Deep Jungle was not a world that was particularly active with the forces of the outside world. From day to day, the creatures that lived here, did so in a quiet flow of harmonious, though admittedly primitive and brutal, way of life. Everything followed a circular pattern of living, dying, and laying a foundation for the next of their kind to continue the way things were. Little changed here. When things did, it was every animal that understood what, and why, and word travelled quickly. In a way, despite their conflicts of interest from time to time, they helped one another survive in their own little ways.

But today, there was a disturbance. The birds fluttered into the sky in a panic, screeching for a retreat. Baboons scurried across the treelines, panicked and unyielding in their movement. A clearing, where there had not been one before, had suddenly appeared. The inanimate cries of trees, tumbling down to the earth, echoed through the expanse, their bodies hitting the ground with a thunderous sound, shaking it for several miles. Every creature understood that something, whatever it was, had changed drastically here.
If only they could fathom the half of it...

And from the jungle...came the gradual, methodical slithering sound...of something approaching the edge of the thicket. Something enormous. Something...green.

Let all the mammals, avions, fish, and reptilians despair...for this new age, was the age of the flora. Vines, branches, leaves, moss--all of it twisted to the whims of this new monster...this strange beast. Not a dragon, but a shell of what once was, misshapen and malformed by exposure to something much, much worse. This...was the Elder Wrym.

Katsurou was simply walking through the Deep Jungle. His scythe was, as normal, slung over his shoulders, as if it were comfortable that way. To him, it was, but others may think otherwise, given that it's a long metal object that looks physically heavy and must be uncomfortable pressing against it.

Honestly, given that his weapon was, by nature, an oversized farming tool, even though Katsurou would never admit it, the weapon was quite useful thus far. In this Deep Jungle, one must make paths where none exist, and Katsurou, in his wandering, was more than willing to do that. And so, many of the plants were flying.

Suddenly, Katsurou heard something shift. Something was moving in the bushes. It was something enormous. It was something...

...Green, apparently? Wait, how could he tell that by so-

'Oooooooooooh,' Katsurou thought as his eyes made contact with the enormous, approaching creature. '...Fuck me. I come to this world to explore and I have to fight a giant... fucking... DRAGON THING.'

Katsurou wasted no time. There were others in the area, and so, he called out to them as he pushed the scythe off of his shoulder, getting ready to fight. He couldn't tell whether or not the wyrm was Heartless or not, and quite honestly, he was unwilling to find out. So, he focused a different energy from that of his darkness into the scythe. Instead, Katsurou created a blaze. Not any ordinary blaze... One that raged, and burned hotter than any he had used. One touch of this fire to a plant could cause a forest fire.

...Wouldn't that be cool? As long as Katsurou survived, he didn't care. He called out to the others in the area, trying to rally them.

"Everyone! We need to work together to kill this thing!"

Would his words reach them? He hoped so, at the least...

Post by Krysta Sat Jun 06, 2015 1:22 am

Meanwhile, Krysta Hyalus was tromping through the jungle, synthscanner on her wrist. The machine was beeping quietly in its usual manner, indicating that there was something in this world that could prove useful in her glorious quest. After running away from her home in Traverse Town to seek out materials for the world's greatest weapons, the teenager had convinced herself that she wouldn't go home until she'd found something worth returning back with.
She'd attempted to go to Radiant Garden for guidance, only to have lost her way several times in the process. Each time however, she managed to find something equally interesting, meeting new people and finding items that, while not particularly powerful, were still useful in her line of work. As a Synthy, (and the only human one to boot,) Krysta prided herself in her knowledge and skill, aiming to become the best in the worlds. Of course...she couldn't very well do that without an amazing weapon. She had her pistols, and her rifle, but that wasn't quite impressive enough to her tastes. No...the best Synthy in the worlds needed something absolutely mindblowing in order to make her mark.

And this is where she'd ended up. Krysta had never seen so many trees in her life. Sure, she'd been born in the Dwarf Woodlands which, to its namesake, had a lot of those...but these were ENORMOUS! They were taller than the clock tower back in Traverse Town, some ten stories so! There were so many bushes, vines, mosses, and slimy pools around this place, she wasn't entirely sure if where she was stepping next was solid ground or...not.
Then, there was the issue with her scanner. She'd be damned over and over if this thing hadn't found anything more than junk so far. What a pain! It wasn't entirely useless, but sometimes it'd pick up the blip of a lifeform, as she'd found out more than a few times. The Mooglette certainly couldn't use any of those for her work...

