Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open] Empty Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open]

Post by Clarisse Sun Oct 09, 2016 12:55 am

It was tragic to see, really. A newly found world was taken and tainted so heavily by the darkness. Camelot was in a precarious state, to say the least. When it was found, the world appeared to be doing so very well. People flourished, civilization was well off enough that the Darkson rule felt no need to intervene. Something changed that, however. That’s what she was sent there for.

After receiving a very frantic report, Clarisse was sent to Camelot to investigate and possibly remedy the issue should it be within her power. The report claimed that a malevolent force called Blight had taken hold of the world’s capital. Never did the summoner think that it would be nearly as bad was what it was.

Stepping out of the Corridor of Light that she used to transport her to the world, the blonde young woman gazed about at the unsettling state of Camelot. With her ever present companion, Cambria the Ursa, sitting on her shoulder, even she was left shaking her head. Thick, vine like growths had spread over everything in sight. Some of the vines had grown so dense in some areas that it mimicked a conglomerations of muscle fibers. Homes, businesses, and other structures were covered in it. Plantlife appeared to still be growing, but the vibrant colors that foliage has was sapped away. This must have been the aforementioned Blight that was spoken of.

“Good god almighty… What monster would unleash such a stain on an entire world..?” Cambria’s tone was full of pity and sadness as she looked around the scene in front of her. The woman whose shoulder she sat on would shake her head in agreement.

Seeing the state of the world, it was time to set to work. It was now evident why it was her that was sent there. To cleanse the blight with light. Stepping forward into the first place that was spacious enough, Clarisse began to use holy magic on the immediate area to try and heal the world and free it of its affliction. It was a long process, and didn’t appear to be burned away by the holy light all that easily. She worked on one patch at a time, and it took a lot out of her.

The square that she had cleansed took several hours, and it was only a small part of the city. Sitting on the wall of a fountain that sat at its center, Clarisse wiped the sweat from her brow, silently sighing out and she turned her single eye skyward. The Ursa had managed to crawl onto the wall and sat beside her summoner and looked up at her.

“Careful, Clair-bear. Wear yourself out too much an’ you won’t have the strength to continue.” Cambria warned the blonde. She’d get a nod in response, and closed her eyes. The bear-like creature sighed out and gazed about Clarisse’s work. They definitely had their work cut out for them.

Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open] Empty Re: Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open]

Post by Luke Z. Mon Oct 10, 2016 7:23 pm

Luke had received a very specific set of orders (begged for, of course), to come and investigate not only his missing Crows, but to see what in the hell their reports spoke of. Clad in his full set of futuristic samurai armor, the young man had teleported to Camelot in an instant. A hand had quickly reached to grip at the hilt of his sword, seeing as the place was designated as a "red-zone," the informant couldn't really take any chances. Thankfully, his suit was made to handle any hazardous situation be it environmental, or combat based.

The details went as followed: He was to relocate himself onto the world of Camelot, rendezvous with another a woman sent from the current queen of the Darkson's, and help with restoration of the world, while he searched for any intel regarding the sickness dubbed, "Blight."

Luke was honestly disgusted with what he saw. A world that was contaminated by what appeared to be an amalgamation of rot, corruption, and something out of a science-fiction movie. The local area was covered in it, being converted into god knew what. Careful steps had to be taken as he wandered into the city. His HUD had registered that a lot of the surrounding area could be registered as a living entity of some sort. The morphology was unknown and turned up many errors, meaning that the contamination was foreign in every sense of the word. That just made the job much harder.

It wouldn't have taken long for the armor-clad figure to have come upon a woman. She had sat down against a fountain, surrounded by what appeared to be an area cleansed of the Blight. There was something off about the whole situation, which made Luke wonder if that was the contact he was supposed to meet up with. "Hey!" He called out towards the stranger, his voice distorted due to the helmet he wore. "You doing alright over there?"

The young man called, taking a cautious approach to the whole ordeal. He'd wait for an answer of any kind, before making any further movements.

Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open] Empty Re: Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open]

Post by Clarisse Tue Oct 11, 2016 1:45 am

After having sat there on the dried up fountain for some time, the sound of footsteps had attracted both Clarisse’s and Cambria’s attention. The man clad in armor was a peculiar sight, and one that had the summoner shivering. Her one visible eye was wide and staring right at the figure, finding the sound of his distorted voice a bit unsettling. Now that she was aware that someone was watching her, the blond grew more self-conscious and turned her eye over to the Ursa, the other covered with a flowery eyepatch.

