Annabeth Lee-Clement has entered the world.

All was quiet in the humble old cellar below the surface. Away from the heat of the sun and bustle of the cirygoers, all that was held there could be kept relatively cool, and store far from the wandering hands of everyday thieves and pickpockets. Only, without the sun to keep it lit, shadows had begun to gather there. According to the owner, the shadows brought with them creatures of darkness: Heartless.

The silence was broken as a new figure broke into the scene, throwing open a set of doors and leaping through, a glaive in hand. The figure hit the ground and rolled once, coming to a stop in the center of the open space, ready to engage the nightmarish creatures that the proprietor had spoken of, monsters and demons from all manners of hells who dwelled in darkness and feasted upon the hearts of man! This newcomer would purge the place of these cruel things, once again freeing the people of the evil-

There was nothing there.

Even in the complete lack of decent lighting, Annabeth could tell that, save for the few boxes that hadn't already been moved somewhere 'safer', the room was completely empty. No monsters, no demons, no heart-eating denizens of shadow to be seen. "Aww..." she pouted, kicking some dust off the floor, "And here I thought I'd found the perfect first sidequest! Eh, I guess I'll head back up and tell her there's nothing here." For the sake of convenience, she decided to call upon the ability she'd first discovered a day before and summon a small flame at her side. Before, such a thing had only appeared in moments of anger, and had burned fiercely for a short time, but after not only being made aware of it but also spending a short time practicing with the idea, she found that creating these fires was oddly easy for her, and should they be small, maintaining them was even less of a challenge. Why such a thing had only come to light during her stay in these new worlds was a mystery to her still.

Thanks to this new flame, which she held in the air next to her, it became much easier to see the room around, meaning she'd be able to return with no trouble. Annabeth turned to leave, but was confronted with an odd phenomenon in that the door was closed. "I... didn't close that," she insisted to no one in particular, taking up her glaive in a firmer grip and getting a better look at the room around her. She paid more attention to her observations this time, and now that the room was lit a small bit better, small flits of motion caught her eye. When she turned to focus on any one in particular, it was long gone, and her confidence waned. It was then that she felt a warmth behind her.

Annabeth spun on a heel, her glaive at the ready, and finally got a good look at her target. It was... rather underwhelming, actually. It was a small thing, barely the height of her knee, and nearly pitch-black all around. Small, crooked limbs connected to a just-about featureless body, and a round head topped off with, once again, crooked antennae-looking things. Blank yellow circles, like eyes, peered out from the black void that was where a face should probably have been, absent of both familiarity and malice.

Annabeth locked eyes with the creature, and both of them were still for a few long moments, as neither seemed to have any particular plan of how to react. It was some time before Annabeth finally spoke up, speaking her observations aloud to no one in particular. "It's... It's so..."

"...Adorable!" She tossed her weapon aside, letting it clatter to the ground as she picked up the little black creature from under its shoulders, getting a good look at it in the weak firelight. "Aw, just look at you! Aren't you just the cutest little harbinger of darkness, huh?" It didn't react to her, save for slight twitches that seemed to continue regardless of whether she spoke or not.

Nearby, several more of the so-called 'Heartless' began to appear, all identical to the first and, in Annabeth's eyes, equally cuddlable. "And people are saying you guys are a menace," she remarked in disbelief as she set the first one back down. "Y'all don't look the part at all! I'm sure if you just scamper on outta here, no one's gonna go out of their way to chase something so tiny and harmless... Go on, shoo!" She dismissed them with a shooing hand, and they obeyed with no tangible hesitation. They seemed to melt into the floors and shadows, and soon enough the room was near-empty once again.

Annabeth picked the Glaive off of the floor. "So much emphasis on fighting these things," she noted. "They don't seem like so much of a threat to me." Satisfied with her 'eradication' of what the landowner had referred to as pests and monsters, she pushed open the exit doors and made her way outside.

Maybe these 'Heartless' things were just misunderstood. Everything she'd been told about them was of how they were monsters and embodiments of darkness, but they were more like something partway between a roach and a puppy, judging by what she'd seen there. It got her thinking, however. What was it about these Heartless that got people so worked up?

"S-So are they gone? Please tell me they are gone!" As soon as Annabeth stepped back out into the sun and sand, the landowner who had approached her before assaulted her with a verbal assault, begging for confirmation that she'd done as asked. Meanwhile, she fanned herself with both a random document and the fur draped over her shoulder. Clearly, she wasn't a local, and wasn't used to the weather here.