Humming to herself, Hyalus jumped over a few branches, casually making her way in whatever direction suited her fancy. Then, very suddenly, her synth-scanner made a shrieking, piercing set of wails, which went ringing off in every direction, echoing across the area. Startled by the immediate and unexpected response, Krysta nearly fell over in fright, and her eyes glued themselves to the screen. There was a MASSIVE energy reading, brimming to the very highest marks with some sort of natural power. Whatever it was...she REALLY wanted it.

Darting through the brush as fast as her legs could carry her, Krysta stumbled across the thick foliage until she came across the most foul odor she'd ever smelled in her life. She grimaced at the very introduction of it, wincing at its offensiveness.
"GEEZE, what a stink!" She bellowed, holding her fingers to her nose, a slight shade of green tinting to her face.
But that was far from the only color her visage would be seeing--soon after, she noticed where it was coming from--she was on the rear side of the monstrous, towering wrym...and she could tell that this wasn't the energy reading she'd hoped she'd gotten. The tween's face suddenly became very pale as she realized...that this monster was what had been giving off those massive signatures.
"Oh. Well then..."

It was at that moment, that in her absolute stillness, she noticed Katsu with his blazing scythe. Waving her arms wildly to get his attention, she hissed at him between her teeth.
"Hey! Are you CRAZY?" She whispered, as loud as she could, praying to the gods that she didn't catch the creature's focus with her noise. "That thing's huge! You don't know what it could do! Just...just back away...slowly!"

It was fairly obvious why he was being sent to a world such as this, Dominik could just tell by his surroundings there were far deeper mysteries to this world than one would assume. The striking similarities between this world and the wild forests that once housed the ancient fomorians were almost striking. Yet this kind of work didn’t appeal to the Jer, the humidity and just the sheer size of this area was far too unappealing for his tastes.

Just as he was trudging his way through, he heard several creatures flying above. Normally, such an event wouldn’t worry Dominik, but the fact they were all flying away from the direction he was headed and crying out some sort of warning. The illusionist knew he should take heed to this, but this did mean that something was happening.

What can I say,” the Jer muttered, “I’m a natural slave to my own curiosity.

He began making his way toward the direction where the birds were fleeing. After a few moments of aimlessly wandering straight forward, he heard someone call out. He couldn’t make out the words exactly, but he mention some “thing”, so it was promising in the very least. He quickened his pace, before he tripped over a thick root and was thrown through some foliage and into a small clearing. A few feet to his right, he could see some boy wielding a scythe covered in flame. Considering his surroundings, that really did not seem to be the brightest of ideas to Dominik. Regardless, he looked around for whatever this “thing” was. It didn’t take long before he laid eyes on a large green beast before him.

Dominik grimaced, he needed to identify this beast before anything else and prayed upon the glory of Verfluen that it wasn’t already aggravated. He backed away slowly, trying to make his movements as unthreatening as possible. As he shifted his way to the beast’s side, he was able to see a small purple haired girl waving erratically toward whom he assumed was the boy with the flaming scythe. It looked like she was saying something, but with her hushed voice and the angle he was in made it difficult for him to hear. Hopefully, she was talking sense into him and not just egging him on.

Regardless, the illusionist knew that there was not going to be an easy way out of this situation.

Post by Faye Sat Jun 06, 2015 6:37 pm

Trudging... Faye had been trudging through that damn jungle for hours, and she was not a happy camper. So far, it had been one of the worst days of her life. First, she had lost her Wisp Sphere. A baby baboon had gotten a hold of it and vanished into the brush. Then, when she tried to get it back, that's when things got bad. The little eyesore ran to its parents... its big mean ferocious parents. For an hour, she had been chased by a horde of enraged baboons that wanted nothing more than to rip her apart. On the bright side, she did get her weapon back... but it had been covered in slobber. It was the first encounter she had had with these kind of animals and she was not a fan. The sorceress preferred the intelligent wildlife of her home much more than these... monkeys.

This place was nothing like the beautiful forest where she had been raised. Oh no, It was wild and unruly, with no one to love and tend to its crazy ambitions. A weed. This place was one giant weed! There was beauty here, yes, but the majority of it was choked by all these damn briars... a rebellious child that was begging for attention. That's exactly what this place was.