Cambria would sigh out and turn her attention to the new comer. “Yes, we’re quite alright. Just takin’ a well earned break. I take it you’ll be the bloke that guards us while we cleanse this Blight?” The bear would ask, hopping off of the fountain’s wall and teetering towards the man. She was still on edge, of course. There was a chance that it was someone under the Blight’s influence, but it was more likely than not that he was the man that Queen Morgan had requested come to help them. Standing some feet in front of the armor-clad man, Cambria looked up at him with her paws on her hips, awaiting his response..

It took a moment, but Clarisse had managed to wobble to her feet, taking her staff back up into her hands and remaining silent where she stood. Her head was tipped down in a shy a manner, looking at the stranger with an upturned eyes and clutching her staff close to her budding chest. She wore a smile, yet elegant, white dress that came to her knees. It was a halter-top that tied behind her neck with a big blue ribbon which showed clearly from under she short cut, blond hair. Tied neatly in her hair was a white ribbon that had managed to simulate bunny ears. Criss-crossed up her legs were long strands of blue ribbon, and a pair of white sandals on her feet.

“Clair-bear, honey, c’mere an’ say hello. This man came all this way to help, and you’re jus’ standin’ there bein’ antisocial.” The Ursa waved a paw, gesturing for the summoner to come closer. She’d nod, and would do just that, coming closer and standing before the man. She’d give a polite bow and offer a soft smile and wave.

Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open] Empty Re: Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open]

Post by Luke Z. Thu Oct 20, 2016 2:14 pm

They didn't attack him on sight and they definitely didn't share any traits that belonged to the blight. Even his own scanners weren't picking up any foreign contaminants on them, which was another positive in his book.

A response given from the bear creature and her method of speaking had been one of those things, where it made him more confident to say that the two before him weren't the bad guys they were tasked to put down. "And I'll take it you're the two darlings I'm tasked to protect?" He asked nonchalantly and met the Ursa at the half-way. Doing so, he gazed down at the creature.

The woman who wobbled off of the fountain had gotten him to shift his attention for a moment. Luke watched as she shyly approached them, clutching that staff of hers close at hand. Timid, warm smile, and neatly dressed. No signs of anything that could mark her as a threat, so that was always good. It appeared as though the bear and woman were on comfortable terms, as the Ursa utilized a nickname and the term "honey," to refer to her. It was like a mother introducing her shy child to a stranger.

The samurai had bowed in return when the woman finally came closer and greeted him as such. "I'm Luke. Hired mercenary sent to protect you two as I've stated previously. You haven't run into anything or sustained any injuries that I'd need to look into, since this is a foreign contamination it's necessary to make sure all proper precautions are taken into account."

Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open] Empty Re: Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open]

Post by Clarisse Sat Oct 22, 2016 1:05 am

Cambria was left much like an older woman would when referred to as a ‘darling’. With one paw placed against her cheek, the other waved Luke off in a dismissive manner. “Aw honey, there’s no need for flattery. I’m far older than I look. My lil’ Clair-bear over there, though, now she-”

The Ursa was cut off short when Clarisse had crouched down to place a hand over her mouth. The summoner was blushing a deep shade of red with her eyes clenched shut. Now that she was older, Cambria had a never ending mission to flaunt the woman that she had become, to just about anyone that seemed to be ‘worthy’, as she called it. Just about every attempt was stopped short by the summoner herself, though.

Turning her single blue eye up to Luke, Clarisse managed to suppress her blush and nodded her head to confirm the young man’s statement. They were indeed the women that he had been sent to protect. That’s when she received a bow in return to her earlier one. To his question, he received a quick shake of the head. Staff lowered, Clarisse made a bit of her body more visible. Glistening with sweat from all her hard work, the young woman’s fair skin glistened in the midday sun. Beneath the simple, yet form fitting, white dress, her more matured body was made visible. Through the years, Clarisse’s body had grown quite attractive - something her Papa wasn’t quite ready to accept. But Camria sure as hell was. But for the moment, she’d behave.

