Summer Tournament: Sebalix vs Rience

“If the participants would please pick heads or tails, kupo!~” the fluttering moogle would say, flipping a small coin into the air.

"Tails."

"Then I suppose that leaves me with Heads."

As the referee vanished, Rience would as well, appearing behind his opponent, his twin tanto blades, Exacture and Dissectum in each hand. He held one in an inverted grip, and attempted to stab down into Sebalix's shoulder as he flipped the other blade around into an inverted grip as well, attempting to Stab her in the waist as well! Immediately afterwards, they both seemed to be pushed fifteen feet away from each other. This was his spacial magic at work. He would make this a hell of a fight for her. Once they were pushed away, his blades vanished in purple energy, leaving his hands free. He then held them close together, the bottoms of his palms touching as some strange glittering powder formed in his hands. It took all of a second for the spell to charge, and then a moderately large chunk of glass was launched from his hands. He would try his best to not use many of his Heartless Traits, but they were certainly hard to hide, considering that his glass was glittering black rather than white. He had plenty of other skills however, and they would all be put to the test in battle. He knew this, and he also understood that certain things would not be possible. He would not attempt to call upon his brethren. They would be overwhelmed by the easy collection of hearts, and would not listen to him. He knew this already. He was on his own in this battle.

Sebalix saw as her opponent vanished with the floating creature. With a first move like that, there was two logical options: either he was perching for a long range attack or to get an attack from behind. Both of which led to her best option: she activated her [Intangibility] skill and her [Foresight] confirmed that he went with the latter option, his attacks soon phasing through her.

She turned around as he separated their distance. If she could feel it, she would be impressed.

“Impressive,” she said flatly, as he began his second attack, throwing a chunk of Glass at her and thus telling her that she should remain in her [Intangible] state.

She began to walk to face him from a different angle, she didn’t want to reveal too many of her abilities just yet, playing out her cards this early will be a fool’s game.

Skills Used (Nothingness ST and Moon ST for reference) :

-Intangibility: Sebalix can become completely intangible, allowing for anything physical or magical to pass through her as well as allowing for her to pass through obstacles. This lasts for up to 5 posts. CD: Amount of posts intangible + 2 posts

-Foresight: Sebalix passively examines the memory of the instant she is in, allowing her to see a full 360 degrees.

He didn't feel his blades pass through her. So, he only noticed upon his spell passing through her as if she were air, making it useless as it traveled for its full twenty foot range, dispersing in the wind. So she was intangible. Okay. That simply meant that she could not harm him, as he could not harm her. He held his left hand out, glass glittering in the shape of a small sword before a cloud of darkness formed, his sword Minutum Gladium appearing in his hand. He would wait, but he would not remain unarmed. That was not something he would allow to happen. It simply would not stand.

Even now, as his eyes followed the girl, Rience knew exactly what she was. He had known from the very start. He sensed a great emptiness emanating from her. A nobody. That was what he was fighting. He was curious to see her immunity. His own nobody proved that he was immune to fire, and Laxan had proved her immunity to ice. He did not know what she was immune to, but he could only pray that it was not any of the magic he used. For now, he would wait her out. She couldn't keep up her intangibility forever, or he would win through the sheer act of taking the initiative.

Sebalix watched as her opponent summoned a weapon. It appeared that he was a well rounded fighter. No doubt this fight was going to be difficult, but one of the two will have to take initiative. She quickly mulled her options before setting on a decision. She dropped out of her [Intangible] state and opening her palm, launching a thin purple [Moon Beam] at him. An attack like this was more than likely obvious, but that was her point. She wanted this to be obvious, it was going to be her next few actions that makes or breaks the fight for her however.

Wait for it...wait for it..now. The moment Sebalix fired her magic, Rience was gone again, vanishing before appearing above her, striking downwards at her with his sword before holding his hand out and firing another spell simultaneously. Four chunks of powdered glass fired down upon her head. If they connected, each would explode, doing minor amounts of damage. But that wasn't the threat. The real threat was the glass hanging in the air. Truthfully, that was only a threat to somebodies, he knew this. But still, it would cut and sting to have that grinding against one's skin. He quickly positioned himself to land a few feet behind her, preparing to block anything she sent his way.

She nearly got lucky though. He'd almost been hit by that. If he hadn't been able to teleport, that would have hit him square in the chest. Still, this was a bit unnerving. She was very much his equal. What this would come down to was skill.

When Rience teleported, Sebalix put herself on the defensive. While it wasn’t the preferred position, it was better than a stalemate.

Now where did he go? she thought to herself, examining the area’s memory. She doubted her opponent will attempt the same maneuver as before, but it was still an option.

Her [Foresight] showed her his position above her, and she turned to face her opponent. She saw the sword swing coming, and was able to dodge that easily enough, the spell was another story. The chunks of powdered glass he threw at her took her by surprise and she instinctively threw her arms in front of her to protect herself, the explosions tearing at her arms. They were minor, much less than she expected. Meaning there must be something more to this spell than just pure offense. She hesitantly dropped her arms and took a step forward, soon learning the objective of the spell. Slight tingles ran up her arms, and she was able to see small glistens of glass hanging in the air. She would have never though to see Glass used like this, and it was as dangerous as anyone would make it out to be.

She narrowed down the options in her head. This man, well, Heartless she should say, has revealed his capability to use magic and potent swordsmanship. That combined with his Teleportation made him that much more dangerous. She needed to gain an edge up if she wanted to come out as victor. She took a glance at his sword. While she was able to foresee his sword attacks this far, the psychological component of suddenly losing an option to attack might just give her the edge she needs and open up an opportunity to attack.

Sebalix whisked her hand in front of her (twitching her eye slightly to the still hanging glass that cut her), [Banishing] the sword in her opponent’s hand into Nothingness.

While he hadn't been expecting her to be able to do it, he felt his sword give way to emptiness. A good trick. But not enough to stop him. As his sword vanished from sight, he smirked. It was nowhere near enough to stop him. Up until now, his right hand had hung slightly behind him. But, the moment his sword started to vanish, he had summoned a pistol. And now, as the fifteen feet snapped back to normal, he pointed the pistol at the Nobody.

Check. And. Mate. He said as he fired his gun. As it went off, he flexed his control over space once more, warping the location of the bullet to be a mere foot from her knee before momentum and the rules of space took over again. She would be hard pressed to dodge this. At least, that was his hope. There was a little bit of time left. Enough for him to fire off another shot. This one was aimed squarely at her left shoulder. He fired again, and then prepared for any retaliation. She had been unarmed thus far..but had shown she was capable of using magic. If she sent a spell his way, he would have no time to dodge. He would have to take the full brunt of it. That was how close they were. It irritated him, but that was simply how things worked at this close of a range.

Sebalix’s eyes widened when Rience pulled a pistol from behind his back paired with the distance between them snapping back to normal.

Was this his plan all along?, she thought, her teeth clenched.

Either way, the distance between them was short enough where an attack from either one was extremely unlikely to miss. The Nobody took the bullet to her knee, wincing slightly before firing a [Moon Beam] straight at the Heartless’ chest. The second bullet was going to hit, she knew that this far, but she still had one more trick up her sleeve. If she had to use it, then victory or defeat will be decided at that moment.

The moment the second bullet hit, Sebalix collapsed down on one knee, her unwounded leg holding her up while she clutched her left shoulder. She looked over to Rience, waiting for his next move.