Wiping the sweat from her brow, the sorceress groaned. It was hot and humid, and her frilly, lacy attire wasn't helping. The air may as well not have been there at all; Faye felt like it was nearly impossible to breath. Sweat and dirt had collected in every crevice it could find, and the only thing that Faye wanted to do was jump into a nice cool lake. A clean clear lake. The brown algae filled ponds she had come across would not do at all. Already, she had accidently stepped into one, and nearly passed out when she found a leech stuck to her ankle.

With every step she took, her long flowing dress would find a way to get caught in some way or other, causing her to stop and wriggle it free. There was no way she was going to just rip it out of its entrapment and ruin her dress. By the heavens, she'd strip down naked first before she did that. As much as she was annoyed, the thought of cutting or burning away the plants never came to her mind. Instead, she pushed the obstacles out of her way, using her power over plants to carefully weave her own path through the trees. The jungle was alive, and had just as much of a right to live as she did. That was the way she had been taught ever since was a child.

If mother was here, she would have a conniption. Tending to this overgrowth would take a lifetime. she thought.

The sorceress stumbled over her feet, nearly falling flat on her face in the process. She had just about had it and wanted to scream, but she took a deep breath, ready to continue her graceful stride. "Patience is a virtue. A proper lady must re-" her words were lost as the ground gave way beneath her, sending the maiden tumbling through weathered vines and branches. Half way down, she managed to catch one of the many vines, but it snapped in her grasp, and she continued her descent. With a thump, she hit the ground, rolling down a small hill that led into a clearing. The landing had taken the breath out of her, but she was okay.

Rising to her hands and knees, she was ready to throw a tantrum, but that thought was struck down quickly when she witnessed the huge beast standing above her. "Is that... a dragon?" she whispered, falling completely still. Had she made to much noise and attracted the beast's attention? She prayed that was not the case. Faye had only seen one dragon in her lifetime, the same one she had borrowed a scale from to create her Wyvern Gloves as a mater of fact. There were some fairies that were powerful enough to manipulate their form into the mythical creatures, such as Maleficent, but the true great wyrms were few and in between. Centuries of being hunted by man had decimated their numbers to near extinction in the Enchanted Dominion.

Looking across the field, she spotted three figures, two of which were familiar. Krysta, the young Synthie whom she had befriended (her first human friend, actually) when the girl ventured to her world, and then there was the blue haired Katasuro; the young man who desired power above all else. The only other person there was someone she did not recognize. Judging by his dark robes, she thought that he could be a mage like herself.

As much as she wanted to go over and assist Krysta, she knew that moving right now would be risky for both her and the girl. Besides, she did look busy. It seemed that Katasuro was eager to fight this monster, seeing as he was holding his large flaming scythe--wait, flaming? Was he insane? This entire world was like kindling. One wrong move, and those flames would devour everything in sight, something Faye knew all too well. The white haired teen was trying to encourage him to stand down, a warning she hoped that he would heed.

With her Wisp Sphere hovering by her side, she waited to see what would happen next...

The wrym was not paying much mind to any of the beings nearby. There were other matters to attend to. There were weaker targets to assimilate. But what caught its attention was the lad with the flaming scythe that stood directly in its path, blocking its advance but only for a moment. An irksome young soul, the creature thought.

Dragons were not stupid beasts. They thought. They understood. They comprehended. This one in particular had spent one life knowing the tongue of humans. It knew the word 'kill.' How rude. It had yet to do anything wrong. It merely wanted to bring the gifts it had been bestowed to all of the creatures who lived here in this world...the gloriousness of the collective mind.
For it was not the Dragon itself that was threatening this world...but the sentient plant that had taken hold of it over the years--a disgusting, fungal spore--slowly creeping into both thought and action until it made its host a slave to whatever bidding it wished. A cordycep. A parasite. An infectious, dangerous, deadly plague.
If killing is what was to take place...so be it. If they died in the attempt, their bodies would merely be fuel for its spores. If they were taken by the cordyceps, all the better--there would be more hosts to take, more victims to control, more vessels to spread itself. Perhaps encountering these humans was not without some merit after all...

Slowly, the Elder Wrym dug roots from its back into the ground, burrowing into the earth. For a moment, it paused, dwelling on how it would best take these new vessels for its own, wondering what powers it would gain from taking their bodies. An interesting proposal. Then, quite suddenly, six creeper plant Heartless appeared. While neither the scaly monster nor its fungal growth were members of the Heartless species, the Darkness they held was significant enough to call forth the creatures of shade, though it took some while for them to heed its call. The plants turned on the gathered collection of heroes, beginning to barrage their location with seeds.

