Se détendre [Inv]

Comen always loved the smell of baked bread. It was the thing he looked forward to most when he walked through the city square. Sure, the people that walked up to greet the Count has been a more ego stroking satisfaction to him, but the smells of the bakery carried a reminder of his childhood with it. A simpler time before he took the family name, however the bodyguards clad in chest and leg chain armor that stood with him brought him back to reality.
Him and his entourage approached a sidewalk cafe and the Count took a seat at one of the tables. Comen then waved off his bodyguards, of whom nodded and stood on opposite corners of the block.
The Count relaxed, letting himself settle in the meshed metal chair. A scone and tea for lunch, that sounded satisfying enough. As he waited for the waiter to approach his table, he mulled about what he had planned for the rest of the day. Perhaps he would meet with more locals, on a more personal level of course. His name was already likely heard by anyone who’s stayed a significant amount of time.
He let his posture slack, intent on making him seem a little more approachable. It wasn’t something he did often, the bodyguards that escorted him even cast wary glances toward him from across the block, but he knew it was something he should do from time to time should he want to become more interpersonal with the populace.
Besides, what was the worst that could happen?

It was just another adventure to a world they’ve never been to before. Of course, before going off, they received the customary “be safe”, “watch out for each other”, and “don’t try to stand out too much”. They knew their mother meant well, but after a time, it just became a redundant send-off spiel. But she always made sure to say it, regardless of how much they were itching to leave. Well, one more so than the other.
Destinie loved exploring new worlds, diving and immersing herself in the into the culture. She got so excitable. It was to be expected, though. Or so her brother told himself. Fayt wasn’t nearly as excitable, but he too enjoyed where their little outings brought them. This time, it was a world with a large Cathedral in the middle of a sprawling city. The architecture and the manner in which the residents dress didn’t appear as advanced as, say, Radiant Garden, but the world had a quaint feel to it.
Casually strolling the streets, Destinie was all smiles. With her hands laced behind her head, she sort of stuck out as the only woman not wearing a dress. But it was whatever. Dresses made any off-chance fighting difficult. So she wore a skirt that was slit up the side, and was far more easier to walk about in. Her brother was so… consistent in what he wore. That academic styled attire didn’t ever seem to change.
After a while of taking in the sights, the wonderful scent of baked goods filled the air around them. Taking in a deep breath, Destinie giggled. “Mmmm... You smell that, Fayt?” The young lady asked as she exhaled.
Fayt gave a small nod of his head and lazily gestured to their left. “There’s a bakery right there. Want to take a break?”
“Oh yeah.” She said with a grin and took off to wander up to the shop. “Oh boy… You think they got cinnamon buns here?” Destinie’s red and blue eyes would turn to her brother, who shrugged in response.
“Only one way to find out.” He'd say and the two would enter the shop.

Hoshi shuffled down the cobbled streets of this new and strange world. It was the first time she had gone to a world on her own, without some sort of assistance from her dad or Uncle. She tried to look as confident as she could, but she was failing miserably. Her hands were clasped in front of her torso, fidgeting constantly. She went from looking down at her feet to quickly looking around her. It didn't help that she felt as though she was majorly out of place, appearance-wise. People here seemed to dress classy, while she wore a grey sweater, a denim short skirt with black leggings, and black and white sneakers.
The warm and enticing scent was carried by the breeze that Hoshi picked up. It smelled of delicious, freshly baked bread. Her stomach growled. She had eaten before the trip here, though that was a mistake as she had been so nerv-er, excited for the trip that she vomited on the way. She soon found her way to the source of the smell, a bakery.
When she entered, she saw the familiar figures of Destinie and her brother, Fayt. "Hey!" she shouted suddenly, her voice squeaking with a smile that was too big, before she could help herself. She winced and attempted to recover.
"I mean, uh, hey guys, weird meeting you here," she said, quieter this time and her voice abnormally low. "It's not like you mother told my father who in turn told me and I went here specifically to meet up with you guys or...." She coughed, abruptly cutting herself off.
"I mean, uh, yeah, what a crazy coincidence," Hoshi said, swallowing as she went to lean on a nearby cafe table nonchalantly. However, her sudden weight on the edge caused the table to tip, Hoshi falling to the floor in a tumble, and as if to add insult to injury, the two cups of hot coffee catapulted from the table towards a middle aged man sitting nearby, who had been waiting to order.

