Dirge of Sorrow, Hymn of Hope [Holly, Private] Empty Dirge of Sorrow, Hymn of Hope [Holly, Private]

Post by Tsumiko Sat Oct 22, 2016 2:12 am

There was a lot to be done. A lot to be done. At the request of both her children and her close friend and subordinate Lunaria, the songstress had made an appearance in Twilight Town. Just as it had happened nearly twenty years ago, the world had been ravished by heartless. Thankfully, there wasn’t a less than intelligent mayor to nearly drown the place this time around. The only damaged sustained was purely heartless destructiveness. And boy was there a lot.

Stepping into the destruction, Tsumiko looked around with a weight upon her heart. This world just couldn’t catch a break, could it? Walking down just the first street, there were bodies littered about many smothered underneath the rubble and debris of demolished buildings and other such structures. Unfortunately, nearly none of them could be saved. Her task in coming to the world was to ensure that those that did survive the mayhem lived to tell the tale. Of course, she’d have to make this as quick as possible. There was others on other worlds that would be needing her attention.

Treading carefully over the rubble, Tsumiko hummed a healing song and drew the attention and consciousness of those that managed to survive the chaos. So far, there weren’t any to be taken note of. A depressing thought, but not one that would discourage her. She’d keep trying.

Dirge of Sorrow, Hymn of Hope [Holly, Private] Empty Re: Dirge of Sorrow, Hymn of Hope [Holly, Private]

Post by Holly Hallow Sat Oct 22, 2016 6:58 pm

A small flower had been held delicately by the stem, between two of her fingers. Holly had walked down the ruined streets of Twilight Town with a camellia flower to symbolize, no to commemorate the deaths of hundreds and mayhaps thousands? There was a cruel smile spread across her lips as the dead littered the streets their corpses pinned beneath buildings and their blood pooling up as sustenance for the scavengers. While it hurt her pride in not being able to admit that was all her doing, she couldn't be angry at the "Thing" that caused all the death and destruction in the first place. Truly, it was a work of art.

While Holly walked the massive burial ground that was the ruined town landscape she had summoned her dark powers to begin infesting the bodies. Every step she took the ground, walls, flowers anything with life began to mold and decay with the exception of the new minions she began to add to her army. The Undead. Quite literally, the woman couldn't take their hearts for they were already stolen. However, what of their bodies? The ones that hadn't been too mangled or properly buried would raise once more as hollowed out husks of who they used to be. Fueled with darkness and unyielding loyalty to their mistress.

A bitter fog fueled with a chilling wind started to creep into the streets. The woman who had been asked to come about? She had become a target without even realizing it. Opposites attract one another and that is the most truest of statements, when one puts together the concepts of light and dark. The major poles of the universe had a constant tug-of-war and every day it seemed like the dark pulled the rope further away from the grasp of light.

Small pieces of ice had started to gather beneath her feet with each step taken. Holly's smile only widened as she homed in on that source of light. A beacon just telling Seeker of Sorrow that it wished to be snuffed out. Her tongue ran along her lips at the thought and soon they met head-to-head.

Yellow eyes that burned with power and lusted for more, she gazed upon the songstress' form. "Ah, yes, the idol. I remember you from when I was growing up." She would be the one to speak first as the anticipation to turn her into a heartless greatly aroused her. "Doing your civil duty and coming to aid the people of Twilight Town? I figured as much, which is why I came..."

Whether or not the woman knew what the necromancer was talking about didn't matter. What did matter was the fact Tsumiko was a prime target for Holly. From what was said across the worlds the woman had a big heart and a lot to give. Maybe she could give the Heartless army exactly what they needed, the tool necessary to bring out the end of everything. Everyone.

Accompanying Holly would be victims of the recent attack. Even those Tsumiko had passed by began to stumble and move about, making noise, hissing in empty tones, and beginning to surround the woman. Women, men, children, any and all were used as corpse puppets by the Heartless.

"...So I can devour your Heart and add you to my collection!" Holly declared making her intentions clear from the get go.

Dirge of Sorrow, Hymn of Hope [Holly, Private] Empty Re: Dirge of Sorrow, Hymn of Hope [Holly, Private]

A voice rang through the mostly ruined streets. It alluded to flattery. It was spoken with familiarity. It sent shivers down her spine with naught more than the tone, and yet, Tsumiko couldn’t help but find a sort of familiarity about it. The seductive allure of the dark. The air even reeked of it, and in a much different sense than just the average heartless. Turning to face this figure, the songstress looked upon her being.