Post by Katsurou Atsuregi Wed Jun 17, 2015 12:57 am

Katsurou began running at the creature, when it laid roots into the ground. So far, he had done two things. One, refuse any common sense. This guy was either crazy, stupid, brave... or all of the above.

Really, it's just the first two.

Suddenly, Heartless forced their way from the ground. It didn't take long for Katsurou to begin making the assumption that this large creature was, indeed, one of the Heartless, and that his Darkness would do nothing against it. He also assumed that the creatures were much stronger than any he had controlled before. As such, it would likely be impossible to use his own Darkness to take control. He didn't even want to try. He just wanted to kill these things.

Katsurou would be running, but then, something hilarious happened. And painful. Painful too. A barrage of seeds were sent flying at him, and Katsurou made attempts to dodge some. However, then, one of them hit him square in the forehead.

"Ack! What the hell!" The seed stopped him in his tracks. Not sure if anyone's been hit by such an objects at high speeds... But that shit hurts. Katsurou was pissed now. His left hand parted from the scythe, but it was still kept above ground. While he was stationary, it wouldn't be good to burn some things. In any case, it was time for Katsurou to show these flowers who was the real boss. And so, with a cry, and a thrust of his hand, five small fireballs flew, at once, each aiming to hit a different Creeper Plant.

"Salvo Flame!"

Post by Krysta Wed Jun 17, 2015 12:09 pm

Krysta's heart dropped into her stomach as she realized that the jolly green giant was already ticked off just at the young man's presence. Out of nowhere, Creeper Plants began popping out of the ground, firing seeds at a rapid rate towards any place they could aim. With a squeak of terror, the young Mooglette conjured up five panels of glass above her, focusing her energy and warping to the nearest one before the shots could even harm her.

"Eeep!" She managed to gulp, as she drew out Fomalhaut from its holster on her back. "Not friendly, suuuuuuuper not friendly!"
From her position higher in the air, the young girl now had a better view of the area. Most of it was still covered in thick foliage and dense growth, but she could at least spot that she and this hasty-acting kid weren't alone in this conflict. Well...she at least HOPED she wasn't alone in this conflict with him. She could see a man in a cloak with dark hair, but didn't recognize him--the plants did seem to be acting hostile towards him as well, and would give him incentive to fight. However to her far left, Hyalus did know the other person in the clearing--the Sorceress Faye. The Fairy was one she'd encountered rather accidentally on an unplanned crash-landing in the Enchanted Dominion, (Faye's homeworld,) and the two of them had become very fast friends in the short while they were together. The girl grinned--so Faye had found a way to travel around on her own after all! She'd be more inclined to go over and give her a congratulatory hug, if not for all the Heartless swarming around.

Strange though, Krysta thought to herself, that there was no marking on the big green vegetable to distinguish him as a Heartless. Most of the ones she'd ever encountered had the red and black emblem on them in some manner or other (besides the Shadows, that is.) Something this big should definitely have something like that, but from where she was positioned, she couldn't spot anything of the sort. A non-Heartless that could call Heartless? That...seemed strange to her, having come from a world where the creatures of Darkness were more than a daily commodity.

"Thinking later, shooting now," she scolded to herself, lining up the scope of her weapon for a few rounds.
Carefully pulling on her trigger, Krysta let two shots go off on the Creeper Plants nearest Katsurou. At least then, the dope would have two fewer enemies to worry about. For now, she was just thankful she'd managed to get out of range from any major dangers.

Damn it all, it is aggravated.

Dominik cursed under his breath as several Heartless showed up, bringing forth a barrage of seeds at the group. The Jer grit his teeth as he dived down onto the earth away from the beast and his new pets, bracing himself for any injury. He wasn’t the most agile, unlike the white haired girl he laid eyes upon earlier who just displayed impressive mobility, so he knew that he wasn’t going to be completely unscathed.

However, what they needed was a plan. Confronting a beast such as this wasn’t one to go head first into. A distraction was going to be needed first, one that would then allow him to slip into cover and allow him to get a better glance at this foe’s capability.

