Spawn Empty Spawn

The End of the World was just the beginning.

Tobias and Angelica had already been disposed of - the poor Replica's did not even feel the end coming, their shells dissipating into the ether after the Nothing that held them together was terminated. What was the point, now that the truth was clear, now that the same scene had returned. It was the same every time.. every time she was dead. Every time he killed her. Every time he wore the face without mercy.

For the greater good, aye?

The bare onyx-coloured golem walked on the unstable flooring in the realm, not caring to take step or watch for pitfalls. That would be just as good as any fate he would dare receive. In his hand was the Pandora Matrix (the project he had so dumbly fabricated as the "Pandora Borg"). Even though his memory had been erased, Greed subconsciously reconstructed the device that took the lives of so many, including infants that he had taken from the blackest corners in the galaxy - and of course, his angel.

For the greater good, aye?

Though his legs would not grow tired, he bore the sentiment and stopped, taking a knee to gander at the device. A small, golden sphere, almost like a stone. With the proper command, it would generate a profuse Artificial Light born from Darkness: A Light that could rip his heart right out. That would rip his heart right out. He deserved it, too - all Greed ever did was take and destroy, hence the moniker he had bestowed on his amnesiac double in shame, a reminder to the one who forgot. He should place the stone to his chest and end it all.

But he was scared. So, so scared. He built this body to fend of mortality and continue his works, to complete the research on heartless and find a way to exterminate them. But he didn't want to go. He didn't deserve to leave in the time that seemed so short. His face hung dry, with every part of his body feeling the weight of his decision. He was so scared to know what was next, after death. Greed wouldn't be able to bring himself to it, would he? This mental breakdown, this eruption of memory, this broken mind - it wasn't fair.

But for the greater good, aye?

After a blinding flare, the light turned to Darkness as it consumed the golem, attracting the cockroaches of the inky depths who would consume him, a fitting fate for the mad man who never did any good. Who did what he could. Who only loved his daughter and hated those that could take her from him.

But the greatest good is death, at least, for him.
