Summer Tournament: Zyvonia vs Zulu

“If the participants would please pick heads or tails, kupo!~” the fluttering moogle would say, flipping a small coin into the air.

Strange tournaments, even stranger creatures. Actually, the tournament wasn't that strange; it was pretty standard. The only thing was... those small creatures with tiny little imp wings and... pompom antennae? Zulu opened his visor to make sure his scopes weren't faulty. Did they just put him against a child? Well, hey, Yenomrah was right about this age and she ran a whole country. An isolated one at that. Oh wait... didn't he hear this girl was a leader of world or something? Geeze. Kids these days.

Ouch. I think I just made myself feel old.

Walking casually around the girl, he held his rifle downwards. He wasn't going to start shooting yet. "I can't believe they have me fight a child. Well, come on, show me what you got, make the first move." Just as he said that, he activated the Yamato Cube within his core, charging up his guns. Small arcs of electricity flowed through Vixen as he continued his lazy circle around the girl.

Synthesis activated: Yamato Cube

Her opponent, Zulu, won the coin toss. However, instead of making his move, he seemed surprised to see her and let her make he first move, since she was a child. She raised her eyebrows at the notion of being underestimated, but she wasn't angry or annoyed. A fighter should never underestimate their opponent, no matter the appearance. Zulu would learn one way or another. Without a word, she made her move.

Without actually moving, Zyv created an orb of magic that emitted moonlight. It floated around her. She held out her hand and created a small orb of Water magic, that rose into the air and dissipated. Rain clouds then formed above them and it started to rain. Not heavily, but anybody caught under it would be soaking wet within minutes of being exposed. Zyv then pulled out two metal orbs from her pockets and they transformed into a scythe.

Zyv pointed her finger at Zulu. "I may be a child, but at least I'm not trash," she taunted. However, it was more than just an insult. She targeted Zulu and released supernatural forces upon him that would change him into a trash can.

Zulu watched on as the girl began her rituals, summoning an orb that looked similar to the moon, and another that was made up of water, which ascended into the skies and made it rain down. Okay, so she could summon rain. Better watch out for the puddles. She took out another two spheres, and from what he could tell, they were made of metal. Good, good. That will work against her in the long run.

So far, all she was doing was setting up for something. That is until she pointed to him and delivered a cute little quip. A quip that would soon be groan-inducing as he suddenly became a trash can. Now, any other day this would have caused the raindrops hitting his lid to fizzle into vapor, but given who he was fighting against, it didn't have that much of an effect. Although, he was slightly annoyed that this caused him to drop his precious gun.

Deciding to boost up his defenses for later, a few particles appeared around his trashy form, which he soon bundled up to look like flies just for the heck of it. "Nice trick. How does it look with the flies, hmm?" he would say with a chuckle, and with the lid acting like his mouth in a cartoonish way.

Seeing that the girl could at least fight back, Zulu decided to test just how much of a fighter she really was, however, he wasn't going to do it without a little bit of mocking. Yeah, he was an adult, but really, what's life without a little immaturity here and there?

Luckily, the girl's attempt at making a mockery of him hadn't covered a free-forming construct as he. The trashcan began to deform, taking a more humanoid shape, a form the girl might and should recognize. He made himself look like a visually perfect copy of the girl, and said, "I may be a child, but at least I'm not trash!" He mimicked the girl's voice flawlessly, but unfortunately, he couldn't turn her into a trashcan. However, he did pull out two orbs of metal from his new clothes and turned it into a replica of the girl's own scythe. The only addition was the electric arcs that danced all over the weapon.

"So, you want to play?" Zulu held out his now-slim arm outwards to his gun, and it jumped into his palm as the strong magnet of his gauntlet (integrated into his disguise) pulled it to him. The gun was then slung on his back, and he smirked, getting into the same stance as the girl was. "Come on, slowpoke!"

Shift: Zulu can change his shape and voice passively, but depending on how much he is changing, he may put himself in a bad situation. (Might lose trigger finger/arm/leg/etc. during shifting.)

