Behavior
Neptune is a laid back, yet hard working individual. He often finds efficient solutions to problems, even if nonconventional, but can sometimes miss easy answers due to his unorthodox thinking. This leaves him with sloppy, disorganized tendencies in his everyday life.
While an understanding person, he can be impatient and stubborn. He can sometimes find that his solution to a problem doesn't work, but continues to try despite realizing his shortcomings. Otherwise, he generally works well with others and can take role of the leader if need be -- although, not preferred.
Neptune has the utmost confidence in himself. He follows his heart and is true to himself. Life is about freedom and the ability to do what you want. And unlike most people, when put in high pressure situations, he tends to thrive. He always does best when there are stakes involved, otherwise he phones it in.
While Neptune values his cunning, creativity, and perseverance through adversity, he values his family more. He has never been more content than when finally settling down and having a home to consistently come to, with welcoming faces. After having been plagued with PTSD and survivor's guilt, he's slowly been able to endure and overcome through the last twenty years of unconditional support from his wife, Monique.
Neptune is a socialite. He has no issues approaching people, with or without reason. He is very talkative and easy to speak to. When he was younger, he didn't know how to shut up, but he's matured since then. He's learned the flow of conversation and can respect when it's his turn to be quiet. He wears his emotions on his sleeve, so he'll show when he's annoyed or put off by something someone says. He has great posture, and triesto keep his body language warm and inclusive.

Legend
In another universe, Neptune was born on Earth. About a year into his life, he moved from the island of Puerto Rico to the United States. He lived uneventfully, until an unfortunate set of circumstances caused him to be abducted into a private, government program. From then on, all of his legal information had been "dealt with."
The program he was abducted into focused on exposing children to a recently discovered, supernatural principle. They had previously attempted to manipulate the aforementioned principle with adults as their test subjects, but they were rigid and inflexible. Their next course of action was to provide treatment to children, where they'd be given doses over the course of the year in order to build tolerance. With the youth having a tenacity to adapt to their surroundings, they found their venture successful, and continued treatment indefinitely, and carefully monitored their development.
During this, he met with the other children, as part of their social health exercises. He found a mentor in Apollo, his wisdom beyond his years forever changing the way he looked at the world. He found a best friend in Juno, a lesson in platonic love and support. He found a rival in Jupiter, where he learned just natural talent was not enough to succeed. Lastly, he found an enemy in Mars, which taught him how to cooperate with the incompatible. He remained largely neutral with everyone else.
About a decade later, an inter-dimensional war broke out. The initial attack was launched by a universe containing the Amaran, a species bent on assimilating other lifeforms. Unfortunately, a rogue, terroristic group had been spawned during the beginning of humanity's assimilation. The Amaran's could not overcome their free will and, therefore, retreated, as their reason for operating was voided. Now humanity had to deal with the oncoming apocalypse.
Before they were in full public eye, they created random acts of destruction, and were difficult to locate. Until God Saved the Queen, and God Blessed America, where they killed the Queen of England and the President of the United States, as they publicly appeared and declared war on the world.
Shortly after, Neptune made his first encounter. Him and the rest of his organization coordinated a countermeasure to their movement on Hawaii. Unfortunately, collateral damage was at an all time high, as the island had sunk into the ocean. Eventually, through repeated skirmishes, this terrorist group sent the world into disarray. They overthrew governments and all the grunts along with them. Of all the people to survive, Neptune was only accompanied by Mercury. And they were resilient enough to create a resistance. While they were disadvantaged, humanity was known for being stubborn, and with some notable figures such as Oriel and April.
However, they too fell. One by one everyone Neptune promised to protect died, as he was powerless to intervene. And alone, dying, with his chest blown out, he watched Onyx open the door that ended the world. And Neptune fell through with him.
Drifting through the ocean, he awoke on the shore of a beach, introduced to a doppleganger of his old world. He met another Oriel. And she too had been branded by Onyx. It seemed that destiny had intended they dance for longer than he had hoped. Dealing with the trauma of the end of the universe and the guilt of surviving, he dedicated his time here to his redemption. And he once again failed.
His first meeting with Onyx was in Twilight Town. It was accidental and led to him chasing down apocalpyse but failing, due to lack of cooperation and the destruction of the city. He did best he could but he had started at a disadvantage. And while he hadn't directly confronted them, he now knew they were here and how far along they had come. Somewhere in the back of his mind he knew he was too late.
Their final meeting was on Destiny Islands, where he had encountered all of them once more. In a fit of rage and panic, he called upon a storm and did too much harm to his body in an attempt to redeem himself. This world's Oriel attempted to heal him after they had escaped and he had been borderline crippled, but she could not. After two months of recuperation, Neptune's funeral was at sea.
Once again, he found himself called by the island, but -- once again -- in a new dimension. He awoke, this time seemingly perfect. Not a mark on him other than the remnants of the giant hole Onyx had blown through his chest. And after exploring, he had learned no Oriel existed. This was a different dimension. There was no redemption. And, perhaps, he could find a truly fulfilling life here.
Working on the island, he supplied fish to the markets. And it was tranquil life. Eventually he found love in the name of a young woman named Monique. She was understanding, kind, and didn't expect too much out of him. But like every relationship, there were nuances. Monique already had a child, from another man who left them. Thinking this was a deal breaker, she opened up with it. But Emile was all too eager. Falling in love with them both, he proposed and was excited to start a family.
However, Monique understood the complexities of love, and warned him that should they have kids, she expected no less than equal treatment for her son. And while Emile would have been an all too understanding and fair father to all biological and nonbiological children of his, the experimentation on him had left him infertile. As a woman who dreamed of a large family, they had almost divorced two years into their marriage, but their son saved their marriage. It may not be a large family, but it was still a family.
They've been married for 19 years, still living in Destiny Islands. Their son, Noah, is 21 and studying abroad across the worlds, but visits during his breaks from school. Right now, he's in a great place in life, and works hard enough that his wife was able to retire early and tend to her passions. She created her own shop, where she works as a florist. While he still works as a mariner off the coast of the isle, using his natural talents to work 8 hour days and come home early.