Annabeth had to put sleeved-over hands on the woman's shoulder to keep their faces at an acceptable distance. "Don't worry," she soothed, "They won't be staying there any longer. I made sure that they'd be well on their way somewhere else." This seemed to calm the proprietor, who let out a sigh with enough force that it could have been weaponized, given the right technology. "Oh, thank goodness... You are a blessing, child. I am indebted to you!"

Before Annabeth could stop her, the lady gave her a tight, sweaty hug of gratitude before departing. In the end, her only payment was the need of a shower and a small, red jewel tucked into her pocket at the last moment. She broke into a stroll in the opposite direction, taking some time to look the odd thing over before shoving it back into her pocket in defeat. If it had a use, then it wasn't one that she'd be able to take advantage of.

Her mind wandered back to the case of the Heartless, and her encounter with them. From what everyone else she'd met ever said, they were a force of chaos and other generically bad things, but they barely seemed to care when she stepped into their territory and shouted to the heavens about how cute they were. What was it that prompted people to fear them so much?

With her thoughts occupied, Annabeth barely noticed the new additions to the environment around her: The roaring of an engine, the stirring of wind, and the slamming of doors as people vacated the streets. Soon, she was completely alone.

That is, until the massive shape of a black vehicle stormed past, barely avoiding her as it rocketed down the road. She stopped in her tracks, watching as it swerved and drifted to and fro, knocking over scaffolds and boxes in its wake and nearly taking down several walls. It turned a corner, and soon it was gone. "What was... I didn't even get a good look at it..."

"You there!" From behind her came the voice of the woman from before, who was rushing toward her from up the street. Once they were close, she stopped, hands on her knees as she caught her breath. "You have experience with fighting Heartless, yes!?" Once she could speak, she practically lunged at Annabeth, frantically latching both hands to her arms. "You helped me before, so help me again! We were moving the stock back into the store, and then that thing swooped in and stole a barrel of my best wine! Get it back for me, please!"

The pieces came together rather easily. The swerving must have been a result from that same theft, as the large Heartless tried to get away while drunk off the wine. Annabeth grinned. This was something more akin to what she'd hoped to find. "Consider it done, ma'am!" She gave a rather loose salute as she turned, planted a foot behind her and kicked off into a sprint. She'd never be able to catch it on open ground, but the city was full of enough clutter and turns that it wouldn't be able to pick up speed even if it wanted to, meaning she had ample chance to catch up.

CH3: On the Hunt (Clear) Empty Re: CH3: On the Hunt (Clear)

Post by Baldamar Macgowan Sun Sep 25, 2016 6:44 pm

Unfortunately, things couldn't possibly be so simple. As soon as Annabeth rounded a corner, she was face-to-face with yet another new creature. The two leapt away from each other in surprise, and stopped to get a good look at each other.

It was definitely Heartless, judging by the black skin and yellow eyes, but this one in particular seemed more accustomed to the environment, with shoes that curled upward at the toes and a capey outfit that loosely draped over its shoulders alongside a light hood that covered most of its face. Its actual body was rather slim, and its skin tone was just light enough to make out a mouth of simple, jagged line across its face.

The two looked each other over for a short time before the Heartless took action, drawing two large curved swords that had previously been hidden behind its back. It took a flying jump at her, and the pink and black blades swung downward, only to be stopped by the pole of Annabeth's glaive. They locked together a moment, and split off the next.

Clearly, this was among the more violent Heartless, like the loud one that had stolen the wine before. Annabeth readied herself for a fight with the head of her weapon low and the tail end high to her right, as the Heartless hopped between two feet in excitement. As it jumped to and fro and its head twitched, it still managed to move its swords in a strange, flowing motion in front of itself. Meanwhile shining barriers of light erected around them, sealing possible exits from the area...

THEME: Arabian Dream

OBJECTIVE: Defeat the Heartless Luna Bandit.

Annabeth took the initiative this time, not eager to be caught off-guard again, and stepped forward with a slash to the right. The Bandit simply stepped back a bit, and she turned the blade around to swing back. Again, it was dodged easily. The Bandit stood just out of swinging distance, continuing its twitchy dance as if to tease her. "What's the point of dodging if you don't hit back, huh?" Annabeth asked it, and the Heartless seemed to take that as a cue of sorts. Both swords were raised high as it dashed forward, bringing them down once again. Just like before, both were blocked, but instead of staying there the Bandit brought them up and down repeatedly, attempting to break her guard instead of just pushing against it.