When she had, it wasn’t just the woman she had seen, but the many reanimated bodies of the deceased, some of which she even recognized from her earlier surveillance of the town. They were closing in in every direction. The songstress’ silver-blue eyes scanned the immediate area, across the many undead headed her way, before shooting back over to the woman. What she wanted had Tsumiko’s eyes widening, and very heart that she wanted fluttering in her chest. Why and for what purpose, the songstress couldn’t tell. She did know, however, that that was something that she would not allow.

“I’m sorry to disappoint, but I’m afraid that my heart is not something that I’ll easily part with.” Tsumiko stated in a calm and cool tone. Though the undead puppets continued to surround her, her eyes remained fixed on the woman. She couldn’t and wouldn’t be taken lightly. Whoever she was, Tsumiko was ready.

It came as a soft breeze, which swiftly grew to a gale that swirled around the songstress. Her long locks whipped about in the wind, being thrown up in the air as the vortex grew. She had to remind herself that these beings were already dead. What she did to them would cause them no more harm. With that in mind, the vortex increased in size, sweeping up all the bodies that came into contact with and tossing them however far away. It even attempted to take the shadowy woman away as well. Of course, if this woman was half as dangerous as Tsumiko was assuming, then this would have been cakewalk for her.

Dirge of Sorrow, Hymn of Hope [Holly, Private] Empty Re: Dirge of Sorrow, Hymn of Hope [Holly, Private]

Post by Holly Hallow Sun Nov 06, 2016 12:14 am

Holly couldn't help the laughter which escaped from her after she heard Tsumiko's response. "Good. You're the type who scream as they're being broken piece by piece!" She exclaimed. From there, it appeared as though the songstress wanted to make the first move.

Wind whipped and gathered before it changed from a torrent, to a zephyr and eventually into a full on vortex. The bodies were easily picked up and tossed into the air. Holly wanted to see the constitution of her opponent and to test this she caused the possessed bodies of the children to cry out. All once they kicked and screamed inquiring as to why she tossed them around so aggressively. Each of the available bodies in the twister had stated their discomfort but then all at once, they had started to vomit their innards towards the songstress. Muffled cries and coughs followed by the sounds of convulsing accompanied the sickening act, as they spewed out the liquid all over the place. The vortex of wind didn't help remedy this at all.

Holly on the other hand hadn't been affected whatsoever. Sure her hair had been taken out of its neat bun and her clothes whipped about, but there hadn't been any lasting harm on her. A confident smirk ran across her lips and with a bit of her own wind magic, gathered them into two of her fingers (index and middle specifically.). "I've only ever had one opponent be this potent in magic. Lets see if you're any different!" And with a downward swing of her hand, she brought about a slicing malestorm. One that had effortlessly cut the vortex in-half, dispersed its wind and energies (along with the people), then aimed to bisect Tsumiko right down the middle.

Dirge of Sorrow, Hymn of Hope [Holly, Private] Empty Re: Dirge of Sorrow, Hymn of Hope [Holly, Private]

She had been broken once before, and she’d be damned if she allowed it to happen again. Tsumiko had so much more to live for, and to fight for. However this woman was, she wasn’t going to receive the ending she desired so long as the songstress could help it.

Her expression hardened, and her stance shifted to a more response-ready one. Never once did her eyes leave hers, not even as the bodies were sent skyward. They cried out, and the voices of the fallen itched at her ears. They made her feel the guilt that she knew she shouldn’t have felt. They were already dead. From what she could tell, they were naught more than puppets. They felt only what the one pulling the strings wanted them to feel. Tsumiko ignored the pleas and inquiries, refusing to take her eyes off the woman who’s pungent scent was starting to become more clear. Darkness of a familiar sort. It was almost like a-

Her train of thought was interrupted by the sound and scent of vomit. She didn’t need to look away to know where it was aimed. Her muscles tensed and twitched as she was spattered with the vile liquid, a grimace on her face. It stuck to her long silver-blue locks as it whipped about, and dripped from her skin and clothing. Thankfully, being the mother of three had acquainted her with having throw-up on her being, as disgusting as it was.

With her opponent making her move, Tsumiko seen how Holly raised a hand and sensed the magic that gathered at her fingertips. It shallow compliment was given before the strike was made, and as she spoke, the songstress took in a deep breath. As the maelstrom came her way, she released that breath as a sonic boom that would not only halt the attack, but would continue on towards Holly. Gritting her teeth, she quickly made to follow-up the boom, pulling from the pouch at her thigh a compact hilt that, with a bit of magical influence, had expended to have a more prominent handguard. “Leave this place, heartless!” The blade materialized, watery in appearance though unmistakably solid, with a hooked tip. Rearing the now configured sword, Tsumiko spun to gain some decent momentum and aimed to slice at the woman.

