Personality: Valerie rarely speaks with any sort of emotion, and neither does she give any indication that she does, indeed, feel anything of the like. When she moves, it's always with grace and dignity of a noblewoman, never exerting any more energy than what was needed. And when she speaks, it is always quiet, minimal, business-like and straight to the point, sometimes leading her to be painfully blunt. She doesn't really react to anything that doesn't directly concern her, but would always try anything she is presented with. Within reason, of course. But should she feel threatened, she would not think twice about drawing her sword. No matter the situation, it's likely that her reactions would be blank and stoic.

However, since a heart had started to grow inside her, she had began to show a few emotions, mainly joy and sadness. She had grown to be concerned about the well being of others, however she is still not there yet. Her interests and curiosity are more pronounced as well. She feels compassion towards her fellow Nobodies, and due to the rising threats of the Heartless, she harbors a dislike towards them, especially when they threaten her people.

Appearance:
With a well-developed body, Val stands around 5'6" tall with a slender build, pale complexion, light, blue eyes, and long, midnight blue hair that falls just below her shoulders. Her hair is usually tied into a ponytail however. She wears a regal and noble-looking attire of black, white, dark blue and gold that allows free movement in battle. Her coattail has a number of shaped gemstones, four on each and having different colors. She has a silver pendant that she keeps hidden under her clothes.

History: Valerie's story before she became a Nobody was a mystery. She had no recollection of the past, not even a single hint. All she knew came from a pendant in her hands when she awoke. On the back side of the jewelry, she found an engraved message: "To my sweet Val". Strangely, in that moment, she uttered her name, yet didn't know where it came from. Even stranger, she didn't even bat an eye to the fact and simply began to walk aimlessly. Mostly because standing by idly would get her nowhere.

When Valerie met with other Nobodies, namely Devias and Lorencia, a number of unexpected events happened. First, a mysterious stranger approached them and spoke of an evil man who needed to be destroyed for the 'cycle' to be broken. They were left with little explanation, but something urged them to press on with the stranger's quest. Having little guidance, they roamed aimlessly for years, unknowingly preparing themselves for a battle that would cost them everything.

As the years passed their new hearts grew and more and more heartless attacked them. With their growing awareness, the trio sought out the source of the attacks. Little did they know that they were walking right into a trap. The sources kept moving about, just a step ahead of them until their hearts grew whole and the so-called cycle was ready to begin again. An ambitious man named Cort was waiting for them at the Castle of Dreams, presumably after taking it over with heartless, or moving in after the leader disappeared. Cort was not a heartless, but someone who sought to control and create them. To make loyal and powerful heartless, he would forcefully create them by subjecting people to a ritual that removed their hearts and feeding it darkness until it succumbed, therefore creating a heartless. However, the vessel would be kept alive and reconstructed if needed, then left in random worlds so their hearts could start growing again.

Cort had a number of these people who he used like animals. But seeing that the regrowing hearts took too long for his liking, he tried many things to speed it up, including leaving fragments of his victims' memories intact with the shell, which would stir the individual towards a path that would make the hearts grew faster. But he got greedy and left too much intact, allowing the stranger Val and company met to piece everything together. It was this stranger that created a plan to stop it all, so he selected a number of Nobodies and manipulated their journeys for the truth behind the scenes.

It all lead to the final showdown where a mere hundred Nobodies, more or less, fought against an almost endless horde of heartless on a number of worlds, however these were small-scale and didn't attract too much attention. It had coincided with the heartless' increased aggression, so was completely overshadowed. But in the end, Cort was defeated, and the heartless he had created retreated to the realm of darkness. But in order to defeat Cort, all the Nobodies involved had to lose their hearts once more. Not all of them were reborn as Nobodies.

The mysterious stranger figured out that Val was from a family of nobles and suggested on her taking charge of the Castle of Dreams. At that time, Val had lost her memories of everything, and thus felt no obligation to take the throne, or even felt any sort of recognition of the one who had helped them. But having no direction in her life, she settled for the path that was closest to her. Soon, a tiny shard of a heart began to grow inside her, and she felt responsible for those who chose to stay in the kingdom. They were mostly Nobodies who gravitated towards the castle after Cort's defeat.

For the time being, the Castle of Dreams was a sanctuary for Nobodies, and any who would settle in, so long as there wasn't any trouble.