“We haven’t come across anything to be concerned over, honey. My Clair-bear here had just finished cleansing the square here and was taking a break. It seems like this Blight nonsense is going to be a little more difficult to clear than we initially thought. It took a good bit of energy to cleanse just this area.” Cambria explained, turning her attention to the relatively normal looking square, with the water fountain in the center in the center, and the surrounding areas and streets consumed by the dark sickness. It really was such a pity what had happened to the world. But that was why they were there, to help it get better. “Any ideas of your own to help out? ‘Cause Lord knows that we’re going to be needing the help at this rate…”

Off to her side, Clarisse let out a silent sigh, letting her head drop a bit. She then turned to the Ursa and signed with her hand, wondering if Cambria really thought that it was going to take such a long time. The summoner received a nod in response. "Aye, dear. At the rate you're going, it will take quite some time to heal this world." Once more, Clarisse sighed, casing her gaze to the ground, only to turn them to Luke, wondering if he had any ideas, himself.

Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open] Empty Re: Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open]

Post by Bombshell Sat Oct 22, 2016 6:06 am

Felicity arrived to the world via a teleportation beacon left by the scouting party who reported a much more dangerous situation than their client initially estimated. There was an infection spreading around this world, but this was no sickness by the looks of it. The locals dubbed it as the blight, spread by a witch and her lackeys. It was made out of bio matter that converted organic materials into more of itself. But they said it had supernatural powers. It was still unsure if that was truth, or the result of superstition, but choosing to err on the side of caution, the mercenary decided to do some additional scouting hours after the initial scouts returned.

They were put into isolation of course. If the blight was as deadly as they reported it to be, then she didn't want anyone else getting afflicted with it.

Registering the blight material into her scanner, she had a clear picture of the area. It was mostly covered with this stuff. Heeding advice from her people, she avoided contact with the matter as she walked towards the nearest settlement. As she got closer, the scanner started to act up. There was a large area within the city that was almost completely free of this biomass. But how could that be? She retuned the device and detected signs of life within that area. Felicity pulled up her gas mask, donned her orange shades and activated her Stinger gauntlets.

This blight was thicker here, so it was strange to find an unaffected area in the center. She found the border between purity and corruption, and found a relatively safe alleyway to walk around in. At the end of the alleyway she could see a fountain with a couple of figures gathered around. She kept low and silent as she hid behind a depression on one side of the wall where a door used to be. She tuned her ear piece to listen in on their conversation. There was no indication that these people weren't there to lure in people like her.

Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open] Empty Re: Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open]

Post by Luke Z. Sat Oct 22, 2016 5:33 pm

Luke had just blankly stared at the two from beneath his helmet and gave them an equally blank expression they couldn't see. "...Right, anyways..." The man said nonchalantly and paid more attention to the situation at hand.

Apparently the pair had been doing well. No sort of conflict or injuries to be listed only the expected fatigue. The mercenary wondered how long they had been here. Another thought which crossed his mind were the speaking skills of the woman before him. There were no words that came from her. At most, she gave gestures and appeared more animated than vocal. Maybe she was a mute? That was important because it meant that he'd need to change up his tactics on approaching this new mission. "I see... While we're on the topic I wanted to know about your voice." The young man stated simply. "For a high-risk mission like this I'm going to need a preferred method of communicating with you. Just in case we get separated or I can't keep constant eye on either of you." He'd say, letting them know his intentions. Luke had to be thorough in this kind of situation.

One that thing might have distracted him a bit had to be the woman herself. Sweat clung to her body much like the clothes she wore and presented the samurai with a small window in which to view her matured body. She was attractive to say the least but that was something he'd have to think about later. Right now what mattered more was the missions. Protect the duo and gather intelligence. Hopefully the two Crows that went missing in the world of Camelot at least made it somewhere safe. Away from all of that disgusting mass of life outside. "Reports said that attempts to remove the life only agitated it further and that there was something or someone spreading it. How has she been able to clear it? We could likely find a way to emulate it on a larger scale and request aid from some of the worlds. That'd be a little difficult, however, since a lot of worlds have been hit by the Heartless recently."

While there was more to say Luke had to take a slight pause. His brow furrowed beneath his helmet and a hand quickly shot to the hilt of his blade. The proximity scanner his suit had pinged him concerning the location of an unidentified object. It pointed him in the general direction to which he alerted the others to the object's location with a firm hand sign. "Who goes there!?" The samurai demanded the person to reveal themselves. Anyone in this situation would be wound up but with everything else going on around him, Luke felt very on-edge.

Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open] Empty Re: Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open]

Post by Clarisse Tue Oct 25, 2016 11:53 pm

With him cutting straight to the chase, both Clarisse and Cambria were rather impressed that the young man was able to so quickly pick up on the summoner’s condition. She had turned an embarrassed gaze to the ground, a rosy blush appearing on her cheeks.

“Yes, Clair is a mute. Though I am able to translate and communicate to you anything she might need to say.” The Ursa had answered to Luke, looking up at him from her position on the ground. It wouldn’t have been the first time that Clarisse’s inability to speak left whoever was assigned to protect and guide them a little doubtful of her capabilities, and she’d be damned if it was the last time. Raising a rounded paw up towards him, Cambria pointed it at him. “That is, unless, you know sign language, or can speak telepathically. Otherwise, I can manage an earpiece, if you happened to have brought one with you.”

With that shy gaze of hers, Clarisse looked at Luke through her bangs, twisting about in an embarrassed manner. It felt like she was a burden when it came to such things, but the blonde was well aware of her situation and the very few things that she could do to change it. Having caught Luke’s gaze on her, Clarisse quickly shot her eyes away and blushed deeper. It was only when he continued to speak that she turned her eyes back to him.

“Yeah, the heartless raid has hit many hard. Though hopefully we can divert another trad-” Cambria stopped short when the young man had suddenly called out to someone, gesturing for them to show themselves. Both she and the summoner quickly turned their gazes in that direction and were prepared to fight back if needed.

Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open] Empty Re: Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open]

Post by Bombshell Wed Oct 26, 2016 2:34 am

From what she gathered from eavesdropping, it seemed as though this party was looking into the blight as well. So at least the risk of them being a danger to herself was somewhat lowered. Still, she couldn't let herself grow complacent when the details were still absent.

What she heard was recorded to be transcribed later. Whatever these people knew could help her network's own investigation on this subject. Unfortunately, they had stopped talking when the male in armor called out to an intruder. He was probably talking about her, unless there was another one sneaking around here. To be safe, she decided to stay where she was, however she slid her hand into her coat to unlock the safety from her pistol. While not likely effective, it does make openings for her whenever she decides to use her powers. Half of it anyway. The other half drew too much attention.

There were two places she could run through should she be confronted on hostile terms. The first was obviously through the alleyway she used, while the second was right into the building. She knew her way around urban environments, even though this world would possibly only count as rural, however now was not the time to dwell on the specifics.

If these people could read heartbeats or her breathing, they'd know that she was calm while waiting for their move. All she needed was an audio cue, but with one of them likely capable of telepathy, she would most likely be left with just the sound of footsteps.

Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open] Empty Re: Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open]

On his heads-up-display Luke could see that the intruder hadn't moved nor did they make any sound, thinking they were being sneaky. A creature would have attacked once spotted or quickly skirted away, but this being had stayed where they hid. Luke had slowly drew his katana and brandished it steadily, turning the scabbard that held it into its rifle model Should he angle it just right, he'd be able to shoot the corner and hit the desired target on the other side. That's only if it came to that point.

"You, behind the building, come out immediately and state your business!" He barked once more, his tone rising further in volume. His mind had hoped that it was someone friendly, someone who came to the world for the same reason he did. Last thing Luke wanted was to fight whatever god forsaken creatures had been spawned in the area. Whatever the case was, the samurai would be ready to go head to head against it.

Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open] Empty Re: Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open]

Post by Clarisse Sun Dec 04, 2016 9:48 pm

The situation had Clarisse rather tense. Scared, would be a better word for it. She clutched her staff close to her chest, standing behind Luke, and even trembling though only slightly so. It had gotten better over the years, but the unknown still greatly scared her. A light tap on her leg signaled for her to take a deep breath. Turning thankful eyes to Cambria, the summoner received a nod in return.

‘Should I?’ Clarisse’s fingers spelled out.

The Ursa’s simple response was a shrug.

Taking another breath, the young lady closed her one visible eye and reached out her thoughts. Not to whoever hid from them, but to another that slinked about the shadows. The woman that was hiding would suddenly feel something rub against her leg, soft and gentle. It appeared as a feline, with blood red eyes and a sleek black body. Looking up at the woman, it was if it was grinning with the way its fangs were showing. And if she listened, she would have heard a faint chuckle that held an air of foreboding. The cat then turned away and trotted off around the corner towards the group.