He looked back at the group of Heartless, using his eyes as a focus point for his mana, [Phantasmal Image]

With the silent incantation, an image of himself warped into existence in front of him, standing between him and the beast before it stepped forward. Although the fear aura it presents is useful in a good amount of cases, Dominik doubted its capability in this scenario. All he needed was something to draw attention away from himself, hopefully that is.

Regardless, he still needed to act. He took a deep breath, he now focused his mana around him, allowing it to embrace him, covering himself in an illusionary cloak that blended him with his environment. After doing so, he leapt to his feet and gathered as much information as possible.

One, it appears the young girl and the boy are inclined toward aggressive tactics, the illusionist noted, that other girl looks interesting however, yet this is not the time for such thoughts. Do be sure to keep an eye out for her combat style, though. Two, this beast just summoned Heartless. It does not appear it is itself. Yet judging from this beast’s appearance, it appears to be a wyrmling of some sort. They can be crafty, so I must be careful. That brings me to three…

The Jer grit his teeth again, walking slowly back and toward the beast’s rear, Can it detect me?

He wasn't sure he wanted to know the answer to that question.

Everyone seemed intent on attacking the creature, regardless of its intentions. All except for the other man that appeared keen on observing the situation further and taking his time. That was something she could admire. Judging from what her moon capabilities were telling her, the spells he had just cast were based off illusion. Interesting.

The sorceress could not ponder on this for long for a barrage of Creeper Plant seeds were heading straight towards her. Picking up her skirts, she attempted to dash out of the way, but it was not nearly quick enough. One of the razor sharp seeds caught her upper arm, giving her the sensation as if she had been grazed by a bullet. Clenching her teeth together, she seethed in pain, clasping one clawed glove over the small wound. Were it not for her Garnet Headdress with its protective charm, it could have been much worse.

Sensing her distress, a small violet wisp appeared, orbiting around her as it hummed gently. Like all of her fire related spells, the wisp seemed to be enchanted, alive even as it moved about with grace. Faye glowered down at the pesky Heartless, commanding the Wisp Sphere to rise and settle within the palm of her hand with a subtle gesture.

This flora may be wild and overwhelming, but it is has life. It has a heart. As long as I am here, the shadows will never have a chance to devour its light. she thought, confident in her abilities to do so... and a bit dramatic as always, of course.

Sweeping her hand forward in one graceful movement, the Wisp Sphere spun around around the Sorceress, lashing out right towards the Creeper Plants. Whether it hit or not, that wasn't the point, she just needed the distraction, and if it did, it wouldn't do too much damage. "Miserable weeds... you have no place in this garden." the crystal orb began to hum with energy as it returned to her hand. Fay began to focus her magic. "I will see you razed from this world." she proclaimed, the moment she unleashed a ball of flames towards one of the Creeper Plants.

I will have to be careful. Fire must be used in moderation on this field of battle. she thought, glancing towards the greenery surrounding them.

Spoiler:

The Creeper Plants nearest Dominik coiled back, afflicted by the Fear status, but the Wrym itself was ignoring everybody nearby. The two Heartless nearest Katsorou exploded in a dark mist, taking quite a bit of damage from both the flames and the unexpected bullet fire from above. The pair that had surrounded Faye also burst, exposed to both her own fire and the remaining balls of flame the scythe-wielder had lain down.
Neither the plants nor the Wrym itself could spot Dominik, which was fortunate for him at the moment. But even invisibility, for all its uses, couldn't keep anybody safe from what was going to happen next.

The monster began shaking, much in the way a dog does when it tries to dry itself. Like snow, faint yellow-green clouds of dust rose from its body, flying up into the air. It didn't seem to do much of anything at all, until quite suddenly, the wrym spread out its wings, flapping them against the air, spreading the foggy stuff across the area in all directions. The pollen scattered, covering an enormous expanse. Slowly but surely...it would begin to take its toll on the unsuspecting heroes before it.

It gave out a triumphant scream, which shook the very ground, causing the leaves to quake. Tremble now...before the might of the jungle's true power.

Post by Katsurou Atsuregi Fri Jun 19, 2015 12:15 am

Katsurou smirked, the battle going well. Before long, four of the six Heartless that were summoned were already dead. He was really feeling good about this fight, like he was going to win. In fact, he thought there was no way that he wouldn't win, with all the help and how easily the Creeper Plants went down. Katsurou was used to controlling creatures equivalent to him, and given how quickly these creatures went down, perhaps the one controlling them wasn't too bad either.