Dirge of Sorrow, Hymn of Hope [Holly, Private] Empty Re: Dirge of Sorrow, Hymn of Hope [Holly, Private]

Post by Holly Hallow Mon Nov 21, 2016 3:05 pm

Holly grinned inwardly as she felt the darkness begin to spring in the woman's heart, it was still so prominent yet beaten down by whatever faux reassurances she gave herself. Tsumiko was going to make a delicious meal and an even greater Heartless. Her abilities spoke volumes by which she crafted a sonic boom to barrel forth and completely destroy her malestorm. The Heartless' response to this came in the form of her taking a firm stance and gathering a similar amount of wind and fought the songstress' sonic boom with one of her own.

As the two forces collided with one another, they created a resounding explosion that would have shattered the eardrums of any normal person and more than likely kill them. Should there have been any others around at the time, they'd surely fall to Holly's dark influences and its ability to passively coerce them into suicide while also giving up their hearts to darkness. One way or the other, the woman of darkness wasn't going to make this easy and saw her opportunity to provide more pressure.

Rather than move out the way of Tsumiko's slice to her body she instead let it happen. When that odd blade connected with her skin rather than it sliding through as possibly intended, it had instead traveled some distance through her body and stopped at solid mass. Only then did that "wound" explode with a cloud of darkness. Considering how close the silver-blue haired woman stood there was a low-chance she'd be prepared to dodge the cloud. Outside the body, the cloud made it hard to see where anything was and inhaling it brought about haphazard effects on the body. Mentally, Tsumiko would find that her inner, darker urges begin to grow further.

Unlike the songstress, Holly was able to operate within her own darkness and smacked the blade out of her body (and hopefully by extension, out of Tsumi's hands) and unleashed her series of strikes. There was no weaponry needed besides her own fists and legs, something Ophelia trained Holly in extensively and thus, each hit that impacted her opponent's body would have surely brought echoing pain throughout it.

"If you'll want me to leave, you'll have to do better than that!" Holly grinned as she continued to beat on the woman's body, before taking a strong, firm stance and delivering a double palm-strike to Tsumiko's chest and hopefully sending her flying.

Dirge of Sorrow, Hymn of Hope [Holly, Private] Empty Re: Dirge of Sorrow, Hymn of Hope [Holly, Private]

The fact that Holly didn’t move an inch with a sharp blade coming her way through the songstress for a loop. Her expression hardened, and she made the effort to pull away, but with her blade already lodged into the heartless’ body, she found that it wouldn’t budge. It was a hair too late, though, as a thick darkness seeped through the new wound as a cloud that enveloped her.

Try as she might, Tsumiko had breathed it in, and even if she hadn’t, the substance clung to her skin like some malicious soot. It clouded her thoughts with things that were hauntingly familiar, things that she had been attempting to repent for for many, many years. It had dark urges swelling within her that she did not like. Not only that, but it had harshly impaired her vision. And before the songstress had even gathered her bearings to locate her opponent, she was already being struck at. The blade knocked from her hand due to momentary confusion, Tsumiko used echolocation to track Holly’s movements.

The heartless woman managed to land a few clean hits with Tsumiko grunting in pain. She was debilitated quite a bit between the dark that surrounded her mind, the dark that surrounded her body, and the pain that wracked that body. Gritting her teeth, she got into a messy rhythm to counter what strikes she could, choosing to not respond to Holly’s cocky comment.

What effort she had placed into concentration proved fruitless, however, as a rather powerful strike to her chest had sent her flying back and landing some feet back outside the dark cloud. Sputtering, Tsumiko remained where she lay, fighting off both her dark thoughts and her pain.

Dirge of Sorrow, Hymn of Hope [Holly, Private] Empty Re: Dirge of Sorrow, Hymn of Hope [Holly, Private]

Post by Holly Hallow Tue Nov 22, 2016 2:13 am

When the final hit connect, Holly had walked her way out of the cloud of darkness, her heels clacked against the ground and echoed eerily throughout the alley. The undead who had finally landed, gathered around the area then on Holly's orders, observed the mature woman. There was a victorious smile on her lips. "Oh, that felt marvelous. Too bad you weren't exactly up to snuff, 'songstress.' Now then, as promised, I will proceed to break you in all the right ways and partake in your heart as I do so. Be good girl and make sure to scream."

There was a sadistic step in her tone as she laughed at the thoughts, oh the dark thoughts that traveled back and forth through her head. She advanced upon Tsumiko who was still likely reeling from that bout of strength. The Heartless approached and licked her lips oh so hungrily, knelt before the battered woman and placed a single hand against her breast. She groped it, molested the woman for a moment before her hand coated itself in darkness. From there, she started to reach out into Tsumiko's heart and tried to bring forth her darkness. All the while, used this to send painful pulses of electricity to burn and torture the songstress.