“No need to fear, Lady Clarisse, tis but a soldier woman of a foreign world.” The feline spoke with a pompous tone, wandering up to the summoner and rubbing against her leg in an affectionate manner. Clarisse crouched down to pet him, her way of thanking him for his service, and smiled. She was startled when Cambria suddenly chimed in.

“Him? Him of all people? Clair-bear, you have so many at your beck and call, and you chose the cat?” It was needless to say that the Usra was a little upset. Offended, maybe? And all Clarisse did was give her an apologetic smile.

Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open] Empty Re: Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open]

Post by Bombshell Sun Dec 04, 2016 10:37 pm

She was called out, and while she had no desire to come out, she was weighing her options. Things were likely going to end in a fight if she refused to show herself, but she couldn't actually say that making herself visible won't end up the same. Suddenly, she felt something rub against her leg, and her instinctual response was to shoot it, but she stopped when she found out it was just a cat. And then it grinned and chuckled before running away. It didn't seem infected either. But damn, she should have just shot it right there. Now there was no doubt in her mind that things will only escalate if she continued to stay hidden.

"Fine. You found me." she said aloud before walking out into the alley and slowly making her way out to the open. The pistol was still in her hand although left hanging by her side. "My business is my own, but if you tell me yours, then maybe I'll feel obligated to tell you. And don't even think about making any sudden moves if you know what's good for you and your friend over there."

Felicity allowed a pause while she sized up her possible opponents. A bear, a cat, an eye patched girl, and this bloke with the armor. They didn't match any persons of interest as far as she knew. "Is this area your doing?"

Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open] Empty Re: Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open]

Post by Luke Z. Tue Dec 06, 2016 12:08 am

The unknown female wasn't the only one startled by the cat that whizzed right past her. He was a little wary when it came by him and watched it accompany Clarisse. Cambria didn't seem to care much for the creature while Luke simply shook his head. Blight, talking cats and women with guns. There had to be some sort of punch line somewhere in all this, especially with how much sass the stranger came. Her gun wasn't holstered but it wasn't pointed at them either. She even threatened to use it if any of them turned out hostile.

Questioned about their business, the samurai shrugged and the voice modular that distorted his voice sounded, "We're apart of a cleaning company, couldn't you tell? Came to fix the fountain..." He pointed over to it, then motioned to the remainder of the area with a hand. "Oh and some of the less fucked up areas are also our doing. I'm just the hired back-up." The man explained but wasn't done speaking. "So what's your business here?"

Luke was much like her in the manner that his weapon hadn't been pointed at her, but was obviously ready should their be need to draw it. A tense stand-off but the informant was certain that there'd be no need for any further hostilities. Everyone was likely on-edge with this new menace on the prowl and it'd help to have more allies. He just hoped the armed woman was someone they could trust to some modest degree.

Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open] Empty Re: Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open]

Post by Clarisse Tue Dec 13, 2016 10:56 pm

Picking up Noir into her arms, Clarisse stood up and listened to the soothing sound of his purring. It helped calm her fragile nerves. So much was going on, and the summoner had such little time to adjust to it all that she was starting to clam up. Not that she could speak in the first place, but that was besides the point. Both the creatures at her side, Clarisse felt a slight bit more confident, and stepped up to stand beside her companion in the armor.

She felt as though the way that Luke explained what they were doing was a bit beyond vague, and could have been better explained, but she nodded in agreement. Though when he mentioned the fountain, the summoner turned to give him a confused look and began to shake her head. A tap at her calf from the Ursa that stood there told her to let it go.

Cambria understood the need to conceal certain information from potentially hostile individuals. Until intentions were made clear, it was best to hide their true reason for being there. One could never tell what another’s agenda was usually until it was too late. And though the feline in her arms was a nuance, if anything else, he could at least assist the samurai in combating the woman should it come to that. Though with the world’s current situation, it was understandable that anyone be on edge.

"Is that so?" she said, although she didn't fully trust that explanation. "Well pardon me then. Cleaning companies usually have their employees dressed in either jumpsuits or aprons." When it came time for her to say what she was doing here, she simply returned the shrug.

"I'm clearly a real estate surveyor looking for prime land. Considering the state the rest of the world is in, this place looks to be one." She couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong here. From what the scouts say, this world was teeming with infested humans and animals alike. Did they fix those too? There weren't any bodies that she could see, but with the bear there...

"So where is this leading up to? Do you have some of your buddies in the buildings around here waiting for a chance to jump me, snipe my head off, hit me with a tranquilizer or what?"

