Omei Empty Omei

Post by Omei Tue Jun 21, 2016 7:52 pm

Omei
Female | December 31 | 16 years | Somebody | 162cm | 50kgs
Omei GYVCZOc
Darkness | Moon | Water | Wind

Personality:

Omei is quite pessimistic in nature, usually seeing the worst in situations. She is hard on herself as well, letting mistakes she makes leave a burden on her and placing the blame on herself when something involving her, or people she cares about, goes wrong, inevitably giving herself guilt. However, it is also this mindset that drives Omei to become stronger and better herself, so she won't make the same mistakes twice and that she can protect the people she cares about. Because of this, she has an extremely powerful will and determination. Outwardly, Omei is polite and kind. She will come to aid those in need, even if a total stranger, and will risk her life to save somebody she loves. However, due to her pessimism, she trust very few people. even if she considers them a friend. She has a vindictive side, as if somebody betrays her or does something she deems as "evil," she will write them off as being bad and evil forever. It takes a lot of effort for somebody to redeem themselves in her eyes. When interacting with somebody like this, she will treat them extremely coldly and with much hostility, even bordering n the edge of cruelty in some cases.

History:

Two identical twins that were abandoned shortly after their birth. They were found in the slums of the Imperial City in the Land of Dragons. A once mother found them and took them in out of pity and grief, as she had recently lost a child of her own to illness. She raised the two like her own, though as they lived in the slums, they had a rough life, often having to scavenge for food or go hungry for the night. They learned to fight, for self-defense against bandits and other unruly figures. Surprisingly, they had a natural talent for it, quickly able to taken a grown man, despite their age and size.

One day, four years after they were found, their adopted mother succumbed to an illness as well and passed away, leaving the girls orphaned once more. However, with the knowledge and skills they acquired, they were able to survive on their own. They continued to live on, and while their stomachs were never quite full throughout the day, they were content with each other's company.

Seven years after they were found, the twins decided to travel to a nearby village, as they heard rumors that there were better opportunities for jobs and food, as the land was rich with crops and animals. With as much supplies they could manage to scrap together, they embarked on their journey. However, they faced new troubles. Along the way, they ran into strange creatures oozing a sinister darkness. Mere physical hits didn't take them down like normal people and the twins found themselves cornered.

Omei closed her eyes, waiting for the inevitable end. However, there was a brilliant flash of light and intense heat. When she opened her eyes, she saw Alphi standing there in front of her to protect her, her arms extended. Where the evil creatures was a bout of flames, disintegrating them. Alphi had discovered a power within her: Magic. Before they could celebrate, Alphi collapsed, exhausted.

Once Alphi awakened and regained her energy, the twins continued their journey. Alphi was full of excitement, marveling at her newfound abilities. Omei attempted to join her sister's enthusiasm, but couldn't quite smile as widely or talk as excitedly. Their entire lives, they covered each other's backs. They were equal. But this changed the balance. Now Omei was weaker and needed protecting. She was useless to Ru. Small feelings of resentment and helplessness began to grow within Su, but she shoved them down. Hid them from her sister, who was happy she could definitively protect Omei now.

The two were able to make it to the rumored village, located on the snowy mountains of the Land of Dragons. They had some minor encounters with more darkness monsters, but Alphi was able to fend them off, getting better and better at using magic as she did. When they arrived at the village, they were met with suspicion and hostility, much to their bewilderment, and were chased out.

They eventually found an abandoned cabin not far from the village, within a neighboring forest. The two, though a bit shaken, were not lost with a purpose. They decided to stay there, get food from the wildlife in the forest during the day and steal other supplies from the village at night. For a few weeks, they lived peacefully. They tried to fix up the cabin as much as they could from the inside without arousing suspicion, and they were able to sleep at night with full bellies.

As the days passed, Omei became more and more restless, finding it harder to ignore the negative thoughts of her sister. Because the black beasts roamed the forest, it was Alphi who went out and hunted while Omei stayed home. It was similar at night, as it was Alphi who went to the village. Omei rarely left the cabin, finding it less of a home and more of a prison.

