Wysteria Empty Wysteria

Post by Faye Wed Aug 12, 2015 3:24 am

Name: Wysteria
Age: 1 year old
Species: Fairy Dragon

Primary Elements
1.) Light
2.) Wind
3.) Water
4.) Time

Personality: Although she will never be the size of her true dragon cousins, Wysteria nevertheless has a strong and brave little heart. A playful creature, the fairy dragon is a trickster that loves pulling innocent pranks on the unsuspecting. At the same time, she can be quite shy around strangers, hiding behind Faye when she meets someone new. Once she warms up to a stranger, Wysteria can be very affectionate, nuzzling and licking faces every chance she gets. However, when threatened, she will show her teeth and there will be no mercy. Like the sorceress, she can be quite the vengeful sort.

Appearance: Wysteria is about the size of a house cat. Born in a world of song, the fairy dragon can make a multitude of sounds from the mews of a cat to the soothing harmony of wind chimes.

History: Through her travels, Faye has come into contact with many different creatures, but none were nearly as fascinating to the sorceress as the inhabitants of the Symphony of Sorcery. The land was untouched by man, it's beauty ever growing. In this vibrant world, colorful beings of all shapes and sizes lived, adding to the music of their home with their own unique songs, and Faye could not help but sing along with them. It was a melody that was constantly changing. A calm joyful song could quickly turn to one of fear and urgency when the Heartless appeared, causing the wildlife to scurry and scream in all directions. As she explored the land, Faye realized that she was being followed, hearing the rustle of leaves above. It was a rare occasion for the animals and enchanted instruments to see humanoids passing through their home, and it drew upon their curiosity. Faye's tiny follower continued to watch her, even signaling in a haunting tune before the Heartless appeared. The aid was welcome, especially against the sneaky shadows that attempted to creep up behind the sorceress. That night, Faye made camp, rocked to sleep by the lullaby that filled the air.

The first thing she saw when she awoke was a scaly pink nose and shiny azure eyes gazing back at her. Faye bolted straight up out of her makeshift bed, startling the beast in the process. With a squeal, it flew away, seeking safety in the purple flowered trees above. After a few minutes of soft spoken words, the watcher revealed itself to a be a pseudodragon. The fairy dragon--as Faye would come to call her breed--began to hum, not daring to move any closer to the sorceress as she swung on the end of a wisteria vine. No words would convince the fairy dragon to move any closer. The maiden decided to try another idea. As the drake continued to make bird like chirps, Faye joined in, harmonizing with her. This caught the little one's attention, listening to the sorceress with wide eyes as the odd two legged creature repeated her song. The dragon tried another tune, and then fell silent, waiting to see what she would do next. Just like before the sorceress repeated the song, raising her voice to match, only this time she added an original note at the end. The fairy dragon realized that this was turning into a game, and she did oh so love games. Of course, she was going to play along. Just as Faye had hoped, the dragon followed her lead, adding her own twist each time. The sun rose higher and higher into the sky, and before she knew it, an hour had passed.

Gaining confidence from the rhythm game, the pink and yellow drake fluttered down from the trees, hovering right in front of her singing rival, holding one of the tree flowers in her mouth. A soft smile touched sorceress' lips, pleased with how clever she was. Most animals had a somewhat similar heart and mind, and dragons--no matter how big--were no exception. Faye held out her arm, coaxing her new tiny friend to come closer. Although she was nervous at first, the dragon sniffed her hand a few times before finally accepting the perch. From there, it just got better. Her new scaly companion tagged along with her through the Symphony of Sorcery, showing the maiden hidden wonders she never would have found otherwise, most of which were covered in the lovely wisteria vines. Because of the flower the fairy dragon seemed fond of, Faye felt that Wysteria was a fitting name.

In the short time they shared, Wysteria became very attached to the sorceress, something she found odd. Did she not have kin? Thinking about it, Faye had not caught one glimpse of anything remotely similar to the fairy dragon. Were they simply hiding? Faye received her answer when Wysteria brought her to one last place. It appeared to be the remains of an old nesting ground. Scales, broken eggs, and butterfly like wings lay scattered across the ground, old and decayed. Familiar footsteps were found in the dried mud, and it wasn't difficult for the sorceress to figure out what had transpired. Heartless. Wysteria whimpered, nuzzling against Faye's neck. This only served to reinforce what she wanted, to destroyed the Heartless forever. How many families had been displaced, or completely destroyed by the dark fiends? People were not the only ones who suffered, but the wildlife as well. There was nothing left for Wysteria here. That much was plain to see. It would be cruel to leave her alone, after forging a friendship they both had wanted--needed.

"We do not have to be alone anymore." Faye told her softly, stroking the back of Wysteria's head. "Come with me." the fairy dragon hummed gleefully in response, flying around her in a circle.

And with that, Faye and Wysteria departed from the Symphony of Sorcery, both happier than they had been in a long time.