"Nah, only the Italians have that uniform. Specifically red and green." He added after the stranger's comment on their attire. Obviously the group of them had been sent to the planet from their own benefactors, each with an agenda of their own. This was noted in the way the gun toting woman explained that she was surveying prime land. Likely sent to investigate the Blight as well and its source.

"Well, Real Estate Surveyor, it seems as though our goals line up." Luke boldly stated. "We plumbers can help fix up the land you're looking to survey, but it'd be in our best interest to work as a group and tension filled team, rather than separate. We don't know what caused the irrigation system to back up, but we do know it's one hell of a-" He had been stricken with silence when it came to her follow-up question. Then he started to laugh a little, a cynical almost sarcastic laugh.

"Are you kidding me? Do you see the state of this place? No one would be caught dead trying to set up an ambush with hostile, flesh assimilating, organic creatures moving about. That's a waste of men and resources. Additionally, what makes you so important that we'd need to put such an effort into subduing you." A rhetorical question. One that he'd take the pleasure in answering, "That's right, you're not that important." He stated, then rolled out his neck and shoulders. "So with that out of the way, let's keep our suspicions off of each other and aimed towards the man-eating plant shit, that's going to come and try to kill us soon."

Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open] Empty Re: Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open]

Post by Clarisse Tue Dec 27, 2016 12:44 pm

The bout between the two was both amusing and informative. It was encoded, in a way, but the Ursa and the Cat were able to understand the gist of it. Unfortunately for their summoner, she wasn’t as learned in the ways of coy conversing, being that she didn’t converse much in the first place. Though when Luke had suggested that they team up, Cambria turned a quirked brow in his direction. The distorted sound of his laughter through the voice modifier gave a bit of the shivers. It reminded Clarisse of a movie villain.

What he said in response to the woman’s question left her feeling a bit unsettled. It was rude, and mean. True, they had no business with the woman, and as such, would have no reason to ambush her, but to state it so… callously was just mean. Then again, the worlds were full of people far worse. That was one thing that the summoner had learned over the years, the hard way.

A pat at her calf reminded her that she wasn’t there alone. “Now that we’re not in any more immediate danger, Clair-bear, why don’t we get back to work, hm? You’ve had a long enough break by now.” Cambria told her. They were there for a reason, and they’ve dallied long enough. Sending a look to Luke and their companion, she wanted them to simply go about their business, do their jobs, whatever it was they were there to do, and to just let the summoner do her work.

At Cambria’s suggestion, Clarisse nodded and let Noir down from her arms so that she could pick up her staff and turn to the nearest Blight infected building. Noir took this time to dismiss himself. The light never agreed with his complexion. Once more, the summoned a holy light that surrounded herself and the area around her, and the others. It was a highly specific set of motions that needed to be made, that almost looked like a dance with how she performed them. And little by little, the Blight in front of her dissipated. She didn't dare creep to close to the building, however, due to the fear of whatever may be creeping inside.

"Was that jab supposed to sting? Guess you weren't as enterprising as I thought." Arrogance and lack of respect were a few of her pet peeves when she met with other people. She was just a shove away from teaching this walking dog food can not to belittle her abilities, but if the creatures were to awaken, she would definitely need them as meat shields.

Maybe just the guy. The girl so far wasn't causing her a migraine so if the worst case scenario comes true, maybe she could take her to safety. Though admittedly, she had no obligation to. They were doing fine without here, so why couldn't they handle it by themselves?

As the girl did her thing, doing away with these diseased-looking matter, Felicity got a call from the ship. She put a finger to her ear piece and turned slightly to the side so that it would be shielded from the others to lessen any audio interference from them. While the operator on the other side of the call spoke, Felicity simply listened, nodding every few moments. When she did speak, she took a small disc device about the size of a coin and tossed it in front of her. There was a smaller disc inlaid in the middle which was flashing at regular intervals. "Alright, send it when its ready," she'd say in a hushed tone before signing off.

Paying no mind to what the others were doing, she approached one of the blighted buildings. She was mumbling curses under the mask while she checked the interior through a broken window. It was too dark to see all the way in, however, but she could detect some minute movements inside. Judging by what she saw on the way here, and the data the scouts retrieved, it was probably just the blight 'breathing'. Now if only she had a stick to poke it with.

Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open] Empty Re: Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open]

Luke rolled his eyes under his helmet after the woman made her comment. There was one thing he prided himself on and that was the way he used words. Pegging her just as he guessed, knowing that she'd respond with a passive-aggressive remark instead of inquiring further about "snipers" and the like. Though, it was time to get back to work considering the blonde and her companion went further to the blighted land. Turning his head briefly over his shoulder, he watched the stranger communicate with someone and inquired with himself who it was they could be talking to.

He'd have to keep a close eye on her for the time being and until she slipped up, he took some distance between himself and the rest of the bodies. This particular position gave him the vision on everyone present and if it didn't, then it meant he had ideas of where they absconded to. Whatever the case was, Luke played his part as the observant to the two. Watching them and ready to strike at a moment's notice. No matter where they were he'd be able to be by their sides... That if he knew exactly where they were.

The bit of tense down time that came to them allowed him to send his current footage, over to the Crow's HQ. They'd be able to get a live feed on top of a written report. Being messaged some moment later, he was directed to take a sample for analysis. A request he denied.

"Sorry, HQ, but until I can personally determine the hostility and rate of growth concerning the contaminant, I cannot endanger myself nor whoever else wishes to come in contact with this thing." Is what he said to himself, of course and dismissed the message as though it didn't exist.

Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open] Empty Re: Cleansing the Darkness [Luke, Open]

Clarisse was quite capable of operating on her own, that much wasn’t a concern. She knew her limits, and when it came to it, she was capable of handling herself in battle. Training under her surrogate parents and from Queen Morgan ensured that much. It was the other two that Cambria was concerned about. Sure one of them was sent to protect them, which was helpful, yeah. But one could never be sure. As for the other one, she was all sorts of suspicious. Though being on such a contaminated, dangerous world as the recently discovered Camelot did warrant being on edge for all parties. To that extent, that woman’s behavior was understandable. Didn’t mean the Ursa trusted her any more.

She watched as she communicated with someone over an earpiece, and as Luke did the same, and wondered what sort of conversations or directives they were being given. It wasn’t really her concern in the first place, so long as Clarisse remained safe. Turning her beady eyes over to watch the summoner at work, it really did amaze her just how far she had come.

How far she had come was little concern to Clarisse, though. All she knew was that she still had far yet to go. One area of concern was her inability to endure long purification sessions. Already, she could feel the fatigue catching up with her. Even still, she pressed on and continued her work. If she stopped for too long, all the work she had already put in would be for naught and the Blight would return in no time. The fact that she was one of very few who could perform such a feat only made her presence on the world that much more important. She would succeed. There was no other option.

"Something is not right here. The growth is stifled, almost completely nonexistent..." she mumbled as she glanced over to the girl and wondered what else could have caused this blight to act differently than what was reported. There was a missing factor here, and she wanted to know what it was. For all the evidence they had, it was hard to believe this whole thing wasn't throwing anything hostile at them for the longest time.

Behind her, a quiet hum announced the teleportation of her package. It was a locked case of metal with a blank keypad on the top. It was bare of any identifying marks other than the scratches it accumulated over many deployments. Without even batting an eye towards the suspicious people she found here, she approached and got to her knee to input the code needed to open it. A short while later, the locks clicked loose and she opened the box to reveal a number of instruments, and what looked to be a pack with two tanks marked with the same flame symbol found on her shoulder. On the top part of the box were a number of unlabeled buttons and switches. Fiddling around with it, the package deployed a set of tracks from the sides and an armature from the center.

The robot followed her as she made her way back to the infected building, but not before slinging the tanks of napalm onto her back and attaching the hoses onto two slim gauntlets she got out of the same package. The blight was inactive, but if it were to suddenly awake from its dormancy, she wanted to burn the whole city to the ground.

Felicity stopped a few meters away while the robot continued on until its arm could get in range to grab a sample of the blight to analyze. The samples were collected through matter-phobic tubes and stored in canisters of the same material. She got another call from the ship. She didn't say anything this time, but she was eying the young girl intently for a majority of the time spent listening to the person on the other side. With a sigh, she finally ended their quite engaging conversation with a sigh. "Fine, I'll get to it."

Felicity approached the bear, who seemed to be the one to talk to in this situation. "A moment of your time," she said as she got close. "My colleague needs your friend to purify a sample of this... blight. She wants to see how the matter breaks down so we can better understand how to contain this pandemic. I'm sure this lines up with your interests as well?" She was still practicing caution, as she does so when dealing with people with unknown agendas.
