Kyra Lightbringer (Character Sheet)

Name: Kyra Lightbringer

Age: 17

Personality: Whether she is genuinely happy or simply hiding behind her facial expression, Kyra is constantly smiling. In general, she is quite a cheerful person.  She considers herself a protector, a defender of good, so acting as a guardian for the innocent is the most important and noble goal she can think of. Therefore, she has little time or regard for her own feelings, instead choosing to focus on those of the people around her. Of course, that is not to say that she has no feelings. In fact, try as she might to hide it, Kyra can be a highly emotional wreck at times, especially when it comes to her own weakness. While she is nowhere close to being the strongest combatant out there, she certainly aspires to be. She despises her own weakness, though one with her personality could never admit to anyone how much growth she really needs. Rather than confide in anyone or face her weakness head-on, the young lightwielder prefers to mask her insecurities with humor and blatant overconfidence.
In spite of this, Kyra is a good person (or at the very least, she tries harder than most.) Above all else, she really does care about people. A healer and protector by nature, she can't stand to see people get hurt. She'll gladly put herself in harm's way if it means that others will be safe.  Helping is always her main goal. This, even more so than her hatred of weakness, can be a fatal flaw. The good-natured teen is just too trusting. In her heart she believes in people, in the good inside of them- and that can easily get her in trouble. She adamantly refuses to acknowledge that some people cannot be trusted. While she is generally suspicious of those wielding dark powers, she can be easily convinced that they are trying to reform.
Kyra will do anything to defend those whom she considers to be her friends. When it comes to this, no risk is too great.

Race: Human (Somebody)

Appearance: Kyra has long, shaggy blonde hair that is constantly falling over her eyes. Annoyed as she is by this, she makes no effort to tie it up, instead pushing it back behind her ears on a regular basis. Her eyes are a deep blue color, although they become gold when she uses magic, of when she is in a heightened state of emotion. Neither impressively tall nor unusually short, she stands at about 5'8. She has an athletic build due to her adventuring and swordplay. Generally, she can be found wearing an orange t-shirt and baggy shorts, unless of course she is wearing her armor. She despises dresses and skirts, however, as they restrict maneuverability and she finds them rather uncomfortable.

History: Kyra grew up in Radiant Gardens alongside her younger brother, Marcus. Marcus was a strong child, more mature than some twice his age. Unfortunately, he was very sick. Kyra and her parents tried everything to heal him, but no cure could be found. Her father, a great swordsman, set off in search of some kind of magic that could possibly offer a solution, but to no avail. He never returned. Their mother, unable to cope with the loss of her husband and the impending loss of their son, fled the household. Kyra was left to fend for herself and for her dying brother. He held on for a long time, much longer than expected. He was the center of Kyra's world. Everything she did, she did to help him. Despite her best efforts, however, he was eventually taken by the disease. Kyra was alone.
Suddenly there was nowhere to go, no one to protect. Except... looking around, there were people everywhere. Innocent people going about their daily lives. All of her life she'd seen strange, dark creatures that attacked towns like hers, slaying people like them. Her only goal then had been to defend her brother, but now it seemed she'd have to find a new goal. Her father had fought many such creatures on his journeys. She had a horrible vision of a world overrun by darkness. She wasn't going to let anyone get hurt like that. As long as she was alive, she'd keep finding people to protect. Marcus had always hated the dark...