One night, while Alphi was away at the village, Omei found that their food supplies were running low. Seeing this as an opportunity to prove her usefulness to her sister, she left to go on a hunt. She managed to snag a few hares without any unfortunate run ins. However, when she came back to the cabin, she saw the door ajar and drips of blood staining the snow leading to it. She ran inside to see a man standing above the still body of her sister, a bloody knife in hands.  She let out a bloodcurdling cry before her vision went red and the next thing she knew, she was standing above the man's body, a kitchen knife they had stolen from the village, in his back. His body was bloody and battered, shown to be stabbed multiple times.

Omei ran to her sister and found her barely breathing, bleeding heavily and covered in stab wounds and cuts. She started to cry as she held her dying sister. As tears flooded down her face and covering her sisters body and forming a small pool, she realized that the amount of water was far more than crying could produce. The water was warm and started to glow, the blood seeping away and stopping, the wounds closing and her sister's breathing become less ragged and more normal. While her sister had power over the powerful flames, Omei had the power over water, meant to heal what the flames couldn't protect.

In the morning, when Alphi awoke, found out what happened and was overjoyed to find out that her sister had found her own power.  The two took the body and buried it in the forest, beneath the snow. Expecting more villagers to follow, they packed what little things they had and set out to find someplace new. They passed the village only to be shocked to find that it was covered in snow, the villagers buried beneath. The Avalanche seemingly caused by Omei’s scream from the night before.

The twins explored the snowy remains to see if there were any survivors. To their surprise, there was a woman wandering about as well. She was not from around there but was just passing by. She tells the twins that the villagers had a prophecy that when two girls showed up with eyes of fire and ice, identical in appearance, the village would meet its demise, explaining the original hostility. The woman, intrigued by the twins and showing sympathy, offered to take them in if they promised to serve her. The twins, with nowhere else to go, agreed. Her name was Marigold Darkson.

The twins were taken to a mansion and were offered a few jobs that they could do by Marigold. After deliberating, the two chose the option of being maids and simply helping out around the mansion. Marigold agreed and set them up with their uniforms, rooms, and rules. They had to be trained, as they never had the time or resources to have the luxury of maintaining a house. They caught on quickly.

Marigold offered training services as well, to hone their fighting and magical skills. Omei quickly agreed though Alphi declined, much to Omei's surprise. When Omei asked her why, she declined to answer and shrugged it off. Omei suspected it was because of how Alphi almost died, as her sister seemed on edge ever since she recovered. Though Alphi tried to hide it, Omei could see fear and anguish behind her smiles. The reason Omei agreed to learn magic was so she could figure out a way to help her sister recover, as she blamed herself for what happened.

Years passed and twelve years since they were found, the twins were content and comfortable where they were. They became familiar with their duties and even enjoyed them. They developed unwavering loyalty towards Marigold and her family for their kindness. For the first time in their lives, they were happy.

Omei spent every night training with either Marigold or studying magic herself. While she learned other forms of magic, she focused primarily on Moon magic, as it was the best one that could help Alphi. She reasoned that if she was able to erase or hide the negative emotions and memories associated with the incident, Alphi would be back to her old self. Almost every night, Omei would watch as her sister tossed and turned and cried in her sleep, struggling with nightmares that Omei couldn't help her in. This only drove Omei to study harder.

Finally, she found a spell that could do the trick in a dusty old textbook in the study, unbeknownst to Marigold. She read it and she was confident her mastery in Moon was high enough to accomplish this. She hurriedly ran to Alphi and told her about it. To Omei's delight, she agreed. Omei would finally be able to help her sister, to redeem herself for her sins. However, when Omei cast the spell, something went wrong and fearing that it would harm Alphi, she redirected it towards herself, causing her to fall unconscious.

When she awoke, she was there with Alphi, who saved her. They embraced and sobbed and emotions were had. Alphi revealed that she wasn't just traumatized by the attack. During that bloody night, she realized she had a deep fear of being separated from her sister. She didn't want to die because she didn't want to leave Omei all alone, and through that, she didn't want to take any chances. But she realized that by being cowardly, she had placed a burden on Omei, making her suffer as well. Though she wasn't instantly better, she ready to recover.

Sixteen year since they were found, Alphi started training with Omei to learn how to fight and use magic more. Omei started to broaden her abilities, mastering other elements and learning more skills in conjuncture to Alphi. The sisters were happy and whole once more.
