DARK SIDE OF THE MOON

Yosei derives her abilities from the powers of Darkness and the Moon. The most prominent of her gifts is her sway over others: she radiates such charisma and allure that it is difficult for others not to trust her. In addition, it is comforting to be in her presence: those in close proximity to her feel at home and at ease.

Tier One
EMPATHY
Enables the user to innately feel the emotions of those around her. This is done by “tasting” the air around the person, as if the emotions exude off of their body.

DENIAL
Makes the user aware of any illusion, whether it attempts to affect with her senses, mind, or her heart. However, this does not make the user immune to any of its effects; rather, it gives her the opportunity to counteract or break free from them.

MUTABILITY
Allows the user to change her shape, size, form, etc. as she pleases. The transformation completes in a matter of seconds, usually accompanied by a dark mist surrounding her body. Her clothes and her voice can be altered as well. This skill does not affect her stats in any way.

SILVER TONGUE
Everything the user says seems to have an air of truth about it, making her difficult to argue with. This effect has such a strength that others begin to doubt their own, contrasting beliefs.

UNREADABLE
It is near impossible to get a read on what the user is thinking or feeling; only those who are extremely perceptive or know the user very well are able to divine true insight on her inner psyche.

Tier Two
HEARTSTRINGS
A child skill of EMPATHY. Enables the user to slightly manipulate the emotions of those in near proximity. This includes inhibiting certain emotions while increasing others. Once a target distances themselves from the user, however, the effect fades.

MOTHER DEAR
Activates when the user issues a command. Those whom the order is directed at feel the need to please her; this ability does not force compliance upon the target. Rather, they get flooded with the sentiment the user is significant to them, and wish to do their best for her.

LULLABY
Activates when the user blows a kiss towards a target. While this seemingly has no effect, the target will increasingly grow drowsier as time passes, which should be reflected in their movement speed and reaction times. The duration of this ability is equivalent to 6 minus the user’s Character Tier. It should be noted that no matter how tired the target becomes, they should not actually fall asleep so long as they fight the effects.

NIGHTMARE
To be used in conjunction with LULLABY. While the target’s mind is in a drowsy state, this skill can be used to induce great terror within them. This causes the affected to become paranoid and frightened of even the slightest detail. This ability remains in effect so long as the opponent’s mind is drowsy.

Tier Three
BLOODWRATH
A child skill of HEARTSTRINGS. Overwhelms a target, either the user or otherwise, with an uncontrollable rage. This significantly increases the target’s Strength and Endurance stats while simultaneously decreasing their Magical Prowess and Agility stats. Although this ability does not render the affected completely senseless, it becomes difficult for them to think critically or differentiate enemies from allies. Despite its parent, BLOODWRATH’s effect remains even if the target is away from the user. The duration of this skill is equivalent to the user’s Character Tier.

DESPAIR
A child skill of HEARTSTRINGS. Overwhelms a target with an immense sense of powerlessness. This begins with a tiny seed of doubt, which exponentially grows as time passes. Additionally, as the target’s despair increases, each of their stats begin to decrease: they become more powerless the more they believe they are. Despite its parent, DESPAIR’s effect remains even if the target is away from the user. The duration of this skill is equivalent to the user’s Character Tier.

NIGHT TERRORS
A child skill of NIGHTMARE. The target’s fear becomes so great that his emotional and mental turmoil begin to inflict damage on their physical body. The damage dealt is directly proportional to the target’s level of terror. If this skill is used, the pain it causes immediately interrupts the effects of LULLABY.

Tier Four
MOONSTRUCK
Activated when the user flicks a finger towards a target’s forehead, although actual contact is unnecessary. This induces the target with moderate insanity, rendering them unable to control their thoughts or emotions for a period of time. The duration of this ability is equivalent to 6 minus the user’s Character Tier.

INSIDE VOICE
A child skill of SILVER TONGUE and MOTHER DEAR. Allows the user to speak directly into target’s head. While this ability is not mind control and can be resisted through great will, it is extremely compelling. The duration of this skill is equivalent to 6 minus the user’s Character Tier.

Tier Five
PURE IMAGINATION
Places a target in a euphoric state, where they hallucinate their perfect dream. The only way to escape control of this ability is to kill themselves while inside the dream, in which case they will feel the pain of dying as if it were actually happening. It should be noted that their physical body is protected by this spell: the target is encased in a cocoon of darkness while this ability is in effect. This cocoon cannot be moved or broken until the skill ends. The duration of this ability is 3 posts.