Her footing wavered, but Annabeth refused to back down just then. When the swords next made contact with her glaive, she swung it to the right, trying to knock them away. The curve of the blade's back caught and hooked on, and the two fighters locked once again, this time with both of them holding their weapons aside as they considered how to gain an upper hand, or even just escape the hold.

In the standstill, Annabeth got an idea of sorts, having remembered her newfound fire-conjuring abilities. She took her left hand off the glaive and spun, fixing her shoulder under the bar and forcing it aside. The Bandit's swords were struck free, as was the Heartless itself, and it staggered in surprise.

Annabeth's hand came back around and, with no guard present to stop it, was dashed across the creature's chest. In its wake, a line of fire erupted from it, and it dropped one of its weapons as it tried to pat out the flames. Meanwhile, Annabeth brought her glaive back up before slicing down from its shoulder, finally landing a solid hit perpendicular to the line of fire.

There was no time given to see if a wound had been made, for as soon as the blade cut through it burst into black smoke and drifted away, leaving no trace of itself save for the one discarded sword and several small marbles of varying color. Several seemed to be Munny, in fact.

Time seemed to slow as the opponent was struck down, and the shining walls dissipated...

-=+=-

Annabeth looked around at the environment, confused. Where had it gone? Perhaps that smoke was the signal that it had been defeated. Either way, it was gone, meaning she could continue her chase. She took a moment to snag the sword before beginning her sprint once again, but didn't stay to gather all the other things that had fallen to the floor.

With the sword in hand and the glaive resting partly on her shoulder, she burst later burst through the gates of the local bazaar. She immediately noticed that it wasn't empty and ducked back behind the door. From there, she could peek around the corner and view the area safely.

Luckily for her, the new presence wasn't another Bandit. Instead, it was exactly what she was looking for.

As the young woman cast the fire spell, that it should prepare. The Heartless readied it self with its own, minions (mainly just shadows with a single fat body.) as it waited for the Newcomer. The moment she turned the corner it darted forward, lashing out with its paw. Surprisingly to the woman, this heartless would look some what like that of a kitten, Just smaller than the shadows. It's eyes where that of large Yellow orbs, like shadows, with whiskers about as long as her finger. It bared it's small teeth as it growled, sounding like that of a kittens growl.

Perhaps 'lucky' wasn't quite the right word, given that she faced not just the one target, but a veritable crowd of Heartless that even seemed to have been waiting for her. Many of them were identical to the peaceful creatures she'd seen before, but a select few were positively massive, with round bodies that bulged out of straining corsets.

Annabeth wasn't given much more time to analyze the grouping of Heartless, however, as one that she'd previously mistaken for another Shadow leapt forward with a stubby black limb extended, making a clear attempt at an attack. The sword she collected from the Bandit was swung upward by instinct alone, and the dull inner curve caught under its forelegs. Its momentum canceled any semblance of control she had over the block, and so both it and the sword were stricken from her hand, falling to the ground in turn.

"Well, it was almost cute," Annabeth remarked as she took up her glaive proper, though she couldn't help but wonder... How come something so small could steal a full barrel of wine and still move at the speeds she'd seen?

As the challenge was laid out before her, barriers of light formed from the ground around the area, sealing possible exits...

CH3: On the Hunt (Clear) Empty Re: CH3: On the Hunt (Clear)

Post by Caduceus Thu Oct 20, 2016 6:50 pm

From the beaten desserts to the palace walls cutting off the poor from the wealthy, a breeze slid it's way in, naping the neck of sweaty arabic merchants. The warmth which shrouded this place, this city which was so in the middle of nothing. That no one rarely visited outside areas, except for when some kind of fame or fortune was rumored to lie in the breaches of danger, pitiful. This entire world was so small, and the only fortune it had was robbed from it's people and given to a filthy 'sultan'. The population so small yet so stuck on it's belief that it needed someone to lead it. This place wasn't even enough to be considered a nation really, it was more like a prison. The oceans of sand locking the inhabitants inside like some sort of Alcatraz. Ugh, the entire thought of being dictated by a man in a dress... Was utterly unappealing.

Especially when a glowing entity peared at it from many feet away, on a hilltop. He showed no extreme disdain or even care for what was inside instead, he looked around. He sensed something nearby. Conflict. The scarlet Remnant moved, it moved at a pace which could be considered superhuman and the leap it took planted it high in the air. Wherever it intended to land, only time would tell.

