Mohon Empty Mohon

Post by Tago Tue Dec 30, 2014 8:59 pm

Name: Mohon
Age: 15
Personality: He’s a cheerful, friendly and carefree individual that spends most of his days in a good mood, more often than not showing a sharky grin on his face. His positive attitude allows him to see the bright side of any situation, but at times this can make him dangerously optimistic, which can lead to some bad decisions if he’s not careful. Generally a good person, he’ll offer his help if he sees anyone in trouble, but he won’t seek to become a hero or anything of the sort. If he can, he’ll remain uninvolved from any mayor events, as long as they don’t threaten him or anything he cares about.

Appearance: Mohon is a young man with short, brown hair, green eyes and a below-average height for a teenager (without the hope of growing much more because of his genes). Usually wears a purple shirt, hooded cape, pants and boots, all of them suitable for traveling but also not out of place in urban environments. And because of his nature, he possesses several animal traits: fur of the same color as his hair at the side of his arms, legs and at the base of his neck, a long feline tail and a pair of big cat ears above his head (which are usually hidden under a hood when in public).

Primary Elements
1.) Light
2.) Electricity
3.) Plant
4.) Illusions

History:
He was born in a small world, populated only by a few villages across a landscape of forests and mountains. The people of that world worshipped nature, and each village had one big shrine where people went to make their offerings and pray. Though most of the inhabitants were humans, spiritual beings, half-men and half-animal, existed in that world, secretly working at the shrines while disguised as a creature of nature. Mohon’s family was a clan of cat spirits, tasked with watching over their town’s shrine. They got along with humans while on their human forms, and they got along with other spirits while on their animal forms. Because of the nature of their job, Mohon was taught from an early age how to use a sword, how to move his body adequately and how to control his powers in case they were ever needed. It was a peaceful world, without much need for violence, but despite knowing this, and not being too keen of physical training, Mohon still tried his best to become a good shrine guardian.
However, one day, a cataclysm struck that world. It wasn’t something caused by an external force or ill will: rather, it was only a big earthquake, an event of nature itself, that in the span of a few minutes brought death and destruction to everything that touched the ground. The earth shattered, mountains crumbled, and towns ceased to be.

Mohon lost consciousness during the event, and when he opened his eyes, he found himself in the world of Traverse Town. Asking around, he found out that it was a world where people that had nowhere else to go arrived. He didn’t know what exactly had happened to his world, but as he had been brought to Traverse Town, he assumed that it had ceased to exist, or that life was no longer possible for people in that place. He searched all around town, hoping to find at least 1 survivor from his home, but his efforts were fruitless, and he was left alone on a foreign land.

As a lost, confused and angry child, one who felt betrayed by the very same Nature that his family had protected for generations, the cat boy began a life as a petty thief on the streets of Traverse Town. During the day he walked around town, pickpocketing people that looked distracted and stealing from stores whenever no one was looking. During the night he mostly remained in cat form, which was safer than just roaming the streets as a teenage boy, but from time to time he also picked fights with other thugs, either when they tried to take things away from him or when he tried to take things away from them. Some days were hard, others, he got hurt, but for more than a year he managed to survive while leading that sort of lifestyle. If the world that he loved had decided to take everything away from him, then he would simply stop caring about the world and do with it as he pleased. That’s how he thought at the time.

One night, he was heavily injured in a confrontation with other thugs that had decided it was time to take him down. Though he survived, his wounds were deep, and if he didn’t treat them, he would surely die. Leaving his pride behind, he went around town asking anyone that could treat him to help, but they all closed their doors on him because of how poorly he had treated them in the past.

On the verge of collapsing, the cat boy reached the Garden on the 5th District, and passed out under a tree. Under normal circumstances, he would have bled out, but surprisingly, he was still able to wake up the next morning. Small plants had grown all around him, covering his body but specially his wounds. He didn’t understand much about plants, but at the very least he was able to deduce that those plants had healing properties that had helped close his wound; a miracle that had saved his life.

Once he finally felt well enough to stand up, the boy walked all around town thinking about his experience. Because of his hate of the world, he had rejected people that could have potentially become important to him. But when his own actions brought him to death’s door, it was the world, nature itself, what saved him in the end. Nature isn’t good or bad, but as long as you’re alive, it’ll accept you. It took him too long to finally understand that.

After reaching this new understanding of things, he decided to change his outlook on the world, hoping that maybe, one day, he’d be able to understand the reason why he was the only to survive.
