System Streamline Proposal
The following proposal is meant to make the Tier System simpler and easier to digest, without removing power from people, or the effort it takes to get there.
Opposed to the current system, we'd only be going from 1 - 10 in each stat, reducing complications. If you have a 1 or 2 in a stat, that stat is a T1 stat. This does not determine your Character Tier.
What determines the Character Tier is still the total amount of points you have. In the current, 5 stat system, you'd earn a 36 points throughout your RP career and would end with 41 total (you start off with a 1 in each stat, meaning you start with 5 total points.)
The total amount of posts to reach endgame is arbitrary and can be figured out when we decide on a system. This current system keeps the power levels and current combination in order, although it does provide different variables of number play, but we aren't forcing anyone to change their current build to comply, since those are still possible.
Now, there's been discussion of adding a 6th stat called Synth. What it does is for another topic, but there's also a modified system to include if, dependent if we decide to implement it as a community. It's just an extension of this current system. If there's any questions, feel free to ask, since I'm tired and posting this up just to get it out there.
In it's purest, conceptual form, this system works similarly to the one we currently have.
Attribute Tiers
T1 = 1 - 2
T2 = 3 - 4
T3 = 5 - 6
T4 = 7 - 9
T5 = 10
T1 = 1 - 2
T2 = 3 - 4
T3 = 5 - 6
T4 = 7 - 9
T5 = 10

T3 = 25 - 32
T4 = 33 - 40

This means, when you have a total of 5 points to 14 points, your character is a T1 character. T1 = 5 - 14
T2 = 15 - 24
T3 = 25 - 32
T4 = 33 - 40
T5 = 41

Alright, so, seeing as how it was already roughly 3k posts before, what can be done is:
For 5 Stats.
Have a Stat Point per 80 Posts. This allows you to obtain 36 points after 2880 posts. This may cut some time, however it is not too drastic and will not affect the flow of progression TOO greatly.
For 6 stats
Simple, it is another 720 posts for an addition 9 points to complete the Synth stat. I'd say make it valuable enough to where someone can neglect magic in favor of it, and have some sort of medium between balancing between. I assume eventually everyone can, if they want, become prestige and fill in the gaps.
Question, could we implement a sword-shield-wand system? We can pick a stat to progress faster, say Magic at a 50-70 post rate in exchange for another stat progressing more slowly. The option of neither would still be there, and it would balance out. Equal loss for equal gain in speed over progression. I'd suggest 60-70 personally, and 90-100 for slowed progression.
As for the synth state, I'm all for it and I think this simplification will produce the same result but more clean-cut.

Fetch, you hit the nail on the head. Those were the numbers I tossed around originally, however, I was unsure if we were going to stick to that 3k mark and didn't want to impose anything.
The issue with the way you want to implement the stat system is the way arc points work, we'd need to figure out a way to make it less tedious.
Also, important to note, it just increases the rate that stat increases, or does it also make it so when you hit T5 in that stat, you're slightly better than someone who took an alternate augmentation?

I might be a teensy bit biased, but I think synth sounds so cool. I'd love to have a system like that. I also like the Sword Shield Wand thing, too. It feels weird that you have to start everything out at the very bottom. Some people are naturally better at some things than others.

I don't think so, Harlow. Because it's only a natural boost, something actual experience should be able to match. Being naturally strong only surpasses training for strength for so long.
