Alexander, Prince of Dreams

Personality: Alexander is a very peculiar young man, seeming to be lost in an air of ignorance and wonder. Not particularly at want for anything, Alexander is a very exploratory type of person with a very curious nature who desires to experiment and learn about his surroundings. A bit of a ditz, Alexander possess the ability to think critically about very specific social implications but doesn't yet possess the ability to apply it in other practical ways.

In fact, in terms of being social Alexander is a bit of a butterfly. He is delightful and pleasant, seldom rude even if provoked to be so and entirely clever in his retorts when he has need to have them. It's not often that he finds himself stumped in terms of handling social occasions, but due to him growing up as a nobody his childhood saw him largely disinterested in other people. So while he understands etiquette and has a decent sense of empathy, he doesn't know how to maintain interpersonal relationships.

Particularly, he sees a lot of relationships as an emotional slog through landmines. While he can adequately navigate them, it feels fairly transparent as all he can really do (especially in his new position of power) is compromise. He feels that friends are fleeting in the sense that they are fickle as to what they want, and worries that if he doesn't agree with them on most important issues they'll abandon him. Most of this is unfounded as he has never personally experienced it, but based on how he has seen politics handled among nobles.

This has actually resulted in him having a stunted and innocent view of complicated issues like war and sex.

Alexander's emotions aren't exactly simplistic in the sense of only being shades of Happy, Sad, or Angry. Rather, he can feel the entire array of emotions, but much like a Toddler learning to walk Alexander's reactions aren't entirely natural. Despite having all but completely regrown his heart, Alexander's emotions still have an alien feeling to him. When he feels anything, he is usually hesitant to acknowledge it, preferring to ignore all but the most basic emotions because they're far easier to interpret and deal with.

He is also a very trusting and naive person, usually responding to bad advice as though it were a good idea without giving it much critical thought unless it has obviously negative effects on those around him. He is easily manipulated and trusts those in his inner circle perhaps a little too much, applying very little scrutiny towards their words often. The fact is that out of all of those around Alexander, he is the most fit to lead in addition to being the only rightful heir. However, with ulterior motives flooding his ability to make judgments with impure ideals, he may never reach his full potential.

Still, he is fairly incorruptible. Above all else Alexander is very passively stubborn, often hearing advice but not adhering to it. While typically a negative trait, when one considers those in his circle it's easy to understand why this subconscious mechanism sprouted out of his already willful nature. Alexander is easily drawn into bad situations because of his curiosity, but if he refuses to participate in an occurrence or decides he wants something, he usually devises a way that he can attain it.

This side of him is devilish and mischievous, revealing either his diplomatic and manipulative potential or his clever and ingenious side. While he still doesn't actually want for anything, god help everyone if he ever does. The results will either be heartbreaking or hilarious.

History: Born under the name Alan Reed, Alexander was a descendant of the royal bloodline of the Castle of Dreams. The young noble was always headstrong and curious, prone to wondering off and exploring the woods of his Homeworld without permission (and sometimes despite being told not too). When Alan was five, he encountered a lone shadow Heartless in the woods. Not old enough to be wary of the creature, Alan approached it only to have his heart claimed.

When he had woken up in Twilight Town, he was lost and disoriented. He remembered what had happened, but he couldn't feel anything, as though his mind had gone numb to the fear of being separate from his family. Beside him, the name "Alexander" was scratched into the stone. For a few days he stayed in Twilight Town, until his distressed mother, who had journeyed from Castle of Dreams trying to find her missing son encountered him sleeping beside the name.

Immediately realizing what had happened, she retrieved the boy and took him back to Castle of Dreams. For the next decade he was called Alexander- no last name, just simply that- by his family and friends. When Hayden swept through the Castle of Dreams and annihilated the royal family, Alexander escaped destruction because of his name. Afterwards, he was taken up to be the next in line for the throne, as he was the only individual with royal blood that remained. Nobody living knows of his true nature as a nobody. To them, Alexander is the Prince of Dreams- the noble with no family name.