Taking out a pocket watch, Comen tsked. The waiter was taking an unusually long time getting to him, especially for someone in his position in society. He thought about going into the bakery and letting them know he was here, but he quickly discarded that thought. He was here to relax, to be more open to the public. Barging in to pester working men and women wouldn’t help him at all. Besides, they were probably busy preparing for the upcoming Festival of Fools. He’ll just have to be patient.
A gathering of a few young women and man, all of whom looked just around his daughter’s age. They didn’t look to familiar, but then again, it was a larger city. Still, though, of all the times he’s been around here he’s never seen anyone like them. He shrugged before relaxing again. They didn’t seem to be causing any trouble.
Just as that thought ran through his head, the sight of a coffee cup hurling toward him caught his eye. He tried to react, but the mug hit him square in the chest, the scalding liquid spread over and through his white clothes.
“Merde! My shirt!”
He rocketed off his chair, taking out a handkerchief furiously rubbing away at the stain as his bodyguards rushed back to him.
“Lord Allard! Is everything well?” The first one, a brunette male, said.
The second one, a black haired female, spoke next, “Are you alright? Who did this to you?” She turned toward the group of kids, drawing out her blade, “You three! I’ve never seen you around this city. What are you doing here?!”
Comen stepped forward, pocketing his handkerchief while he raised his hand.
“Put that away, Claire!” he scolded, “There is no need to draw your weapon on a group of children!”
She obliged, still keeping a narrow eye on the group, “Yes, my Lord. Please accept my apology.”
“Of course, of course,” he said, “now then,” he walked over to the group of kids, “I certainly hope we don’t have any further trouble, so how about we all take a seat here and wait for the waiter to arrive?”
He motioned toward a large circular table, taking a seat himself, “It will be Claire’s treat.”

When a voice called out to Destinie, both sets of eyes turned to look at the young woman that approached them. Destinie, of course, was far more familiar with Hoshi, and so smiled brightly. Fayt gave a polite bow of his head, not having spent as much time with Hoshi as his sister. Walking up to her, Destinie giggled at the little squeak in the young lady’s voice. “Hey there,” Destinie said in a smooth tone, grinning wide. It grew further as it appeared that Hoshi went out of her way to come explore with them. “Yeah, suuure.”
Paying for their goods, Fayt then came to stand at his sister’s side. “You’re always welcome to join us whenever, Hoshiko. Don’t think that you need an excuse to-” Fayt began, only to see cups coffee go flying. His eyes followed them, as they landed promptly on an older gentleman some feet off.
Helping Hoshi to her feet, Destinie soon looked over when she heard the man cry out. “Yikes…" was her simple response upon seeing the coffee stain on his shirt. Though hearing that the man was some sort of lord of the world, both twins had went into a more professional standpoint. They weren’t positive, but it was likely that the man, or his family had had deals with the Darksons at one point or another. And it would only be polite to continue that good impression.
“Pardon us, miss. It was an accident,” Fayt said, quick in attempting to diffuse the female guard’s fury, standing protectively in front of Destinie and Hoshi. “No, we aren’t from around here, but we’ve come simply to sate our curiosity as young adults.” He explained. Simply put, they were tourists. Fayt’s bicolored eyes turned to the older gentleman as he reprimanded his guard. Fayt was glad to see that he wasn’t as quick to anger as his company. When Claire gave her apologies, Fayt gave a small, formal bow, his hand at his chest, and urged his sister to do the same. So she followed suit and lightly curtsied, though she was detesting it inwardly.
Looping Hoshi’s arm in her own, Destinie nodded to this Lord Allard, a soft smile on her lips. “I’m sure after we have a seat, there won’t be any more tables to flip. Right Hoshi?” She turned to the woman and gave her a teasing smile, nudging her side a little as she began to drag the young woman over to the suggested table.
A sigh passed Fayt’s lips upon hearing his sister’s comment, and he turned his gaze over to Comen. “Thank you, Sir. Your generosity is most appreciated.” He’d say before going to the table himself and taking a seat.

"Sweet Zeus, I am so sorry," Hoshi said, her eyes wide with horror when the coffee landed on the older fellow. She went forward to help him but a bunch of guards suddenly rushed in, with one of them pointing a sword at her and the twins. Hoshi gulped. But, before she knew it, Hoshi found herself sitting down at a table with the older man and the twins.
When Destinie accepted the offer to sit and mentioned no more table flipping, Hoshi nodded her head furiously in agreement. "I'm really sorry, um, sir," Hoshi exclaimed a bit too loudly, words clumsily falling out of her mouth. "My, uh, my name is Hoshiko Velox, by the way, but most people just call me Hoshi."
Hoshi opened her mouth to say something else but she couldn't think of what and she figured it was probably better to just keep it shut, considering what had transpired in the short amount of time that she had been there.
When Destinie accepted the offer to sit and mentioned no more table flipping, Hoshi nodded her head furiously in agreement. "I'm really sorry, um, sir," Hoshi exclaimed a bit too loudly, words clumsily falling out of her mouth. "My, uh, my name is Hoshiko Velox, by the way, but most people just call me Hoshi."
