Summer Tournament: Val Noria vs Xadik

“If the participants would please pick heads or tails, kupo!~” the fluttering moogle would say, flipping a small coin into the air.

Val looked at her opponent and thought about which one she'd choose. She didn't prefer a side, nor thought which mattered, being first or being last. "...

"I'll take what he doesn't."

Xadik turned to his companions and asked them what they figured would be best, and turned back around.
"Well as unfair as it is to force me to pick even though I was late, my companions said I should go with Tails."
He looked around the area to get a sense of their field kg combat. Not much of a forest, most of the cover came from scattered buildings and thin trees. While a good terrain for shooting targets, with nowhere to hide all his attacks would be easily seen before he fired them.

Xadik drew his bow and jumped backwards, firing an arrow immediately towards his opponent. Before loading a second arrow, he put his fingers to his lips and gave out a loud whistle that sounded almost like the howl of a wolf. The whistle was promptly followed by the howl of a wolf as his spirit wolf appeared by his side.
He loaded a second arrow and fired it as well, the wolf charging towards the target and swiping at her with its claws.
At the same time, Kai placed his hands over his heart and pulled out a buster style sword that appeared to be both crackling with electricity and on fire before charging towards her and swinging it. After his swing he jumped backwards as well, in order to try and avoid a counter attack.
As Kai charged, his sister was firing an arrow from her own bow, as well as activating frozen six-shooter. The six ice bullets formed around her wrist as she loaded a second arrow in her bow, and right after firing that arrow she fired one of the bullets as well.

Val blinked at the string of attacks fired upon her. Everything just passed her like she was air. As the trio and their dog furiously tried to do damage, the intangible maiden took the time to summon a spherical object made of obsidian and made it revolve around her protectively. Once the final shot was fired, she opened a portal behind her and hopped back, then immediately closed it. She was now behind the trio at more or less a fair distance, shutting off her intangibility and forming five arrows around her, one of which she picked out of the air and used it to fire on the male archer. She was quick about it, letting instincts take control. A sweet tune filled the air amongst the sounds of rain.

Another arrow flew towards the female archer, and another tune sounded. Lyra was a melodic weapon, and it was satisfying using it.

Sight Unseen -- Val becomes intangible for up to 4 posts, unable to directly harm or be harmed, but can still move and feel the emptiness (or lack of) around her. Whenever she is blinded by a skill, ability, or effect, this skill automatically activates. CD: Number of posts intangible + 1 (CD 2 posts)

Sentinel -- Once per post, Val can summon a volleyball-sized sphere of obsidian that initially orbits around her. These spheres are initially used for defense, but can be commanded to either ram into nearby targets, or to fly off to a far target, and violently shatter on the first thing they hit, initially doing moderate damage on impact, and slight-moderate splash damage to nearby enemies. Only five can be active at a time, but the limit increases by two every time her Character Tier is upgraded.

Void Portal -- Val can summon a pair of portals that will open up anywhere on the field. She has to be able to see the destinations to summon a portal there. These portals remain open for two posts, or can be collapsed early. Number of paired portals that can be active at any one time is equal to the user's character tier.

Glass Arrow Barrage -- Val creates five obsidian arrows (number multiplied by Character Tier), each individually firing off like bullets at her command, shattering shortly after impact and dealing moderate damage. Alternatively, these arrows can be used as ammunition for bows as well, adding to the bow's damage. These arrows can be held indefinitely, or dismissed. CD: 3 posts after the last arrow is used or dismissed.