Hundreds, maybe thousands of feet up. Yet Caduceus calmly rose, both legs extended as it scanned and zoomed in on multiple things happening in this world. Not a lot of them good, and then, he saw it. A girl cutting down a heartless, the white orbs seemed to narrow, and the Remnant grew angry. He descended inside the city and landed hard on a stony balcony which broke off and exploded on the ground. Rising from the ashes Caduceus walked. Two minutes later, he stood behind Annabeth-Lee, and clenched his fist. If she were to turn to see him, she'd easily be able to identify frustration in his being. Unlike these small heartless, the crimson entity was much stronger. Able to wipe away vast sections of armies, and even pick up buildings with it's strength alone. Though-- it had only been awake for a short time, and was not aware of such abilities. Merely, it acted to input, and if it wanted to be in the air, it would jump, if it wanted to break walls, it broke them. The monster's mind seemed to be at a very basic level currently. Meaning it had not gathered itself much as a humanoid just yet.

The Lingering Sentiment stomped it's foot at the girl, and if she turned to meet it's gaze, she'd see the wind stirring and crimson energy begginng to levitate rocks surrounding himself. This was her warning, if she were to hurt these creatures, Caduceus would be a hero, and save them. The conflict was not in her favor.

The heartless, At least the minor ones (the shadows) moved back a little, as the girl swiped and "deflected" the kitten. The Fat bodies on the other hand, where not as intimidated from the act of the human, The three Stomping there way over to her. Before any of them could get back, the Kitten was back on its feet, and it seemed to go for a attack on Annabeth, though it's true aim was at the thing moving behind her. Not being able to tell what it was other than something that can take its place as the leader of these heartless. After the swipe it will hiss at the Other Heartless, Eyeing it down with its big Yellow eyes.

CH3: On the Hunt (Clear) Empty Re: CH3: On the Hunt (Clear)

Post by Baldamar Macgowan Thu Oct 20, 2016 9:38 pm

The stampede began, and the kitten was already sailing through the air once again. This time, Annabeth was a bit more ready, and dashed to the side for it to pass. The larger Heartless were sluggish, and their earnest charging carried what would have been a frustratingly slow pace for anyone in a hurry. This hippity-hoppity bundle of fur, however, was a different case. There was no telling where it would be the next moment, and so it made for a high-priority target.

It seemed to have priorities of its own, however. Rather than her, the kitten was entirely focused on a previously unnoticed presence. Its exact nature was difficult to discern, as it didn't really look like a "thing", so to speak. Rather, it was a sort of void in the air, a sort of gap filled with intermingling reds and purples, which took on the vague shape of something almost human. There were two white pits that could have been eyes, settled in the middle of what could have been the face in the front of what could have been the head of what could have been its body. Meanwhile, it stomped away with what could have been its foot.

It was very clearly not Heartless from its general look, but for some reason it gave off the same feeling. That odd warmth that she'd noticed coming off of some things now and then. The Heartless possessed it, as did a certain thorn that had been in her side some time ago, but most "normal" people she'd met didn't. Maybe these "special people" really were Heartless, but in a different form? It was something she'd have to contemplate later.

CH3: On the Hunt (Clear) Empty Re: CH3: On the Hunt (Clear)

Post by Caduceus Thu Oct 20, 2016 10:42 pm

The Remnant was indeed a solid figure of color, and right now, it wanted nothing but to help these other heartless. Upon noticing that it's past brethren were unfamiliar with him, Caduceus unclenched his fists, knelt on one knee with an open palm, and bowed. Whether or not the heartless accepted it's peace offering, a flash of crimson could be seen as a zig-zag of red and purple hues snagged up all the kittens and got them to high ground almost straight from a bowed position. They were much to small and weak for this task of battle, instead, Cad would fight Annabelle, should the bigger heartless seek to team up and defend themselves alongside him, he'd happily oblige to that. The mute Sentiment pulled the brakes on the opposite side of the field from which he began after the last kitten had be grabbed up and sat on a ledge a few feet away from the small battle zone. Perhaps not purposely, but Cad had a hard time keeping it's potential on the low from his enemy. Making it noticeable that he could completely make a distance around the surrounding characters in little under a few seconds as just prior shown. Unlike a ranged caster or mage, Caduceus focused on all of the physical statistics which made up a great fighter. Able to crush vehicles with it's bare-hands, or kick down bulldozers with it's feet. But he had no true self-awareness of his powers nor how to control them just yet. For now he was little more than a normal heartless intellectually, acting only to defend them and simply, "exist." as the old saying goes.

