They say all monsters are human...

Yukina Tarka

...Who's the baddest witch in town?

| 28 | Human |
Yukina 4v3a1d
| Darkness |
| Water | Ice | Moon |

| Personality |

Yukina is a twisted, deranged individual. But she has learnt to hide it... for the most part. Oftentimes she seems like a rather 'normal' human woman, or at least tries to be, albeit with a dark sense of humour and a very apparent narcissism. That being said, even to the most gullible or trusting individual, there is something undoubtedly 'off' about Yukina. Like everything she does is an act, a part of some greater performance that is her life.

However, sometimes her carefully manufactured disposition falters. In times of high stress or tension, Yukina often can explode into a creature of chaos, one ruled by her emotion. When this happens she is almost completely unpredictable.

| History |

She wasn't always like this.

A young girl, Yukina's parents always had greater hopes for her than she for herself. They pushed her, constantly testing her limits and trying to get what they thought would be the best out of her. She resisted, of course. It was in her nature to do so. She didn't like being told what to do, not then, not now. She was born on Destiny Islands but her parents were travellers, a couple of the few and far between that knew about the other worlds and how to travel between them. Warriors, the pair of them, they imagined in their heads that once their daughter was born they might settle down and live peacefully... but it wasn't in them. At the time Yukina believed it an unforgivable cruelty what they did next, but now she could care less. She'd probably do the same, if she were them, and stuck with a child they didn't want in a situation they didn't care for.

Twelve years old and they were done. They left her with a trusted friend near Olympus Coliseum, who assured them he would continue her training and make sure she would become the best she could be.

A promise he kept, truth be told.

She wasn't much in the way of swordplay, in fact to begin with she was almost pitifully weak. But magic... her mentor had never seen such a thing. Such a natural aptitude for everything magical, the girl was a prodigy. The only problem? He was not. He wasn't equipped to be her mentor in magic, and she knew it.

As much as she had resisted them in her youth, since their departure Yukina's parents aspirations for her had rubbed off. She was quickly forming into a headstrong, confident young woman... but still nothing like the one she was today. Until...

The day that sparked a change. A strange man arrived at the Coliseum, a man shrouded in darkness. He entered the arena as they trained, her mentor trying to once again teach Yukina the basics of swordplay. She couldn't get it, and was getting frustrated. She remembered yelling at him that this wasn't for her, that there was so much more she could do.

Show him, the voice, his voice, told her.

So she did. A flurry of water, ice appeared as if from nowhere. And then... something else. Something dark, strangely powerful and completely intoxicating. She couldn't stop, it was as if something had come over and taken control of her.

Kill, kill, kill, it told her.

A darkness had awoken inside her.

And there was no turning back.

She left the Coliseum that night, after a brief conversation with that strange man she was gone. There was nothing left for her there anymore. She wasn't sure if her mentor had survived or not and oddly, she realised, she didn't care. She spent the next few years of her life travelling the worlds, some a part of this universe and some another entirely, honing her magical abilities and transcending any expectation ever placed upon her.

Witch, demon, evil! They called her.

And they were right.