Advanced Synthesis and Fabrication -- Using Nanos, Zulu can materialize tools, ammunition, and weapons at the snap of a finger. However, due to the need to know every piece in the construct, and how they function within the mechanisms, he can only effectively materialize simple things like melee weapons and a few simple ranged ones like a bow and crossbow, and things he has detailed knowledge on like the weapons he carries with him and anything he has taken apart and reassembled. This also means he can create working replicas of any of his Syntheses.

This does NOT allow him to copy any non-mechanical abilities that may have been present in the originals though.

Since they are made of Nanos, they can be commanded to break apart, reform, or be reabsorbed at will. The quality of the objects made are of the same level as his Synthesis stat, and the number of fabricated replicas that can be active at a time is equal to twice his Synthesis tier.

Synthesis used: Pyrrha

Zyv tilted her head and blinked as it seemed Zulu took to the sudden transformation in stride. He transformed into a version of her and even mimicked her voice. She let the scythe fell into the crook of her elbow and clapped lightly. "Very nice, but I don't think I'd talk that much," she said. She then covered her mouth, as if realizing that was what she was doing exactly. However, as she talked, unbeknownst to Zulu, she cast another spell.

Zulu had a gun as well as a scythe. Long range, so that meant Zyv had to be careful. A sword wasn't the most practical against a gun, and Zyv wasn't speedy enough to be confident. Her scythe transformed into two daggers. She imbued the right one with Moon magic before rushing towards Zulu, aiming two slashes towards his torso.

Zulu chuckled cutely when Zyv contradicted herself, mimicking her clapping and pose. As she charged with her scythe-turned-daggers, he did the same transformation as well, and ran towards her, mirroring her wind up. As a trained assassin in his own right, it was easy to parry her strikes. He's already skilled in close quarters, and with a smaller frame, it was easier to move his body, although it did throw off his finesse a little, not yet adjusted to the change from his usual form. It wasn't much of a hindrance. He could easily cope with that.

Now it was his turn to attack. He held an open palm towards the girl and let out a forceful shock wave to push her back. The force wouldn't do much damage, but it would definitely knock the wind right out of her lungs. He chose to release the shock wave radially as opposed to focusing on a single point, partly because he wanted to make sure that as long as she was within twelve feet from him, she'd be affected, and also he wasn't sure how she'd hold up if such a force were slammed into her body on a small surface area. He definitely didn't want to accidentally blow her lungs out of her back.

He'd immediately run to her, attempt to grab her shirt and throw her against the trunk of the tree, rather than shoot her with charged-up shots while she was recovering, or try stabbing her in the head and/or chest. If she got too energetic, he could always shoot her leg. "Did I hurt you too badly?"

Abilities Used:

Zyv was hit with a blast that send her sliding back. As she slid, she quickly created an afterimage of herself while also turning herself invisible. As Zulu ran towards her, or rather her afterimage, she quickly circled around him in a fluid motion, bring her daggers up and stabbing them both down into Zulu's back.

To his surprise, his hand went right through the girl. An illusion, clever. Shortly after his blunder, something dug into his back, triggering the lingering charge that built up in his body from of the Yamato Cube. Zyv would feel a sudden and strong shock that would keep her from moving her muscles as the electric signals from her nerves would go haywire from the electrical disruption.

Turning towards his attacker, he turned the daggers into telescopic batons and aimed a strike to the side of her head. The other baton had two prongs at the top, about two centimeters long. He pressed the top against the girls chest as quickly and gently as he could, trying not to stab her with it, and let the electricity surge into her as the improvised tazer clicked to life.

Abilities:

Upon making contact, Zyv was shocked with electricity and was stunned. However, it wouldn't last long, as water appeared on her body, releasing her from the stun. She then ducked down and leapt away from him. She would have to keep her distance from Zulu. It was clear now that he would use electricity for stunning purposes. She poured a lot of magic into one of her daggers. charging it with Darkness.

The girl managed to keep herself from getting stunned for long. Interesting. However, that alone won't save her if she keeps on fighting. There seemed to be an anomaly with her dagger, and knowing magic was such a potent thing, Zulu didn't want to risk getting hit by that. A copy of himself appeared beside him with the same disguise, except without the armaments. Why bother when it was going to die in a few seconds anyway.

