Caravan Escort (Closed) (Non-cannon mission)

Minfilia had arrived in a small mining village named Oozomot, It acted as a sort of base camp for travelers who wished to travel through a jagged mountain pass. Travelers could stock up on supplies, learn about recent weather sightings, or write their will...  However, the mountain has recently become almost impassible due to the threat of heartless roaming across the mountain side. Currently Minfilia and another's mission was to escort a caravan that held materials that another small village located on the opposite side of the mountain needed for crafts, this village was called Tomozoo, it was another small village except this village was known for fishing, it was located near a large lake which spawns a variety of excellent tasting fish worth their own in gold.

Minfilia had to meet with a man named Yun, he was an older man with gray shaggy hair and a long blue/gray robe. As minfilia made her way through the small village she got an occasional odd glance but no one cause any trouble luckily, in what felt like no time at all she found the waiting by a caravan with two brown horses. "You must be Yun, I am here to take you thorough the mountain, once another companion of mine arrives we shall be on our way." Yun nodded and sat down patiently for the other attendee.

Val was sitting in a caravan going to a little mining settlement, simply watching out the back of her cart as the rocks they passed went to oblivion. It wasn't that difficult to hitch a free ride. All she had to do in return was fight off any trouble if they ran into it on the path. Luckily, it was very uneventful, and before long (and after a couple of hours of napping), the caravan stopped and unloaded their crates and boxes. Val herself helped herself off and thanked the caravan leader for the ride.

She scanned her memory of what it was she was doing here in the first place, and looked towards another woman who seemed out of place with the rest. Although the Nobody couldn't say anything about it since she herself was sticking out like a sore thumb. She looked more like someone the caravan would be protecting rather than the other way around.

In any case, she walked up to the young woman and the man she was talking to. If she recalled rightly, the woman was likely her partner, and the man was the caravan leader. Yun, was his name, she recalled. "Are you Yun, the caravan master?" she asked without much feeling or even tone, but her voice and posture would betray a regal upbringing. "I am Valerie Noria, and I've been tasked to safeguard your convoy." She bowed elegantly, placing her right hand over her chest.

"hehe, a bunch of young girls are defending my goods, you'll probably do better than most of them around here! Haha!" Minfilia looked awkwardly at the old man and then back to Valerie. "Greetings, I am Minfilia, I am here to defend the caravan along side you. Minfilia made a small curtsy and looked back towards Yun. "Shall we be on our way then?" Yun nodded and whipped the horses, indicating it was time to move on.

The first bit of the trek up the mountain was smooth for the most part with no heartless interruptions or delays. However, as fate would have it a small group of shadows suddenly appeared around the cart, in total MInfilia had counted 7 shadows, not too difficult she though. Minfilia raised her weapon, begining to cast Nature's gift and thus flowers began to bloom along the craggy mountain side, also a  gentle rain began to drop from the sky. Minfilia had then commanded her flowers to release a bright pink powder in the air for her allies, this powder then strengthened Minfilia and Valerie.

The white-haired girl tilted her head at Yun's remark, unsure what to make of it. When her partner introduced herself, she politely nodded to her, saying, "It's nice to meet you." The path was uneventful for a while. The occasional rocks and pebbles would slide down the slope as they walked, but it wasn't much of a danger. For the most part, Val remained silent for the whole trip. There were times where some of the people with them tried to strike a conversation with her, but her lack of interest and the abundance of simple one-word responses had discouraged them, which was a little disappointing since Val enjoyed simple conversations like that.

The caravan's trek suddenly halted on account of seven small humaniods with a spherical head. Their presence seemed to make the others panic, and Val took that as her cue to arm herself. Taking her sword, Luna, into her left hand, she assumed a battle-ready posture and materialized five arrows above her, which she immediately fired at the five closest shadows. She took notice of the flowers and their bloom, and stepped lightly as to not step on them as she moved forward and slashed at one shadow that attempted to get one of the horses. A dark orb of obsidian pieced together and orbited around her, ready to strike out at the shadows if they come close.

Minfilia was amazed at Valerie, she seemed extremely powerful and Minfilia was glad to be an ally instead of foe... So far 6 of the shadows we're due to Valerie, but where was the 7th? at that moment Minfilia heard a  man scream out, she looked to the back of the caravan and noticed Yun being attacked by the small devilish creature, Minfilia created a small ball of light in her hands and shot it towards the heartless, hitting it straight in the chest causing it to fall back into nothing but a memory.

Yun looked at the young girl and nodded to her, thankful for saving his life. Minfilia smiled at him and returned to where Valerie was. "Good work, I'm impressed by your skills i'm glad we're on the same side here." Minfilia smiled at the girl and then turned back towards Yun, she yelled that we're ready to depart and thus the Caravan was back on it's way.

With the last of the attacking heartless being felled by her partner, the Nobody sheathed her sword and stood by until it was time for them to move. She remained stoic, and when her partner commended her, she gave the girl a bow out of habit. "Thank you, miss."

In a few short moments, they were on their way again. Val walked a little ahead of the caravan this time, her gaze focused forward. The orb of obsidian continued to orbit her closely for a while until she reformed it into to wrap around her right hand like a gauntlet. There were plenty of heartless here according to the people who hired them, so she had to remain alert and at the ready. The first attackers were likely just scouts for a bigger wave.

The small group we're almost to the middle of the mountain and over the horizon could see the small fishing village in the distance, they we're thankfully getting close to the village and this trip would come to an end. Before they could march any closer to the village however Minfilia heard a strange rattling noise almost like metal. All of a sudden out of a small cave they were next to 2 armored heartless game jumbling out along with 4 more shadows, Oh great Minfilia thought to herself.