The Sentiment was now officially ready to throw down. It made a calm, collected, spinning hand gesture to depict a message to the girl, as it tilted it's head sizing up her proportions to discover if she had any invisible strengths not apparent to it prior to it's arrival. The other hand emulated that of a thumb pointing away. It stood to reason that this was her second warning to leave and admit surrender or defeat before he participated in combat. Should she continue to engage these Heartless; the remnant would act on impulse alone. And attempt taking her life-- just as she did the heartless earlier. Should the girl listen, which it doubted she'd do, the red entity would continue to stalk her from afar until she left this planet. Making keen sureity she not bother his people. The red remnant might've not been a heartless anymore, but if anything, Caduceus felt some kind of urge to protect it's "people". Keybladers protect their people all the time, so why can't the tables turn and he protect his?

Now then, the monster furthered his silent warning by pushing sand to the side with his 'shoe', as it's knees bent and it's arms raised. The Remnant assumed the position of a typical martial artist-- stancing in a way that was neither offensive or defensive, yet ready to assume either in a moment's hesitation. The energy circling the being from earlier was now fluctuating more aggressively. While a weapon would've fancied him better than his hands and intimidation tactics. It couldn't exactly figure out how to summon anything like that right at this second. Meaning the odd creature might be forced to search for something later on, by off chance he doesn't die or get taken in by custody of sorts after this event. If anything, the monster was slowly seeming more and more human the way it was offering the girl peaceful passage away. It was up to her whether or not she accept this and take it as education towards how the darkness truly is. A heartless is no different from an animal, hunting to survive. There needs to be a balance, a mutual understanding between the forces of good and evil... Light is not good, Darkness is not evil. They are merely tools to use, and tools to misuse.

The void.. creature... thing simply pushed the smaller Heartless up and away, setting it down atop one of the nearby tents before it faced her again. Its gestures toward her were deliberate, and likely some sort of attempt at communication, and she didn't understand a word of it. "Could you repeat that in English?" she asked, not quite registering its threatening nature. "Write it down, maybe? I'm sure there's some receipt paper around here, somethin' like that..." She took up no sort of stance or ready, seeing no reason to attack something that was clearly trying to talk.

Still, there were more questions to ask. First and foremost, just what was this supposed to be? Why was it here, and how come it seemed so at-peace with the Heartless trying to cut it down?

The remnant found itself growing with frustration, even resentment. It was fairly obvious he could not talk and she was not getting the idea; which hinted that her perceptiveness was quite low. Perhaps, since their was nothing else he could do, he'd have to smoke the fox out of the the hole. He'd scare her away. With knees bent, the ground shot sand in all directions, the hardened earth cracking beneath him from just the leap. Where Cade once stood, a small crater inclined itself to the ground. The burst of win alone was enough to blind Annabeth for a moment if it had surprised her. On top of that, twenty feet in the air, Caduceus came down on her location, he swung a back handed fist outward, causing a ripple of wind to surge forth. Had any fireballs, possibly even other magics been shot out at the sentiment, the wind would catch and knock them off balance or overwhelm them and extinguish their effects. Coming in quick behind the visible wave of gale-force wind was the Lingering Sentiment itself. Caduceus attempted to plant a fist in the ground where Annabeth had stood previously. Should she still be there, the fist would plant into her face, causing massive damage and dropping her entire body like a clothesline. If she dodged, he'd drop his body downwards, skirting his form against the flooring like that of a break-dancer to sweep her leg before she could escape entirely. Or-- on the off-chance she tried to hit him with her stick, his foot would instead raise up and parry it into the sandy gravel. Where he'd use his ankle to bend and crack it in half before lunging off into a dodge roll. Thus disarming the mage-- and clearly showing that what he was doing, was telling her to get lost and leave the heartless alone.

CH3: On the Hunt (Clear) Empty Re: CH3: On the Hunt (Clear)

Post by Baldamar Macgowan Sat Oct 22, 2016 12:20 pm

Annabeth had no time to think or react. Within the span of a second, there was dust in the air, and in her eyes, blinding her. In her attempts to wipe it away, she was caught with a powerful gust of wind. Her boots kept her planted then, only for a reddened fist to catch her directly in the face as soon as her sleeve came away from her eyes. With that, she was dropped to the floor immediately, the back of her head slamming against the dense sands and her body flipping over shortly after, sliding away from him with the momentum as his combo continued in the space between them.