While Katsurou was lost in his hubris, however, the creature emitted some kind of... dust. Katsurou thought nothing of this, and began to run to take on the creature itself. Then, the dust spread. It filled Katsurou's lungs and his eyes quickly. Katsurou began to cough, and his eyesight began to fail him. This dust... was not just any dust at all. It was deadly.

Katsurou backed up, looking around quickly. While not yet within the range, he had been dangerously close to the silencing range. Even so, the near miss could very well prove disastrous in the near future. For Katsurou would quickly look around, and his eyes would fall upon the Mooglette.

Katsurou would blink, before the image of the Mooglette would distort into that of the Creeper Plant. Katsurou would act quickly and rush towards Krysta... the best he could, thinking she were targeting another enemy. He didn't know that he were targeting someone who was helping him. Katsurou was still a bit far, but he still had one trick up his sleeve.

Still a decent distance, though getting close to melee range, Katsurou would proceed to swing his scythe forwards. From it, a strong blaze would force itself forwards, as if from a spell. But, this was no "true" spell. Only a manipulation of Katsurou's natural flames, which have been strengthened by his natural winds.

If this projectile were to hit, it would likely burn, and quite a bit, too.

(Okay, so, before I get too much into this. Does this mean that the Confuse status effect ends at the end of this post/beginning of next post? Or does the duration end at the end of next post? Sorry about the confusion (and the pun), but I can't exactly find anything about this.)

To clarify, Confuse in this case would only last a single post. It will have already worn off by your next post. You may continue posting.

Aw, figures it'd go in every direction...including up. Also I don't have cleanse.

It got pretty dusty all of a sudden, Krysta thought to herself, as she lined up for another shot. Although...it was acting awful weird, for dust. It didn't even have the same color as dust, either. Then again, Hyalus had never really experienced plants pollinating before--she did hail from a world that was essentially one giant town after all--and she didn't consider herself an expert on anything other than rocks, heat, and metal.

Frowning, the tween tried to find another target to hit, but found her vision was getting fuzzy.
"What the heck?"
It was as if her own body weren't even obeying her anymore. Her eyes locked onto the incoming form of Katsu, who was charging at her like a wildman, and somehow she didn't recognize him. Her mind went numb, blank, and somehow she still reacted to the quickly moving foe. Almost against her will, like a reflex, Krysta fired off a round aiming for his chest. She cried out as both poison and flame started to take its toll, the burning on her skin, and the toxin in her blood wearing her down.

Quick question: Could these effects be bounced back to the boss?

Sorry bout the wait, school stuff just got wrapped up

With most of the Heartless out of the way, Dominik began to focus more of his attention back on the beast. It appeared to him that the beast had yet to notice him, but something struck the illusionist.

Think. This far, what has it done? Since I’ve arrived, it hasn’t moved. Why not? With it’s size, it could easily overtake us. In fact, it’s done exactly the opposite. It rooted itself, right before it summoned the Heartless, and now…

He looked back at the green wyrmling, it now began to shake, sending some sort of powdery substance into the air. The Jer backed up, but he knew we would not be able to get outside its reach, but far enough away to avoid its most dangerous affects. He was no alchemist, but it didn’t take one to know that this dust did not bode well. Even though the danger of it was obvious, he needed to take every opportunity to examine the opponent. Illusionists are trained to keep their composure in even the most difficult of situations. The more composed the caster, the more precise their illusion.

This attack is a clue, one that will cement how this beast fights.

He began to feel the powder take a toll on his sight, his body was reacting negatively to the powder that was spread.

Huh, this...this is a poison of some sort. It’s making it difficult to straighten my thoughts...but I need to examine…

He rubbed his fingers together, a smooth sensation on his fingertips.

Odd… He held his fingers to his nose, this pollen…can it Ignite…

The thought ran through his head, Ignite...

His body began to reject his orders, turning toward the girl with the floating wisp, Ignite…

He began to transmute his mana into the evocation of Fire, gathering it into his palm and sending it toward the young woman. In the deepest part of his conscious, he hoped she would be able to dodge it in time.