Minfilia ran towards Yun and decided to protect him from any straggles while hopefully Valerie could take care of the main group. "Valerie, i'll protect Yun handle the main force while I take out anything that tries to get to the caravan!" As Minfilia finished her sentence a knight came lashing out towards her causing a small tear but no real damage to her. Minfilia called upon nature and caused thorns to rise from the ground rapping around the heartless and crushing it into dust within seconds.

"Alright," the young girl said solemnly. immediately rushing to the cave entrance where she crossed swords with the heartless knight who tried to slash down on her. The four shadows ran from the deeper part of the cave to attempt to slip by her while she was busy with her adversary. She didn't let that happen however. Val was hard pressed to keep the enemy from getting by, so she quickly reverted the obsidian gauntlet back to a sentinel orb and had it slam into the knight's chest, which made it shatter explosively, sending the knight hurdling back.

The four smaller heartless were quickly getting through. Using her innate mastery over obsidian, she took the shards of her sentinel and used it to wrap around the Shadows' legs, and slammed them into the cave wall while she materialized another sentinel and sent the orb crashing into them. Three shadows perished, the fourth using its powers to escape her grasp and reappear somewhere near the caravan. She'd have taken care of it too, but she felt a sharp pain slam into her back, knocking her down. While she took care of the smaller heartless, she lost sight of the knight and paid for it. She turned on her back, but the sword was already coming down. The knight stabbed her right on her chest. But the weapon never even connected. It simply phased through her as she made her body intangible at the last second. She held out her palm and blasted the knight with spikes and powdered obsidian, penetrating through its head and killing it.

She picked herself up, the sword simply staying put as Val phased through it. Val turned back to the caravan to see if they were fine, turning herself back to her tangible state again.

Minfilia was definitely surprised at Valeris's power to become intangible as she did, however Minfilia paid no mind to it as Yun was already on his way again along with path,. The group was forced to take a stop or two to make small repairs to the caravan but luckily nothing inside the caravan was damaged. The group was slowly making their way down the path leading to the village when all of a sudden they heard a strange crashing noise.

Minfilia turned around to notice a large body heartless rolling down the hill at an extreme speed, Minfilia had little time to react and out of desperation grew thorns in front of its path, it did not die but caused it stop moving, it stood up and seemed to be throwing a tantrum of sorts it suddenly began charging Minfilia, she had no time to move and got hit, getting thrown into the side of the rocks almost losing consciousness.

Despite the lingering pain on her back, Val continued on without showing any form of discomfort. But it was good to know that the caravan remained safe. The girl still had some fight left in her, and as they neared their destination, her eyes fell on the mage girl. It was interesting how she could make plants grow at will, sort of like how she herself could make obsidian materialize out of thin air.

A loud noise made her redraw her sword and focus on a big heartless with a spherical body. That was new. Her mage partner entangled the enemy, but it only seemed to make it more angry and sent the girl against the rocks. As the heartless raised its arms to strike down on her partner, Val quickly drew her bow and shot the heartless at the back of its head twice, creating her arrows as she pulled back the string.

With an angered growl, the heartless leaped and slid on its belly to ram into the nobody. Val however, had a counter to such a move. She simply formed a ramp of obsidian in front of her which made the heartless sailed in the sky and over the side of the mountain. The ramp dissolved after that. Val walked over to Minfilia, getting on one knee to assist her. "Are you alright?" she asked quietly.

Minfilia felt a little dizzy and her back ached a little but she would survive, she shakily stood up from the ground shaking off any debris from her clothing. "Yes, i'm alright thank you for the assistance." Minfilia was glad someone could watch her back in a situation like that, however at that moment the heartless they we're previously dealing with decided to make another appearance sliding down from the cliff it was recently knocked onto. "I've had enough of this thing..." Minfilia said rushing towards the creature, at that moment she jumped as close as she could and expelled a large burst of light around her causing the heartless to get slammed into the wall and dissipating into nothing. "Phew... shall we continue?" Yun nodded to the girl and they we're on their way again to the village just about to the entrance.

Upon arrival to the village Yun was greeted with smiled from the villagers, along with them thanking Minfilia and Valerie for their services towards Yun and the villages. Minfilia was glad to be of assistance to the village and would gladly come visit again soon. "It was a pleasure working with you Valerie, I hope we get the opportunity again soon. Was there anything you wanted to finish up before we depart?"

Despite the damage the girl sustained, she still had enough fight left in her to dispatch the large heartless. She was really powerful, that was for certain. With the caravan heading out, Val picked herself up and once again put her sword away. They were close enough to the next village that they wouldn't need to worry about another heartless attack, but she kept on guard just the same.

Finally they reached it. The caravan unloaded their wares, and Val sat on one of the boxes, watching as the others worked. Minfilia approached her and expressed her gratitude. Val bowed her head slightly to her, and said, "Thank you. It was nice working with you too." She thought for a moment to her question before shaking her head. "No, I'm good. Did you have anything else to take care of?"

"Not that I'm aware of. Again though, it has been a pleasure working with you and I bid you a fair day. Minfilia made a small bow and walked off wondering more and more about the women powers, they were quite strange along with the girl herself, Minfilia felt almost nothing coming from her no heart, no soul, like she was a walking corpse almost. Minfilia thought nothing of it however and continued on through the village and out the main gates wondering where her next adventure would take her.