She was at a loss. This whatever-it-was had struck her so quickly, and with so little that she could have called a warning... Meanwhile, her vision spun from when her head had been hit, and getting back up was difficult. In her confusion, she was still able to register the strange fact that she wasn't bleeding. On top of that, her nose, which should have been downright crushed by the force of that punch, was still perfectly intact. Her senses stated otherwise, of course, as plenty of things felt broken, but when she felt it with a hand she found nothing out of place. How had he struck her so hard, and left her so battered while technically not injuring her at all?

Then it hit her. Figuratively, that is. He was using magic, at least in some form, and that was something she could do too! Probably.

She rose to her feet again, excited to try something. She held her glaive out in front of herself, sliding her off-hand along the upper handle and the flat of the blade. In its wake, small flames were left, which eventually came together into a coating of fire overtop of the already-sharp blade. Then, she took a proper stance with the newly-ignited glaive in hand, ready to fight for real. However, she wobbled in place and her vision was still blurred. She could have sworn she heard an alarm somewhere...

CH3: On the Hunt (Clear) Empty Re: CH3: On the Hunt (Clear)

Caduceus was surprised to see her take the full force of his damage and still stand up, bt just because she could absorb shock damage; in no way meant she could withstand much of it.  A few more hits to the head, an bang, a concussion was soon to follow.

The fact that she wobbled, and the inspection of her eye movement and blink rate was enough for the Remnant to understand her visual prowess had been hampered, if Caduceus could continue to make use of her weakened vision. He'd have a successful chance of ending the battle without even being touched.

Unlike his first attack, the lingering sentiment raised it's leg and slammed down so rough that sand all across a twenty five foot radius of him lifted into the air; blanketing him from sight. Then, while the sand was still rising, Cad used the veil of brown which covered the entire battlefield to rocket in a 90 degree angle around her destination so that he was sure she could not see him. Flying off like a door ripped from the hinges, Cad cupped his hand and would attempt to inflict a massive slap over her ear. The force would be enough to blow her eardrum should it land, and further disorientate her vision. In fact, if she were even able to stand instead of collapse, that would've been a testament to her constitution alone. But it was unlikely.

If the girl somehow, and the probability was quite low when taking into account the walls of sand blocking all ranges of sight for her. Ended up dodging and using her flaming rod against him, Caduceus would hit the breaks, side-step, and use his right hand to karate chop the object, mixed with his super-strength, he'd again attempt snapping the little stick. Manipulating his opposite arm/hand, and nothing but his index and middle finger, he'd throw a precise pierce towards the pressure point located two finger widths below the center of her belly button. The spot is usually used to help elderly, or even pregnant women if done slowly or gradually. But fast-paced destruction of this pressure point could severely harm a person, which makes it's typical use quite different than the way Caduceus would be using it right now.

In this case, Cad would focus the attack to harm Annabeth-- and finish her before she even had a chance to try.

Annabeth braced herself for his next move, surely prepared, now that she'd seen his speed, to counter whatever he may throw her way.

...Unfortunately, what he 'threw' her was a blast to the floor that unsettled the sands, and in her rush to move forward he footing was lost. Rather than fall face-first into his seemingly endless series of alternative scenarios of attack, she dropped backward, and landed a tad bit roughly on her rear. The flames on her glaive (which was not a stick, as the Kickoff had been replaced with an actual weapon before her visit to Agrabah) flickered away along with her focus. When she brought her eyes up again, she was greeted by a pair of fingers death-jabbing her nose, and soon she was laid against the ground, and she was out.

Time seemed to slow as the last attack landed, and the barriers faded away...

Annabeth Lee-Clement has been KO'd.

Laying before him was a body, and the heartless began to surround his defeated foe, while he knew they were very hungry... He could not let this girl die, throwing her over his shoulder, he prepared to head off this world. Taking her along with him, unless he were to be stopped by another factor to close off his escape.

The mute creature was unsure what to do with a human, but he knew of planets like Traverse Town in which he could dump her. If that were the case, he'd head there now, and let her off in the world before the heartless could get bold enough to pursue him.

Cade snagged the girls glaive off the ground, and began his departure.
