Pimp My Secret Forest Base (Open)
The overhaul to the old base that once housed the Union of Blades was finally underway. He hadn't parked the entire fleet of Deep Space over Deep Jungle, and instead one-to-two ships had been sent out, packed to the brim with necessary materials for their first run. Deep Space itself still sat armed and waiting, hidden within the sea of skies, as it was wont to do. It wasn't exactly that Hayden was trying to be secretive... okay, maybe he was. Maybe he had wondered about the mystique of a hidden jungle base. He felt like a super villain.
Felt like? More like is. But that was neither here nor there.
The renovations were only a few days along. He stood in his red coat with his arms crossed, dark skin framing a youthful face with white hair frizzing out only slightly from the humidity. It was embarrassing, but not really noticeable. What was noticeable, however, was the smoke from a burning pile of rotten bodies Hayden had his men pull from the depths of the underground fortress. The putrid smell attracted some bugs and scavengers, but the smoke drove most of them away. It seemed that even animals didn't like their lunch burned.
It was during this process of "housekeeping" as he had so lovingly adorned it that the actual condition of the base came to light: it was fine. Mostly. Some patches of rust here or there. Some animals inside. Moldy fabrics in beds. All things that were easily fixable and replaceable. And... upgradable. After all, what good was controlling a giant fleet of Space Ships if you didn't build something using the ones you didn't need? Hayden was currently living in excess. While the concept of stripping the ships down was fun though, he laughed it off with a chuckle.
He still wanted to study the ships. How could he understand them enough to mount giant energy canons on them otherwise? It was a terribly impractical idea with a terribly impractical weapon that used a terribly impractical amount of energy. But it was fun to think about. And with the schematics of the ships now in his possession due to the datastores he had access to, studying wasn't just limited to dismantling them.
A pair of soldiers in biohazard suits carried out another rotten corpse and threw it in the pile, one of them retching in disgust. Hayden inhaled deeply as the flesh began to crackle in the flame nearby, the smell of rotting meat and burning hair flooding his nostrils. He retched too, covering his mouth. "It smells like the Agrabah market district in summertime." He gagged lightly again. "Or Traverse Town's more seedy spaces all of the time. Gross. Grosssss."