As the poisonous dust fell down upon them, the sorceress instantly took to a sneezing fit, coughing and hacking as the delirious toxins entered her body. Her vision quickly darkened, becoming cloudy at the edges. A searing pain shot through her, as if little mites were eating away at her skin. Faye had dealt with many plants, but nothing like the spore that now afflicted her senses. Gasping for breath, the fire maiden stumbled around with a hand dramatically draped across her forehead. Which way was she facing again? Left or right? Was she near or far from the monster? As these thoughts went through her head, she did not even notice the roar of flames come rushing towards her until it was too late. The sorceress screamed in agony as the heat bit into her, burning worse than any fire she had encountered due to the slick oil the spore had created on her body. She could only hope that her fire resistance gear had nipped the burn, but it sure didn't feel like it at the moment.

"By the light, get away!" lashing out blindly in her confusion, another fireball was thrown, heading towards Dominik.

Not sure if this would help take the edge off the oil effect that's helping the fireball here, but I'll put this here just in case and make any changes if necessary.

Yes, they can, but these effects won't be nearly as effective on it because Poison affiliations. In fact, the Poison status would actually work as a Regen for it, healing it slightly every post. I wouldn't recommend it unless you all intend on starting a direct assault on it after those status effects are applied.

The Confuse effect has worn off from your party.

Satisfied that its pollen had done appropriate damage to these fleshy mortals, the Wrym continued on its path, lumbering towards the towering waterfall in the distance. With every step it took, new flowers and vines grew, sprouting and tangling about, infecting everything around them. Trees and ferns that were once native to this world began to shift and twist into nightmarish fungal monstrosities of themselves, blemishing the jungle world with decay. If this beast were allowed to linger for too long, Deep Jungle would suffer for it.

The two remaining Creeper Plants charged up now, firing rounds off at Faye and Dominik, the latter whom had elected to vanish rather than take on the Heartless. It was a mistake they'd both pay for now. The Elder Wrym ignored the others as they fought one another. Its sights were set on something much greater. While far from one of the creatures of Darkness, the Heart of a world was still a potent source of power, and sought by things that weren't Heartless...this included the infected reptilian trudging through the dense foliage. To consume the Heart of this world was to gain a massive amount of power for itself, and claim a world for its own to flourish and consume. It would be a base of operations from which its fungal growths could then travel forwards from...a world of decay and malady.

The two remaining Creeper Plants fire (4) rounds each at Faye and Dominik, respectively. (Med. dmg.)

Post by Katsurou Atsuregi Sun Jul 05, 2015 10:46 pm

NOTE: Sorry for the (very) late post. Things have been taking my time. I'll try my hardest to keep at this. And, sorry for the relative shortness of the post. Didn't really know what else to put, at the time. Anyways, let's get this rolling, shall we?

Katsurou rushed at what he thought was a Creeper Plant, which only shot what he thought was a "seed" at his chest. He didn't seem too worried, until it hit. Then, he was completely surprised at how much sheer pain he felt. Stumbling back, he'd blink... Before realizing that what was shot was not a seed, but a bullet. The Creeper Plant was no Heartless at all, but one of the people helping him. Stumbling back, he blinked, and turned to the large creature near them.

Oh, that thing was going to pay.

Eyes clouded by both poison and pain, Katsurou mostly ignored the (mind, very intense) pain, pushing through and forcing himself to fight. He lifted his scythe as if ready to strike, and rushed right for the Elder Wrym. With a shout of combined anger and physical pain, the flames on his scythe would blaze further, becoming even more wild as he ran to the Wrym. Once he got within melee range, he would force the blade of his scythe in an arc, attempting to give a strong slash to the... Well, leg of the creature.

This was a big thing, but Katsurou had his control of his elements. He wasn't going to take no for an answer, even if that meant he was going to be here for hours on end. His slowness may give the creature a chance to dodge, but that may just cause Katsurou to push himself more and more to fight harder. One thing was certain.

Katsurou was pissed, and Katsurou wanted to win, no matter what poisons were blinding and draining him.

Due to Terra's departure and subsequent suspension of Raids during, this Raid has been reviewed by a collaboration of staff members. As the Raid Rewards themselves are being reviewed for validity with the currently established site meta, these are unfortunately unable to be given at this time.

As a sign of the effort put forth into this Raid by all of its participants and an apology for the lack of physical reward, all characters herein are automatically awarded 4 statistic points to apply to there statistics immediately and however they see fit.

As Raids are further developed, I would like to see participants from prior raids contribute suggestions to their development. Please utilize the suggestion forum at your earliest convenience to provide us with ideas of what you would like to see in the future incarnation of raids!