Dirge of Sorrow, Hymn of Hope [Holly, Private] Empty Re: Dirge of Sorrow, Hymn of Hope [Holly, Private]

Post by Tsumiko Fri Dec 02, 2016 10:35 pm

It was shortly before Holly had exposed herself from the misty darkness that Tsumiko had faded into an unconscious state. The words the the heartless woman had spoke were wasted, as she didn’t hear them. Her eyes had fluttered shut, though her heart beat wildly in her chest. It was as if she went from a pleasant dream to a nightmare from the change of expression. The songstress twitched a bit at Holly’s indecent touch. But that was all the farther she had gotten.

When the heartless had reached for Tsumiko’s heart, her body lashed out. A flash of light shone through the dark that Holly had conjured. That light formed a solid shape within the songstress’ hand, and as it dimmed, it had materialized as a weapon that she lodged deep into Holly’s shoulder. Now conscious and completely aware of her situation, a warcry passed Tsumiko’s lips as she forced her new Keyblade clean through the heartless’s shoulder. Though she was trembling due to knowing that she was so close to losing her heart, Tsumiko remained steadfast. It wasn’t nearly as potent as her earlier performance, but she took in a breath and let it out as boom to blow Holly off and away from her. Once that was done, Tsumiko stumbled to her feet and glared at Holly.

“I told you, didn’t I? I won’t part with it so easily.” Tsumiko stated in a tone that was uncharacteristically stern, tightening her grip on her Keyblade. Her mind was still reeling from what little she recalled of what just happened, but that would have to be put off until later.

Dirge of Sorrow, Hymn of Hope [Holly, Private] Empty Re: Dirge of Sorrow, Hymn of Hope [Holly, Private]

Post by Holly Hallow Fri Dec 02, 2016 11:30 pm

Holly softly relished in her victory over the woman and dwelt on the thoughts of how wonderful to make the former idol, into a seeker. Everything was going as planned, so perfectly timed and executed that she had let her guard down. It was at that she noticed a rejection of her own Darkness at the hands of something sinister. The act happened all that she hadn't the chance to properly evade or react. Her mistake had costed something dearly and that was the infernal weapon that lodged itself into her shoulder. Holly's eyes widened, her mouth left agape, but her astonishment was interrupted by a powerful gale.

Flung back, she landed with a harsh thud and had began to scream out in pain. She instinctively grabbed at the stump where her arm had once existed, only to see the limb dissipate into darkness. Pain that didn't feel good by any means had started to travel through the entirety of her body, which made her writhe in pain. Oh how her wails shook the very foundation. Irritation, anger, hatred rang through her mind.

"Fuck taking her heart! Kill her, kill her, kill her! ALL OF YOU KILL HER!" Her orders were barked and not a second later, shrill shrieks and hisses came from all around. The raised dead that the woman summoned had all began their swarm to their location. Within moments the battleground had become active with the dead, their intent to rip Tsumiko to shreds. Holly, during the chaos, picked herself off from the ground and formed a corridor of darkness. She had been defeated. A bitter taste entered her mouth as she gave Tsumi one last look. She'd be paid back in full for what she had done.

Her vengeance now set, she stumbled her way through the portal and exited the world.

Dirge of Sorrow, Hymn of Hope [Holly, Private] Empty Re: Dirge of Sorrow, Hymn of Hope [Holly, Private]

Post by Tsumiko Sun Dec 04, 2016 9:50 pm

The expression that Holly wore was more than enough for the songstress to know that she had done something right. It was satisfying, in a way, knowing that she now had the power to fight back; knowing that she was strong enough to continue resisting the temptation darkness presented her; knowing that she no longer had to fear herself.

The heartless woman’s cries rang in her ears. She wasn’t pleased in the least, it seemed, from how she reacted, demanding that her hoard kill her. Tsumiko, gazing confidently at Holly, remained steadfast and firm even as the undead advanced upon her. “I will save you from your hatred.” Tsumiko vowed in a hushed tone before turning her eyes away and beginning to slay the fast approaching bodies.

A swing to her left, and slash to her right, Tsumiko began to slay that which was already dead with little mercy. It took a long while, but eventually assistance arrived. Fayt and Destinie, who grew concerned when their mother didn’t show when expected, set out to find her, only to see her being assaulted. Together, the three had cleared out the hoard with minimal damage thanks to Tsumiko’s healing prowess.

Unfortunately, some of the bodies had become unrecognizable and wouldn’t be able to be identified for the families. Tsumiko stated that she would take full responsibility for the matter, and provide an explanation to them. Seemed like a short visit to the ever-unfortunate Twilight Town was going to take much longer than expected…
