little with just a tiny glimmer of excitement to find another wizard about like he was. If he could learn more about this wonder then he'd surely come across more to understand and improve for the worlds.

He'd turn soon after to Isla, quick on his heals and focus now being drawn to the strange man whom had just fallen from such a distance. The water surely would have broken his fall so that was something to be thankful about.

“I'm glad to hear your ok, fallen from that height must have hurt a lot. Its a good thing you hit water instead of soild ground, you might be flattened like a pancake otherwise. Did you want some healing for any pains?
” he'd asked the introvert while rasising his hands in a dim green light.