He held out his arms, and Zyv would have felt her daggers getting pulled towards Zulu. The cyborg used the strong magnetic pull from Pyrrah to wrench the weapons away from the girl and come flying to his hands. However, it wouldn't reach as the copy jumped in front of him, taking the two daggers in the chest, instantly killing the decoy as it took the extra damage from the enchantment. It would then disintegrate into a flurry of Nano, which returned to Zulu, being reabsorbed. The daggers would simply drop to the ground with a clang.

Magic was a potent thing. He didn't want to suddenly find himself in a position where he had blown his own hand off because he caught a grenade.

Electrified batons on hand again, he charged at the girl and swung at her twice, aiming for body blows this time.

Abilities Used:

When Zyv felt the daggers being pulled from her hands, she quickly threw them towards Zulu, adding the the force. But she knew what was going to happen, so she kept her eyes closely on the clone that Zulu had created. When it went to move, to take the daggers upon himself, Zyv turned the water from the rain that had covered the clone into metal, particularly it's feet, binding it to where it was initially standing and preventing it from blocking the attack for Zulu. The daggers would then hit Zulu, full force, with one dealing extreme Darkness damage.

When his clone stopped suddenly, Zulu knew something was wrong. He didn't know what, but his shield had just been immobilized, leaving him open to the daggers. They were going too fast for Zulu to do anything, and he took both of them in the chest. The damage was surprisingly large, but he didn't suffer all of it. There was an otherworldly screech as a shadow writhed above Zulu.

The featureless shadow glared at the girl and hissed before enveloping her host with a dark shroud. "No mercy~" Nyx would hiss.

"Well, you got her mad. Nothing I can do now." Zulu pulled out the daggers and threw them on the ground. The damage was great, but it wouldn't be long until he was all patched up. He grabbed Vixen from his back while Nyx, still merged to Zulu and rising above from behind, took his sidearm, Bloodletter, and a replica of it. All three weapons were charged with the Yamato Cube, and Nyx also provided a boost to the weapons with darkness and the power of untamed flames.

Two portals opened up behind Zyv, and out popped two Neoshadows with glowering red eyes, which immediately lunged at the girl before diving back into their portals, for another chance to strike. Zulu jumped to a tree branch, and together with Nyx, fired a volley of six shots from each gun at the girl. Should she try and disappear again, their shots would be guided by Nyx' Hunter senses. The bullets would fly at thrice their regular velocity thanks to the Yamato Cube, and should either Nyx or Zulu successfully hit the girl with their barrage, she would feel the burning sensation long after the bullet had passed through the flesh.

Meanwhile, the decoy was still stuck.

It seemed as though Zyv's attacked created a violent reaction. Something screeched and Zulu was engulfed in Darkness and hissed at her. Then they pulled out even more weapons. Guns. What a pain. In response, Zyv pulled out her final, metal orb and reshaped it into a throwing knife.

Zyv then heard something immediately behind her. When the Neoshadows lunged at her, they hit nothing but rain drops falling down. It appeared as though Zyv had disappeared, however, when in fact, she shrank herself to the size of a rain drop. The bullets would also shoot hit nothing, or if it was as Zyv hoped, would actually also hit the Neoshadows. It would be hard to find her, especially in the rain. She expended the rest of her MP into the dagger, empowering it with Moon damage.

So all Zyv had to do now was stall.

"Hehehehe, she is trying to hide! But I can feel where you are, little girl. Shrinking will only make this hurt more for you!" Nyx would hiss with a sadistic tone as three fireballs popped up behind her. "Let us see how your luck will hold out."

The two Neoshadows were on standby, staying within their pool of shadows and taking position by the tree line in wait. In Zulu's hand, there was a small device that he tossed where the girl was standing last. It would disperse a number of Nano into the air and the ground before a surge of electricity covered the 20-meter radius. Once the electricity died out, Nyx took one of the fireballs and personally threw it around the area where she felt Zyv was. It wasn't a sure shot, but at it was entertaining. She did the same with the other three fireballs.
